Anthony It's the classier option for sure. Would love to have it probably even more than the new one. He says it's a chore to drive after 6 hours but it feels a lot more like an occasion.
+Anthony I agree. That kid was complaining about the long shifter throw and the vibrations, but that's part of the joy in driving classic cars. I'm on my 4th Datsun now, and I love the fact that there is no power steering, auto rev-matching, or other computers and gadgets. Older cars will always have a special place in my heart.
I'm always amazed at the quality of your videos. You deserve way more subs for the amount of effort you put into these videos. Great job guys, keep up the amazing content.
I love the deepness you guys give to the whole theme of the video. I had never seen it from the old guy point of view talking about how the young kids will prefer to relive their youth by buying one of the new shelby. It’s something to think about and not just judge people that don’t prefer the old cars. Love the video guys, upload videos like this more often.
Firstly I'd like to say awesome video, good to see the old an new together, the only recommendation id make for a future video or improvement, would be to use a 1965 Shelby GT350 or even a 350r if you could find someone willing. That way youd have the first production year of each. Awesome video though, looking forward to what you'll post next!
TheDustyaman can you blame them though knowing what their cars are worth? The 65s are well over a quarter million now. If that was your car you wouldn't let them either.
I loved seeing the older crowd represented here. Most car channels and enthusiasts forget that our elders were doing this long before we were. I would love for you guys to include more classic culture. Awesome video.
I agree man. My dad had a Nova with a small block when he was young. Then had a Conquest, blew that up and swapped at 350 in it for power and to piss of the Dodge guys. Haha. Then he built an 8 second 454 dragster on alcohol from the ground up in our garage. And he also made my mom's 68 Mustang Coupe into a full tube chassis, all motor 289, no boost no bottle, 11 second drag car also in our garage. I was cursed/blessed to have this same passion from birth. Lol
mkim92fs i got a 240z I'm working on. Check it out it's on my channel if you want. Haven't made a video in a couple weeks because I'm doing bodywork and it's the same old thing so i didn't want to bore anyone.

100%. My father had a 66 which he tore ass in SoCal for years with. He rekindled his youth when my lust for a 5.0L with Flowmasters hit in the mid-90s. Now, he is almost 70 (our Mustangs were sold years ago) and I am close to 40. 2017 GT350 ordered. Time to get my daughter hooked and see if three generations can fall in love. Thank you for the video.
@jonny j Just typical of the younger (my) generation. I get it though, he is used to refinement and an easy driving experience and thats fine. But to me, less automation, less electronics, the better and more immersive driving experience.

I am 15 and about to get my permit while most kids at my highschool want a brand-new car I want to rebuild my dad's old 1970 mustang that I grew up driving around no one quite understands but it's all about memories
that's awesome man. I have been helping my grandpa with his 65 289 hvo mustang. he's the original owner and it only has 40k on the whole car. He has now decided to split ownership of it with me, and we go to car meets together all the time. ALL about the MEMORIES.
Bob garland please realize that any kid would love an old gt like that! (I just love z cars of all kinds lol. ) I love every single video you guys put out, keep it up!
Anyone who dislikes this video is trolling. Great work guys, this was a really enjoyable video to watch. As an owner of a 15 GT, I jumped on the feel train and enjoyed the ride.
The new car is a marvel, but given a choice between the two I'll still take the '66. I'm not a Mustang guy, but I can respect a good car when I see one, and those old GT350s are sweet as hell.
The young man looked 1000k more cool in the classic Shelby than in the newer one. Goes to show you the character that an old classic mustang brings to anyone. With that being said I also love the Shelby GT350, what a piece of car that is. I am currently not able to afford either one, but one day I will. It might just be the current GT350 and not the classic one. That's not to say that I wouldn't mind owning both if that became a possibility because I would in a heartbeat.
I would GIVE EVERYTHING MY LEGS MY LIVER MY ARMS... just to have the 66... that's real muscle. I'm only 19 years old. I would legit die for that damn car. It's gorgeous
Classic cars aren't more reliable than modern cars you old fuck, they break down constantly and you have to always be ready for roadside repair. They are also not better built, because tech in the 60s was shit, and looks are subjective.
I think the old car is a lot better looking and I'd much rather have it and I'm only 18. The new Shelby Mustangs are common and I see them all of the time. But I hardly ever see the old ones
Matthew Bailey that's true. Maybe there's just a few that live around me and I just see the same ones over and over. I need to start taking pictures of them so people don't think I'm lying. I know they start at only 70,000
Petrolicious style of video, but you were lucky enough to grab interesting people (and ye... cars aswell), especially that kind sir with classic gt350. Always a pleasure receiving G&G new video notifications. This was very nicely done, as per usual, but we can clearly see you guys are taking big steps in production quality. The classic Gt350 visual is just so awesome, truly a dream car for the garage (and for driving, don't get me wrong), but the carbureted exhaust "glo-glo" sound is what gets me, I would be eager to fire it up every single day, simply for listening to the idle sound. Cheers!
Not all classics run with ease. Its a man like this, this is what it takes to start a classic. Help it breath, take care of it! Show it love, cry on it, drive it. Bleed on it, whatever gets you going enough to get the car going too.
didn't think I would watch all this but very peacefully video, also when the 2017 Shelby mustang guy first showed in the video he looked like a dougchebag lol
I have a 1965 mustang & 1989 mustang 5.0 Personally, I agree with ol’ timer & I dislike the new mustangs for numerous reasons. However, I wouldn’t mind taking the engine/trans, brakes & suspension out of them and swapping into both my mustangs lol 😂
Such a sweet man. I like that he respects the new generation. Most classic car owners hate the new versions for no reason. We need more classic car owners like him. :)
What a great video and inspiration to see the classic meet the modern. I'm 16, and I love seeing the classics drive down the street and the sound of the exhaust, and I love to think (and hope to continue) the culture and legacy that rests on these great classic machines. I hope to own and restore a classic Ford Mustang, one day, to its glory, and to the respect and honor it deserves
In my not-so-humble opinion, the 65 & 66 Mustang Fastback is the best lookin body style ever designed and produced, it's absolutely beautiful as this vid proves....
That's a cool old man. He appreciates the new, but the old is just great and wasn't as easily attainable back then. The smell of gasoline, the hard rumble.. good stuff B)
My god,the new one would be used to haul groceries in,the old one i would have to put in in a shrine and worship it daily (and drive it ) Jesus a 60s Shelby is just beauty personified, i was at a party about 30 years ago and my buddy was dating this girl and the party was at her moms house (she lived at home),i was real young back then and we were hanging out in the garage smoking a cig,her dad had passed away a few years ago so her mother was widowed,in the garage there was a blanket of sorts and me, car guy and curious as always asked her "whats under that blanket? and she said , "oh its just my dads old car"of course she didn't know much about cars,i asked her if i could raise the blanket....sure why not? i almost had a heart attack, there under that blanket sat a GT500 KR !! from what i can remember the car was green and it was in good shape,my buddy went back home after a few months and the girl was lost to history, i always wondered what happened to that car.
I know Bob will never see this but I agree with his statement that the new generation would discard the ‘66 but i would discard the 2017, i LOVE classic muscle cars and that ‘66 is beautiful
The older gentleman said that the 2017 Mustang is the type our generation would buy and drive but for me honestly i'd buy the 1988 version its looks so much more cooler.
Outstanding video. I love how you guys captured the passion behind both owners. Young or old, we all have the same love for these cars. Well done, guys.
you guys dont realize how happy you make me everytime you put out a video, production quality is truly amazing ... and i get a feeling while watching it that only a good movie gives me. great job, look forward to you guys being at the top of the youtube automotive scene
Very, very cool, especially allowing each owner to drive the other's car and get a sense both of where the GT350 has been and where it is now. As a 2016 Mustang GT owner, I appreciate this a LOT. _Molte grazie!_
Loving my 3rd gen Camaro, I'd buy another one in a heartbeat over a 5th or 6th gen due in the sheer fact of simplicity. It's so easy to mod and customize very cheaply a 3rd gen, and a fun fact being they sit lower to the ground than 5th gens! Now by no means is a 3rd gen built for straightline speed, but they're absolutely built for cornering and circuit racing, beating the competing 3rd gen Foxbody Mustang by 4 seconds in Motorweek's head to head challenge! Kids today aren't quite getting the picture when it comes to car ownership; there's a difference between buying a car and owning a car. You gotta know how to maintain it, and be able to fix any part that breaks. If the traction control system or an expensive sensor breaks on a modern car, you might be out thousands of dollars that you can't afford. If a sensor goes out on an OBD1 system, all you need is a paperclip to diagnose what sensor, through the flashing trouble code on the dash, maybe a few hundred bucks for a rare expensive sensor.
As someone who grew up going to car shows with my dad surrounded by classic cars and old timers with a history with these machines, I'm so glad to see the kinda guy who my dad would be talking with at classic car shows recognized on the internet. Maybe someday, you could do a video with my Dad's '70 1/2 Falcon. It's a really awesome car, just needs to run first.
The day I purchased a brand new GT Mustang I felt like I would never sell. That was a short lived moment as I realized how much I love old Mustang Fastbacks. I only had 3,000 miles on my new Mustang when I sold it for a classic. I don't have a Shelby GT350 by any stretch of the imagination. I ended up trading for a 65 Mustang Fastback with a 289. Of course with the manual trans. I have never looked back. The driving experience is absolutely incredible.
The 4 Webber factory engine was rated 385np. I had an 65 GT350 with the factory race Webber engine. Back then I campaigned the car in SCCA amateur B production at Elkhart Lake. I bought the engine from Shelby American to replace the stock 289/306hp. The 385hp engine was actually a 294 since all the Shelby modified engines were overbored .010 to true up the blocks. The heads were froze Crane. They were the super port flow heads with Chevy valves, and a roller valve train. The compression was 12:1. The horsepower was rated at 6,800 rpm! God I miss that car. No side scoops, no quarter windows and no back seat. That’s where the spare tire was located.
little hurt to hear the older gentleman say that the younger generation would disregard his ‘66 because I’d give a kidney for that thing lol
Anthony same haha. I might even prefer it over the newer one.

Another walk off homer. Was this filmed in Centreville?
I would give my leg a kidney and my whole savings account for that 66
I give the old man props. A lot of old car collectors won't even let you breath in their car let alone drive it
I agree! Bob drove it two hours away from home for this video! What a champ!
Bob, if you're reading this: THANK YOU! Enjoy that GT350 in good health!
Well I think he was not a collector. Just a owner and fan of GT350.
Cars are made to be driven. I see the collectors side, but seeing some classics just to be a garage queen saddens me.

Petrerolicous is also
Lol seems like the old man wanted nothing to do with the new GT350. "I'm done" after 5 mins😂 He'd rather be in his '66, and so would I!

My dad just bought a 2017 grabber blue GT350
I love both cars honestly, I couldn’t take one over the other... Shelby forever! ❤️
"A lot of them will surely get this car just to recapture their youth again" B.G
The classic gt 350 is a dream car. Saving up for one lol.
That color on the newer gt350s is fucking beautiful😍😍
I love the content you guys put out. Keep up the awesome work!
great masquerades and I've always liked them and will always like them
I cried watching this video. Non car people don’t understand the joy, passion and bond between a petrol head and his/her car.
I like the gt500 better
They really sound alike when revving up
The mustang chassis is terrible for cornering. 3700lb is a fuck ton of weight to be throwing around a corner.
check out the track time around the 'ring for the new GT350. You'd be surprised.
The older gentleman said that the 2017 Mustang is the type our generation would buy and drive but for me honestly i'd buy the 1988 version its looks so much more cooler.
Such a lovely old man! Really happy for him!
amazing video! it would been sick to have the white w/blue '16....either way that s550 is super sexy.
Who else thinks that ford should make a a modern gt350 but the classic look
3:20 we all know he was looking at his dream car.
Bob Garland, I personally have a respect for classic American muscle
