How is “chance” a good synonym for “fortuitous” if they are not the same parts of speech?

"Chance" can be used as an adjective (ex: a chance encounter), and fortuitous is an adjective as well :)

Try memorizing the tone of the word and one synonym (rather than a long definition) - other than that, it's simply putting in the repetition and time!
