One of Australias greatest bowlers highly underrated...he was the swing genius..on par with wasim. It was such ashame that mike whitney was at his best towards the end of his career..he also started to really bowl great line and length and swing the ball.
Two series in England - 12 matches, 83 wickets average 19. Don’t think anyone else has ever taken as many in two series in England. One of the best actions, like Richard Hadlee.
I remember going on a student union march in London in the summer of 1981 to protest against the Tory Government where amongst the banners on display was one that read: "THATCHER OUT! (LBW bwld Alderman). As well as being amusing in itself, i have always thought this a measure of how quickly Alderman's strangle hold on the England batting was recognised. He was a very fine medium fast wicket to wicket bowler. If he beat the bat and hit the pads it was odds on the batsman was out!
Out of all the English batsman Gatting would have to be the most Australian like , I have to respect how pissed off he is at getting out. I can tell he loves the fight.
There's no finer sight in cricket than watching Lord Botham's middle stump get uprooted by a 'colonial' from Western Australia. Alderman had a superb run up and bowling action.
Just so people know this is my one of my cousins because he is my dad’s cousin so he’s mine they are really nice. And his sister is just as an amazing player. If you don’t believe me then you don’t but it’s true because there dad is my dads dad brother. So they were always close.
Some seriously bad batting on display here. Many of the edges could easily have been left. Look where Boycott ends up - standing virtually outside of a second set of stumps waving his rhubarb around... Alderman was a great bowler though
Don't think you are giving the bowler enough credit that ball to Boycott was a rip snorter of a leg cutter look how far it seams away on the replay. Don't think leaving the ball against him was a very smart tactic if you watch highlights from 1989 Ashes
Man, every aspect of his bowling like his run-up, action, swing etc is perfect just like written in the book.

If Alderman hadn't been injured by being attacked by a spectator I believe he would have been one of our great test bowlers rivaling Glen McGrath
Prior to the injury to his collarbone, Alderman Waa also known for express pace, he had such a range of deliveries
Even Though Australia Lost The 1981 Ashes Series In England 3-1 The One Bright Spark Was Terry Alderman's 42 Wickets In The Series!😀🏏4️⃣2️⃣🏟️🇦🇺

Imagine how good he would have been if he was born in England!
Terry Alderman Australia best Swing Bowler. Great Western Australian...
You may want to consider RAL Massie in your calculations. I watched him take 16 wickets in a test match v England.
@@steveheathcote4307 Masie Petered Out By 1973!😒🏏🏟️🇦🇺
