Bulk of the work in a war will be done by these aircrafts. Like Su25 is doing now. Others like Su30 or F35, although interesting on paper will be used less. In Kargil it was MiG27 which did lot of work but Mirage2000 took the limelight.
I think that the A10 is more useful than jaguar because it has 11 hard point and can be used against Pakistan in the Desert regions But still I don't think Jaguar is bad 😊 If we can get 50 A10 fighters from US we can deploy it to Pakistan border and complement the Indian Tanks😊😊
Least we could have done for these work horses , give them the new R&R Honeywell Engines , at what , 14 billion for all the 80 units in service ?? That's a penny to spend compared to the life extension it would have had , 20 yrs & with DARIN 3 upgrade , it's potent even to launch Rampage & Other Smart Munitions , Throw in the DAS & MAWS , it would have been a potent Hunter Killer in the Sky , for next 2 Decades Go further , add in the Virupaksha AESA Radar, Long Stand Off BVR - Astra MK2 .... It was so bad that Coalition forces specifically asked US to not send A10 to provide air support to their troops. It is exponentially worse than regular CAS mishaps .

Jaguar and A10 both have such low thrust then why have Kaveri engine not be used in some aircraft over the years considering it is far more powerful.
