They sound so much heavier live. Their recent Bloodstock videos show how good their live tone is. Gojira is the same, imho. I prefer their live material
Have to admit these guys really were the pioneers of this particular style, all the bands now are just ripping it off and its annoying. Some are good but just not original.
Also think they speak of a lot of truth when it comes to society and the shackles of modern slavery and the frustrations that ensue. God bless em...that pain comes from somewhere deep inside.
I saw them live last night in Boston MA. and Lovgren gave me his signature Meshuggah touring pick with his name on it at the end of their set! and then I caught Thomas Haake's drumstick that he used!! I was so damn happy
I really like this version of the song, but I have to say I like the album version better because it just sounds so much more funky with the ride cymbal in that one part. Don't get me wrong though this is still an amazing rendition of the song.
Hands down one of the most influential bands in metal than not many people know of. But ask any musician and they will tell you how feeble they feel when they listen to them. Their timing is unheard of. Their rythem is just as hard as their guitar solo.
Fucking brutality at its finest. Imo the only outro I can really think of in this same vein that I like as much (maybe a bit more even) is Deliverance by opeth outro. love this outro so goddamn much tho!
Every riff in this live version of this song are the heaviest riffs in the history of mankind
agree🤘🏼
the heaviest matter of the universe
Lovgren is that badass he opens beer with a bottle of water
Yeah. Unbelievable. How tho
you can open a beer with almost anything
If you have a lighter it’s even better
@@bugman817 a snusdosa is the best
This feels tighter than the recorded version
Maybe the slightly slow pace?
Its not, just good
I feel like their tone improved too since the original album's release. Probably tighter and heavier just in that aspect in addition to performance

This song just keeps getting better as it goes
Best beer commercial I've ever watched
I been really feelin this tune as of late, especially that main riff at the end. I love how they respect riffs in general.
this song gave me the courage to destroy everything in my path for the rest of eternity
!!!
🗣💯🔥
Probably the best comment i've read.
and to erase and improve right?

Badass! Not only their music is great live, but also their stage presence is intimidating and solid.
this song gave me the courage to go for a shit when I didn't need to
4:45 so insane, this moment always gives me goosebumps
I saw them live last night in Boston MA. and Lovgren gave me his signature Meshuggah touring pick with his name on it at the end of their set! and then I caught Thomas Haake's drumstick that he used!! I was so damn happy
It's been almost a decade u still got em?
this and the mouth licking have to be the best on this DVD
The 30 seconds of riffage starting at 4:14 is my fucking favorite.
this song gave me the courage to talk to blonde girls in xalapa mexico
it’s been ten years, did you ever do it?
Them ghost notes
✨🔥🥰🔥✨
I love the ghost notes he adds on the intro in this live version. Makes it sound so much sexier
B flat Meshuggah was devastating

and live performance 1994 is much more better because of their actions on the stage
You can really hear their noise gates doing overtime in this video lol.

Those horns at 2:07 are seriously describing the Meshuggah experience for sure!
They played this live in Vancouver last night and it railed so stupidly hard.
Yup same in Seattle epic!
definitely true man definitely, i always lsn to those songs from the alive version rather than the album versions
this mix is just metal perfection
IT CAME BACK YEAH
5:00 the buildup, the breakdown, the riff.
One of the best beer ads to ever exist.

Does it get any more epic than 5:10 onwards. If so do let me know
That is probably one of the most insanely epic outros I’ve ever heard
Fucking brutality at its finest. Imo the only outro I can really think of in this same vein that I like as much (maybe a bit more even) is Deliverance by opeth outro. love this outro so goddamn much tho!
This sounds so much better with Marten and Fredrik playing through the Fractal Axe Effects. So much more bottom end.YUM !
You recommend? Can get an axe fx ultra for 370 dollars ish
@@pipespeeps5349 I think Meshuggah were using the Axe Fx II around the time this video was made. Maybe someone here might have more of a clue than me
@@whackosmack3636 i dont think so, this was in 2010 and the axe fx wasnt even out until 2011
@@pipespeeps5349 Thanks for the heads up. It sounds so much better than the original sound that they had. Maybe they were using an iso cab
@@whackosmack3636 do you mean the sound on the record?, as far as i know they plug directly in with the axe fx
5:12 this is Bones
Is it really?
For real?

i think being in xalapa takes balls !
Definitely the heaviest song there was in 1991
What a fucking song
This outro is what I hear when I forget to do what my mom asked me to do
0:43 How to destroy Slash's career in 30 seconds:

I have seen the blood of generations... we are ashamed
not really. just headbang in 4/4 and it all comes together.
The video production is no good. Too distracting
