@@Kane.JimLahey. I'm actually working on a video for that right now. I will be leaving on vacation for three weeks on Friday, so I don't think I'll have it done by then, but it will be out before the end of the year. Great recommendation. That game is amazing.
I'm still playing this game ain't nothing better than blasting zenomorphs away between this, Alien Romulus & the upcoming Alien tv series this is a good time for us die hard Aliens fans
@@chination1796 It really is a good time to be an Alien fan. I totally forgot about that TV show they are making. Hopefully that's good. If you're interested I have a review for Alien Isolation dropping on Thursday you can watch. Thank you for taking the time to comment.
After abandoning Helldivers 2 I got back into this and whereas I only tackled the Extreme difficulty occasionally before, in a rather short time I have gotten into Extreme and Insane difficulty thoroughly now and when the team is right it is a blast. Can be frustrating when the host has really bad connection and things start teleporting or somebody has MVP syndrome and TRIES TO dance through the alien hordes at level 20 ahead of everyone as if they were still playing Intense. Other players just run by you to go for the next horde after you try to lure a Prowler and get pounced. Egoistical players can ruin the experience a bit, but there are players in the game (crossplay can not be befriended) that I always like coming across again. Don't expect a perfect game, but if you're an Alien universe fan this is the best thing around from the modern times. If you don't have the DLC, these missions on higher difficulty are definitely a step up in said difficulty compared to the main campaign missions. I am yet to beat the last queen mission on insane with anything else but 3 Demolishers and the Plus Ultra card.
The hardest difficulty is absolutely crazy. It's honestly hardcore you're able to complete some of those missions. The difficulty spike for the DLC is also huge. I forgot to bring that up in this video, so I appreciate you brought it up here. I hope you're able to finish those levels up one day.
@@BoomanReviews Thank you for your reply :) Everything is more strategic on Insane and you have to be satisfied with a certain role even more so than on lower ones. I have a technician loadout that I really like that is specifically there to stumble and knockdown enemies. It doesn't have the highest damage output there could be, but it is really good at slowing down the game even more for the other players. Explosives are great on a Demolisher for clearing out chaff so you don't have to be so careful where you evade to when taking down the chunky big boy that just doesn't want to go down xD Use the lower difficulties where your teammates already take damage from friendly fire (but not as much) to learn the trigger discipline and the explosion radius of the reapon you would like to play. Wasn't a fan of them for a long long time, but the impact grenade launcher has really grown on me :) Always walk/run around with your Primary weapon and only take out your explosive friend consciously when needed, so you don't shoot something out of reflex with a 2k damage rocket launcher when it spawns 3 feet ahead of you xD your teammates will also thank you for it :) Know when to use it. If you like playing Gunner, get a long Overclock with fast cooldown and see how your team will love it. 50% percent additional damage from the entire team for a longer time and returning faster can be a lifesaver and is better than a Gunner chucking a one-hit-kill grenade at everything that you are currently shooting at xD You kind of need to have one eye on the radar at all times. When there is a spawn in front AND behind you, don't sit still and see which spawn comes to you first, take initiative and push the spawn behind you hard. Be a good guy in a firing line with your squad (especially DON'T stand front and center, that is worst lol), but also know when to leave said firing line before it gets nasty with xenomorphs. Trigger discipline is your biggest friend. If your buddy is a little bit too close to your firing line on the xeno morph, but you could hit it if he doesn't move: Don't shoot. Your friend WILL move and you will hit him and there is a lot of FF. If he is standing in a stupid spot that takes up too much space and leaves none for you: Walk up to him and give him a melee to signal him to move. Most understand what you mean. You don't need to shoot at everything when you see your friend can handle it. That also builds trust in a team when your teammate turns around and saw you had his back but weren't greedy for the kills. It's stuff like that that is valuable when the bugs have a ton of hp :) These are some tips for playing on Extreme and Insane. I know you didn't ask for it, but I just got up at 6:30 on a Saturday morning and felt like sharing some stuff I learned xD Edit: Enjoy your time on AFE :) It's been cool to see that review from you 3 years after the game's release, and just about a month or so after I got back into a major playing streak haha. So good :)
@@BoomanReviews oh yeah I almost forgot, I have finished all missions on Insane at least with one class, the very last mission of the DLC was a fluke happening on quickplay with 3 demolishers and the Plus Ultra card... I haven't finished this mission on Extreme once yet and to be fair I did die before the end battle was finished on that mission xD
@@im3phirebird81 I honestly appreciate all the tips. I've been kicking around playing this title again, and if I do, I'm going to try the hardest difficulty, so the advice is good to have, lol. It's also really cool to see how many people are passionate about this title because posting this three years after launch led me to believe it was going to be overlooked, but this video has done pretty well (for my channel's standards, lol).
One of best co-op shooters, 3.7k hrs in it and ain't no stopping
I salute you
Have you tried Space Marine 2? Very similar style game, plus plenty of xenos to slay

After reading this comment. I'm in.
I bought it on sale recently on Steam, paid like 15 dlls, including the DLC, and God, it was a great purchase.
That's great to hear and you got all the content for a really good price. It's nice to see more people can grab a copy for an affordable price.
Enjoy kicking some Alien butt :)

Just got this on Xbox for $9. Also bought it for my buddy and we're having a great time with it!
me too, seems a great and fun game to play
If only I'd seen this video sooner when xbox had a sale on this😢
It will be on sale again at some point. Until then we have Alien: Romulus to keep us excited. I just hope it's good.
@@BoomanReviews true on it being for sale in the future. Looking forward to seeing Romulus. Just watched Deadpool/ Wolverine.
What did you think of Deadpool & Wolverine?
