    The last part with the melody is something unique. I've been going through a lot of shit lately and this song has helped me let out my anger and finish the song with a sort of peace. I let my emotions go at the end. It's tough but music helps.

    I'm fairly sure you're talking about the time signature. It does appear that the intro has riffs that repeat, but it's just that you're probably not able to catch the correct beat. Just concentrate a bit and try to find a pattern.

  • @ObscureBeast
    @ObscureBeast 10 лет назад +1

    SuspAnimation "Over the bar patter?" Syncopated rhythm.

    • @ObscureBeast
      @ObscureBeast 10 лет назад

      It's not called over the bar pattern it's called a syncopated rhythm.

    • @squiresuzuki
      @squiresuzuki 10 лет назад +1

      Gerard King what he's describing is definitely not syncopation. SuspAnimation is actually correct, although they're most often called polymeters (and even more often incorrectly called polyrhythms).

    • @8BitJustice
      @8BitJustice 10 лет назад +3

      Andrew Suzuki Technically speaking, Meshuggah doesn't play polymeters. Meshuggah is almost always in 4/4. They simply arrange the riffs in such a way that they are either longer/shorter than a 4/4 measure, count the time in 4/4, and cycle the riffs until it ends at the end of a 4/4 measure. Technically, it COULD be played as a polymeter, but in all actuality, it's pretty much 100% 4/4 that just sounds like polymeters.

    • @squiresuzuki
      @squiresuzuki 10 лет назад +3

      Justice4AllOne Ergh....not to be rude but maybe look up the definition of polymeters? Sure it's almost always in 4/4, but there's also almost always a superimposed melody that could be notated in another time signature.
      Had this argument so many times, might as well go ahead and post the stinger. a music theorist/analyst's chapter on the polymeters of Meshuggah:
      www.scribd.com/doc/6375990/Re-casting-Metal-Rhythm-and-Meter-in-the-Music-of-Meshuggah
      See page 222 for a transcription of Rational Gaze, for example.

    • @AntoineHorns
      @AntoineHorns 8 лет назад

      +Justice4AllOne You say they don't do polymeters and then describe polymers in your comment. Superimposing musics of different time signatures is the definition of a polymeter.
