I have played through this game many times, and watched several speed runs and walkthroughs. But I have NEVER seen that cut scene with Rebecca and Richard before! 23 years later!
Just want to say thanks for the video , I think like a lot of people I am replaying RE:DC on playstation right now and although I didn't use your video verbatim it really helped me learn about things like enemy pathing (yawn , hunters) , pause cancelling and how black tiger can destroy the web! managed to get a 2:25run with Chris.

Great run. I just got a 1:33 today with Jill on Arrange mode but I used the infinity colt and rocket launcher. I'm also playing on the mini Playstation classic and have auto aim on which is nice but my controller doesn't have an analog stick so I'm not navigating too efficiently. Also I didn't save anyone on my last run. I even killed Barry. I don't mess with those mofo mo disc's! Peace Carcinagen
To the point of the music fitting a certain theme, I get that they were going for uncomfortable, but I feel like the og ost did that just fine and it was like lightning in a bottle for the time. I still say if i has to pick one from this. Lab b3 is ok

Look, I get it, you’re a fan, but I don’t do something just because it’s trending on social media for 14 days. It’s a redundant garbage practice that too many youtubers do that adds nothing to my overall content. It’s the internet equivalent of shoveling shit out onto the internet just to get a few views. The only reason you make demo content is for news and archival purposes. Why should I bother putting out a speedrun video for it when the final game comes out in two weeks? I already said everything I needed to say about the demo in that one video because Capcom already gave me like 4 hours of playtime between E3 and Tokyo Game Show. It becomes redundant ephemeral content, and will be irrelevant as soon as the game comes out.

It would be amazing to see Nemesis with the ability to track you no matter where you're at so you have really escape him, not just get to a screen where he can't pursue you anymore.
Carsi, I have a question for you; I'm sure you're aware of the infinite Colt Python unlockable if you get the best ending on arrange mode no matter the time at least that's my understanding. Question is will it be unlocked if you are to highlight arrange mode and hit the right d-pad button to get the easier version of arrange mode? And does this work for either character?

I found an optional cutscene with Rebecca in the V-Jolt room, where Umbrella is first mentioned, but only years later. I've watched your previous RE1 classic vids and thought that you would know all the event routes. Please help?
Good question. it depends on which rooms you enter first. For RE1 (not REmake) going to the Blue Room with the 1F Map as Jill then going to the terrace (before going to Jill Sandwich route) gets Barry to spawn there. Going to Richard before going to the 1F Serum Room gets the alternate Richard scene. Letting Richard die is the same as telling Rebecca “no” at the save room, except you rescue Rebecca from the Hunter in the library instead of the West Stairwell. Rebecca appears only in the V-jolt room during a “yes” route.
I got done doing a third Jill run on the DS version of this and holy hell, the dual shock version's music feels so out of place after hearing the original OST. Not including the mansion basement, but in general with the music.
The live action filmed bits and that distinct 90's video game voice acting give the first 3 Biohazard games a decidedly terrible B-movie feel and I wouldn't have it any other way. That feeling, among other things, is missing from the remakes but thankfully they're at least still legitimate survival horror games.
I did the first 18 minutes the same as you did, but when i came back to Richard he is dead and Rebecca not there. Playing german/eu Resi 1 DC dual shock arrange mode. Update: when i bring the serum instant, he lives and rebecca is there too. I think the eu version has a timer for those quests.
I do remember about super thick floppy disks which were an improvement over the normal floppy disks before CDs came in. But I don't think they were that thick...
The way I remember were the 5" ones that were actually bendable (hence floppy disk) then they moved to the slightly thicker and non bendable 3.5" disks.
I'm playing this on an emulator and I was wondering about that opening cutscene. The violence was toned down in my game compared to your version. I'm assuming it's because you're playing in Japanese.

alternate Chris Is one of the most difficult scenarios in all of resident evil game
Played RE1 and RE2 both twice to see most of the story. On to the first Remake because I haven't beaten it yet. It looks so real it's scary again. :(

I like the Arrange mode too. The re-arranged item placements are a nice twist, and I really like the Arrange mode-exclusive costumes.
