Considering Rob Parker's background, I just find him to be kind of inarticulate. I think you get into trouble getting into this kind of thing on a sports show. Discuss his play, or if he does something stupid off the field that affects his team. But to get into issues of how black he is, his politics, the race/ethnicity of his fiance, you're asking for trouble. I think ESPN wasn't thrilled with Parker's work, so they used this as the excuse to show him the door.

I think if you understand what he actually meant it's not wrong, he just said in a wrong and inappropriate way.

"it was more about concerns then condemning" What concerns? RG3 is one of the most humble, classiest, nicest, most professional players in the NFL

Understand his point of view! Because RG3 looks sooo corny. So it's true what he said but national t. v... Yikes! But he is right a lot if blacks try very hard to disassociate them selves from there black side!!

So are you suggesting this isn't an issue? When groups of people conform to the mainstream, do they not lose a little of themselves?

You are not going to see that much of it,white men just have different taste in women than black men.many of them view black women as fat, while black men would call it thick. Also the cultural barriers are just too much too deal with in this day and age.White and black couples are ridiculed and targeted even though people says its post racial society its clearly not.

Superficial things can be the result of those issues of self-hate and lack of self-identication, but they aren't the root issue. Obviously I don't know these celebrities, but there is certainly evidence to this point. It would be pointless for me to point out people I know personally with this issue as its not as if you would know who I'm referring to. Anyway I can see we're just going to go round and round on this. Good day.

  • @Antrizzle2009

I think alot of people are still missing the point of what he was trying to say. Yes he failed in his execution of the message, but the point remains there. Alot of black celebrities and people of stature in general tend to drift away from their roots and being associated with being black. This has been an issue for years and the way black people keep sweeping it under the rug is diconcerting to put it best.
