How is it easier? I'm dark skinned but I'm also a makeup artist. I don't feel a lighter skinned person makes my job easier. Either the artist knows what they're doing or they don't
@@smitty5641 colors show, different shades show, etc...... there seem to be more options for lighter skinned women. honestly, i contour with black/purple eye shadow..... and the question isn't about the artist. of course, yawl know. it was a professional makeup artist that suggested that i use a black/purple eye shadow to contour. but for a novice, non professional, like myself (i don't claim to speak for Ms. Scott) who look to these "tutorials" it seems "easier" to "color" a lighter skinned woman and more difficult for darker women.
@@christmaswife10 look up makeup tutorials for women of color and you'll find some awesome dark skinned ladies! I prefer instagram to youtube these days but I know there are some beautiful chocolate sistas on here doing longer, step by step videos
@@smitty5641 I don't know if I would say it was easier, but I do find that light skin women take to pigments easier. I work for a well known makeup brand that does not cater to women beyond a NW 55 typically, and when I say that I have to WORK to get pigments going on the deeper skinned ladies...It is sometimes such a hassle. Mind you, I am a NW 53-55 myself, so this isn't me shading anyone, I am just saying. It isn't the fault of the chocolate doll that so many of these companies still don't provide products that seamlessly work with dark skin.
