Why Tesla's Model Y Received A 5-Star Crash-Test Rating - Авто/Мото
I swear those people who crash test cars have the most fun in the car industry lol
I know, right?
That's how they relieve stress😂
Ikr I wanna have a job like that plus ya get paid to have fun!
Especially at Tesla
@DoctorDamm no its pain for me to🤣

Ok
Hey wham baam
Wow! Wham Baam is here!
Lol wassssssup
Can I have a shout out pls
The tech stuff is great, but the safety in Teslas is one of the biggest selling points for me. The Cars arent cheap by any means but i feel like that extra piece of mind is absolutely worth it.
check out volvos, they’re p safe too
We placed an order last week. I've been running much older cars (and still do) but the safety advances in the past decade alone are huge and with more and more morons on the road, there comes a point where safety is a very high priority.
Safety is cool but gd they are fun to drive. That’s what sold me on one.
Considering the average price for a vehicle now is about $46,000 USD, the tesla is cheaper or average with most everything else out there. Aside from the Chevy bolt, tesla model 3 is by far cheaper than any other EV. $60k+ for a Volkswagen or Kia? Yeah right! Best part of tesla is they give you full performance even on base models. Other EV vehicles always feel like they’re holding out on you and throttling down the power.
Model 3 is pretty damn cheap imho
Electric zero emissions, sports car performance, can sit the whole family and it's incredibly safe. Damn
There is no way to sufficiently dispose of the car’s battery after the vehicle is through with using, it can not be recycled
@@cartercadwallader2256 aren't there companies that recycle car batteries by refurbishing them
@@jeanlafrance8746 that's not how batteries work
@@jeanlafrance8746 There is though not through refurbishing, I believe. I watched a video how a former Tesla employee created a company just for recycling almost 100% of battery components/materials.

Showed this video to my wife and now we are in the process of ordering 2 Teslas. Amazing engineering.
I wouldn't order 2 at once there build quality is known to be lacking I would buy one first to makes sure its built to your standards.
She's a keeper! Hopefully my wife and I will get one in the next 5y
Mercedes-Benz has achieved these crash test results since 2011 this is nothing new in the world of vehicle crash testing Tesla engineers have simply copied the hard work and engineering of other German automakers
Can you adopt me guys ?
If your wife won’t let you buy a car without seeing safety tell her stay in her place unless she’s putting some $$$ toward it
Even when it is the safest car, just remember Rule 0 : Do not crash your car.
Every vehicle Tesla comes out with receives the highest safety rating because the engineering is so good
In my opinion the 2022 Acura NSX is 10X better than tesla
@@supercarlegend did u watch the video foo
@@supercarlegend Okay but it's not more safe. This video is about safety.

Many cars receive 5 star ratings

Cuz it's a crossover and that's what Tesla claims 😀
@@sibtainraza8673 Lol, no. SUVs can be smaller, and both the defender and jeep are ugly boxes of vehicles. Barely qualify as cars
It should be called the Tesla X, as in X for cross or crossover. The SUV should have been the Y. Tesla dropped the ball on this one. 😂

Like I understand extensive testing is needed, but damn, that's a lot of crashed Teslas. They also probably just recycle them.
You can buy those crash test cars and fix them I forgot what the website is but they don't throw them away😊 quick google search and it should pop up. They auction all cars they test. Idk about title status though...
@@potatoes7834 yes you can. Lithium-ion batteries are already being recycled
@@potatoes7834 who told you that? Trump?
I don't know for the NHTSA crash tests, but all cars crash tested by EuroNCAP can't be recycled for safety reasons. Which is pretty logic 😀

This was a huge selling point for me. Sure, the performance is nice, as well as Autopilot and the Supercharger network. But if I or my loved ones ever got in a car accident, I'd want to be in one of the safest cars out there. Cars can be replaced, human lives can't.
Very good testing!
Bought one. This doesn’t mention ALL the incredible pre-collision warnings all Tesla vehicles include as standard features. Thank you Tesla!!!
Lol true. They need to update the tests but turning them on first and giving them a chance to hit their breaks :)

Once off-roaders realize what a low center of gravity means for them in a electric truck it will be game over for the ICE
In Germany the car manufacturers don’t sell their cars if they don’t reach 5 stars in the NCAP. They improve it until they get the fifth star, everything below would be a damage to their reputation.
i love this. safety should be most important!

Insider lovesss Teslas...
Thing about this is that it's not just engineered to have the highest safety ratings possible. Combine that with how much better their autopilot is getting over time you'll still have an incredibly safe vehicle with an autopilot capable of driving safer than a human can. Double whammy.
it will be years before FSD actually gets better than a human driver. Full Selfdriving is still far out but Autopilot (however missleading and falsely advertising the name might be, since it is NOT full self driving) is a very good assistant to a human driver. They might had been better off calling it Copilot instead, atleast until actual full self driving is a thing.
I'm looking forward to the Cybertruck crash test ratings
56 kmph is not the danger zone for most cars crashing..
Any test should see what happens at 70 to 80 kms per hour..
Because if two cars are coming at each other than the speed of crash or impact is more..
These tests are only showing what happens if the car crashes in to something stationery like a wall , tree ,pole, or another car that's idle..
Looks like all car makers can get around the rules using technical terminology..
All things such seems clearly an eye wash..
then by all means buy a tank, no car is 100% safety from high speed collisions.
Myth busters actually tested that, but as in newtons third law of motion every action has a equal and opposite reaction, it is actually the same as crashing into a stationary object, unless they weigh different or are going different speeds in which case one would be sent backwards which is pretty bad....
Check EuroNCAP
The objects they are crashing into are non-deformable objects versus when you crash into a moving vehicle of similar mass it is deformable and susceptible to impulse changes and moment of inertia. Physics class are in order for thee.
bro there’s so much you can do with a car to make it safe. even the safest cars won’t do much against a collision higher than 40 mph
This is why I bought one for my family, #1 reason.
The rest is just a cherry on top.😊
and then people still complain that it doesn't make "car sounds"
it's cheaper to drive, daver to drive and faster to drive
I also want my car to be more Dave. 😉
Still is a computer with wheels though
@@igortchelzoff3736 And that's a bad thing, how? As a tech nerd, it's basically the perfect car.

@@igortchelzoff3736 I mean you can have fun driving whatever you want, some people like the quick acceleration and technology available in EVs along with the novelty of autopilot which comes in real handy on long trips. Different generations seem to have different ways of enjoying cars.
I ordered another TESLA Model Y, all my family and friends have Tesla. It's the safest car in the world. Great job Tesla engineers and Tesla team. Tesla is the future. Thank you Elon Musk.
I want to know the roof strength of the model Y is there any way to find out?
3:42 looks so beautiful with that color.
In all vehicles I’d like to see thicker centre air bags, there is way too much sore head movement especially
from passenger, one day there will be bags in rear of front seats as well.
The best strength/weight is wild when you think of how heavy these cars are too. It's 2x as heavy and this means it's OVER 2x as strong
Brings tears to my eyes watching such perfection getting totaled.
But it helps to keep us safer on the roads
Gotta love Tesla amiright
Thats why im getting one :)
Congrats on being the 69th comment
Where do you live and whats the price ?
Elon said he thinks it could be the number 1 car in the world in a few years
EVs are horrible. They depreciate the fastest out of any car and are not reliable. They aren't a good buy for now. Maybe in a few years time things will be different.
@@TheSuperBoyProject later one yes cuz right now its to pricy.
you can also see the tesla sometimes automaticly applies the brakes when crashed
What about a highway speed crash test? Will it catch fire from a 40-85 mph crash?
How many cars are used for a comprehensive test of a model?
So many cars receive 5 stars nowadays. Time to innovate
Literally every Tesla is so good they withstand almost anything
I’m dying to see what the cybertruck exoskeleton does
Bring back the Yugo!
I am curious why they don't test rear impacts. It seems like rear impacts are completely ignored.
They should do a new crash test with self driving on and see how many things it dodges
If only I can afford one here in sg. 😅
Im not a big fan of ev but wow thats amazing
Why not? It's progress.
You'll be forced to like EVs to when gas prices go through the roof. Not a matter of if, but when.

It's air bags, shaped like a Catcher's mit, seem novel too. I've never seen an air bag that protects on 3 sides like that. Might not be the best judge though.
Is the third row safe?
Still insurance companies charges twice saying it is a premium car disregarding the safety.
I’m low key jealous of people who actually went and bought a Tesla. I have two E Klasse mercs instead, but still it would be nice to be part of a rave
That window glass is scary.
So every test programme for a new model consumes about 10 vehicles, or more?
Seems a bit tricky to find this data online, but I googled around and found a source that says there are currently 9 standardized tests for production vehicles in the US. It was also stated that most manufacturers use between 30 and 60 vehicles per model tested. If correct, I assume that includes manufacturers' internal testing.
If you're curious about how the Cybertruck could achieve similar results, even with a more solid shell, I made a video about that on my channel.
Thanks
Safety first
I’d buy one but I’d still have my LS1 240sx still in the stable
Totally different use case. Not comparable. It's almost as dramatic as having a Truck & Tractor.
You have a 240SX? Hold to that thing man...
I just wish Tesla would salvage undamaged parts such as batters and e.t.c since it’s still a young company and parts/components are finite. Would reduce the cost of the cars too
how many cars (Model Y) were destroyed?
So as a new driver does my insurance go Down do to the safety of my vehicle or is that a different topic
Im not sure where you live but where we do my mom switched from a 2008 Ford Escape to a model Y last year and her insurance only went up $10. Because of all the safety features. Same insurance plan too.
Yes the safer a car the lower the premium usually. That being said because Tesla parts are harder to come by so insurance premiums for Teslas are higher than average. Its worth the cost.
Safety protects you, not the car. And car insurance has nothing to do with your health.
The expensive car is wrecked either way.
What affects insurance rates is how often and expensive that type of car gets in accidents and gets stolen. And your insurance history for your driving and your age.
At least where I live.
That said the active safety features result in a lower accident rate so the insurance should go down.
It totally depends on the insurance company. Are they looking at this data or not. The people who insure with companies who look at the data say its cheaper to insure this than a Honda Civic. Alternatively if the insurance company doesn’t look at the data, then it’ll be as expensive as any other luxury car at that price.
@@PoliticalJames yup, my moms insured for everything, it’s because teslas have regenerative braking, the insurance is able to be insanely lower than that of a normal car with standard braking systems. You should check with your local insurance to see how much it would cost. Teslas are cheap to insure because the safety is amazing. :)
The test dummy is an amputee… no wonder they keep crashing
I most likely wont get myself an EV for principal reasons but if I would consider one, it would be the Tesla Model Y. Incredibly safe car.
What principal reasons?
As long as it doesnt catch fire randomly and disable your electronic door handles you should be ok
I had a huge diesel hit my model 3 and the diesel fish tailed while my car barely even moved. I watched the accident over and over again. I will never buy any other vehicle. ❤
Heartbreaking watching these tests :-[
Elon truly did make America great again. 🇺🇸 ⚡️🚀

Great engineering. Average working wage still can’t afford it.
It's $58,000. That's the average price for a crossover now. Give it 5 years and it'll drop. Always buy used if on a budget.
Average working wage can’t afford any new car. New cars are expensive and deprecate a lot in just the first week. 80% of people in the US buy a used car anyways.
