If you listened to any popular music station in the U.S. in the late 50's you'd hear this. Listen to the message! Is there ANYTHING on any popular music station as uplifting? That's how you know humanity has gone downhill.
Gotta flash back good music like this now and then. The Browns recorded this country masterpiece in 1959- and i would bet this show and recording was done 40+ years later-They never lost a Beat. All 3 died within 4years of each other 2015-2019- Bless em all.
Its nearly impossible to tell this performance apart from their original 1959 recording. Totally awesome and they have all aged gracefully. God bless the Browns.
Maxine, I know you are so happy to be with your sister Bonnie & your brother Jim Ed again. While we here on Earth are saddened by the loss of your earthly presence. I am certain that the heavenly choir is sitting in admiration of your absolutely perfect harmonies.
Just heard that jim ed passed away today,,,,,,,,, dedicate this to him he will be so truly missed, that awesome voice, his great personality,,,,,, : "Jimmy Brown has passed away" R.I.P. every single night for months i come here to CFR and listen to him and others, so thankful we have this media to enjoy.
My family vacationed at CLEAR LAKE, CALIFORNIA...and this song was on the RADIO in 1963 when we were there...I BOUGHT IT THE NEXT TIME I WENT TO MY RECORD STORE...LOVE IT....R.I.P....Maxine....
There right it's hard to touch the browns harmonies amazing so many of these performers from 70s and back still had it 50 years later. You can tell from seeing all the performers how much they were respected. I was watchin one of these the other night as great as the music is i love hearing all the random stories.
This beautiful old song came out when we were young and has “haunted” all of us baby boomers all through our lives. But, oh how we loved it. This is the first time I have thought of it and heard it since I got old. ❤️
I have listened to this song at least 5 times today, since hearing of Jim Ed's passing. I have cried each time. This is my all favorite of his songs. God bless Maxine and Bonnie as they deal with his loss. He had one of the smoothest voices in country music. A great man. R.I.P. Jim Ed.
Well said Judy. It was a sad day but he leaves us with so much wonderful music. I feel his loss as do many and hope his family are able to deal with their grief. The loss of a loved one is difficult to say the least. R.I.P. Jim Ed.
Connie Smith Connie, what a special moment this was. Jim Ed, Maxine, and Bonnie were in near-perfect harmony. The nostalgia was overwhelming. Chet Atkins concealed his emotions pretty well, but he was truly touched, almost overcome. The loss of Jim Ed Brown is incalculable. Nashville is in mourning. The final curtain is coming down now. I am thankful I was here to witness country music in all of its glory.
This is probably their signature song. It is the song most people remember and it did hit the top of the charts if I am not mistaken. I can't imagine how many times they sung this over the span of their singing career. They were fantastic singers and a nice group of siblings.
I see the great Carol Lee right there singing back up. I wonder how many people realize how important her contributions were to the sound of the stars.
I love, love, love it. I still get chills all over, every time I hear it. It´s a masterpiece, one of a kind. I´m so sad this beautiful old country music is "gone"
My absolute favorite was Marty Robbins (I have everything from him). I can remember, the first record I ever bought, at the age of 11, was "Devil woman". Do you remember his ballads, "El paso, El paso city, Feelena", or his beautiful love songs "Love me, Begging to you, My woman, my woman, my wife" and and and. I can´t name them all. And when I was not in a good mood, I had one favorite to get me "up" again, "Tonight Carmen", it made me dance through the house (and if I´m honest - it still does). And there are many other names next to Jim Ed Brown: Bill Anderson, Jim Reeves, Tammy Wynette, George Jones, Larry Gatlin, Gene Watson, Johnny Cash, Johnny Horton, Jean Shepard, Jan Howard, Ferlin Husky and Billie Jo Spears. Here I can´t name them all either. We do have a few of the "old" ones left: Vince Gill, Willie Nelson, Kris Kristofferson, Ricky Van Shelton, Rosanne Cash. It´s so sad that people think they have to "change" everything, even music. But maybe I´m just too old to understand it.....
Jim Ed was a Wonderful Wonderful performer and singer .... I love this song and I loved to hear him do it with the rest of the Browns❤️❤️❤️ I had the pleasure and honor of getting to know Jim Ed personally, from my Band Sky King being on the TV show ( you can be a star ) .... Jim Ed was kind gentle and genuine...! 🎵❤️🎶🎸🎓
Jim Ed on this 'modern' version of the Brown's classic proves that he never lost that great voice despite his advancing years. Poignant to see Chet Atkins in the clip; probably produced the original.
I am so sad to hear the passing of Mr Jim Ed Brown .The world has lost a good singer, artist and a good human being. Loved this song. May he rest in peace in the beautiful Kingdom of Heaven. May God give his family and friends strength through this time of sorrow. Rest in peace Jimmy brown.
saw jim ed brown in Nashville 2014 twice in three days it was I the best time in my life came from Australia was devastated hearing of his passing RIP loverly man
RIP Jim Ed Brown. I grew up listening to your music. The Three Bells was my favorite. I remember listening one day to it and said mom this song can make you cry happy tears and sad. I will continue to listen to the old classics of yours and others who walk with you now in heaven. God bless you all.
Loved this song at age 12, still love it. It is music you can relate to and not something that the newer generation thinks is music. Oh well... great song!
I've been getting really sentimental and teary-eyed at this song and their wonderful, immortal version of "The Old Lamplighter". Just smooth brilliance from the Brown family.
Today Jim Ed was laid to rest. We have heavy hearts but are confident he has entered his heavenly home. He was an extraordinary performer but even more importantly an extraordinary man. RIP Jim Ed Brown. You will be greatly missed.
My mother used to play Jimmy’s songs when I was a very young boy and for years I have looked for the browns music! The only thing I could remember was the words ( Heaven fell last night) couldn’t remember who sung it! The words to that song has stuck in my brain all these years. I eventually found out who it was sung by a few years ago on RUclips, unfortunately my mother passed away long before so I wasn’t able to let her listen to the browns singing again. Would have loved to have seen her face! We lived in a country that never played any of Jimmy’s songs on the radio.
I’m sure Mom was sick of this song and I wore out the record! I turned it up and sang…can’t carry a tune in a 5 gallon bucket, but Mom never said a word. She just let me wear out the record. RIP Mom. I know you’re watching over Gracie and I. I miss you. 😞Love you so much and I can’t believe you’re not here. Im trying to help Daddy. I love you 💕 💕 ❤️
Gee- i think they are all "in Heaven now"- That song on this Tv program is probably 40, even 50 years later after Jim Ed, Bonnie and Maxine Brown did the original classic "The Three Bells' . They didn't lose a beat- Fantastic. There's only a few of the Legends left-Loretta Lynn, George Strait and a few others. Today's country for the most part isn't there anymore.
It's amazing he still has that Golden voice after all these years. I had forgotten about this song that my Dad used to listen to until I heard it in a Sopranos episode. Does anyone else think that Jim looks a little like Ralph Waite (of the Waltons TV show)?
This is one of my favorites not because it's The Three Bells it's because Jim Ed is with Maxine and Bonnie and we see them like they are still together . Love them & miss the two of them

My pops's favourite song.
I’ve loved the Browns since the 50’s when I first became aware of them !
Jim Ed Brown probably had the second best male voice ever in country music. The greatest male voice belonged to Gentleman Jim Reeves.

Mark Muffs boy did they
Nbxg,zpz,ksoq
They had other artists backing them up
Was the way it was set up for all of them there .
Agree with you. Their voices hadn't change and the Harmony was there like it was so many years ago.
I agree 👍 💯 I love ❤️ the song 🎵 The Browns
I have loved this for years. I am seventy seven years old.
Loved that song from the first time I heard it. And that was a long, long time ago. I'm 72.
This song never gets old for me.
even after all these years they voices are still great and clear, no miming, live singing, not many groups can do this and keep their voices
Maxine, I know you are so happy to be with your sister Bonnie & your brother Jim Ed again. While we here on Earth are saddened by the loss of your earthly presence. I am certain that the heavenly choir is sitting in admiration of your absolutely perfect harmonies.
I love this song. The song makes you think how precious life is. You have to live life to the fullest.

Jim Ed had a great voice and his sisters sang such great harmony. RIP Jim Ed and thanks for the great songs.
This song was played during my grandpas celebration of life video when he passed. his name happened to be jimmy brown. it's the only song he wanted.
so touching
Me and my cousin Mony listened to this song over & over. Mony is gone now ? I am 73yrs old. Wonderful memories!
It was like all those years just passed away & The Browns were back as beautiful as ever.
Beautiful. I love Chet Atkins singing along quietly...
I have listened to this song at least 5 times today, since hearing of Jim Ed's passing. I have cried each time. This is my all favorite of his songs. God bless Maxine and Bonnie as they deal with his loss. He had one of the smoothest voices in country music. A great man. R.I.P. Jim Ed.
Judy Peters Bless your heart, he is in a much better place now. I hope God will help the entire family during this painful time. He was one of a kind.
Well said Judy. It was a sad day but he leaves us with so much wonderful music. I feel his loss as do many and hope his family are able to deal with their grief. The loss of a loved one is difficult to say the least. R.I.P. Jim Ed.
They are fantastic - RIP all.
I am 66 years old and this song is nearly as old as I am. A favorite of mine since I first heard it. It is a true classic.
RIP Jim. We'll miss your wonderful voice. ♥

Classic Country Music at it's FINEST!!!

R.I.P. Bonnie. The Browns were the finest family harmony groups.
One of the best songs ever sung with such feeling.
Amazing how one song can flood your mind and heart with great memories. Sure miss Jim Ed and his sisters.
INCREDIBLE PERFORMANCE BY A WONDERFUL GROUP.

I have always loved everytime you see the Brown's sing this song Jim Ed is always looking at Bonnie and Maxine and smiling, true sibling love.
I was lucky enough to see him perform this song at the Grand Old Opry this past winter. He was a great one and will be sorely missed.
Thank you, Sopranos! For this beautiful song. Respect from Bodrum, Türkiye. ❤😊
I had two close friends play with Jim Ed for 20 years. Met him a few times and he was always very nice. Played a song on the Opry in memory of my mom.
R.I.P. Jim Ed Brown. I will miss your voice. This song has been a favorite of mine since childhood.
I always love the Browns. Our Mom would sing and us kids had to do the harmony.

Doesn't get any better!
amazing voices thank you 🥰
That has got to be the finest version of this wonderful song. And Jim Ed, Maxine, and Bonnie make it look so easy.
Loved this song at age 12, still love it. It is music you can relate to and not something that the newer generation thinks is music. Oh well... great song!
