@@Ratchet3Mark It depends on how important it is for you to have as little bottleneck and how many games that you play that it will happen as it is cheap to upgrade just for a few games and very little improvement in real world performance (don't forget that devs can make changes which might remove bottleneck or add more of it even with a new CPU just buy releasing patches).
I would suggest to also look for AMDs CPU, if that would improve issues you might have with lows in some games. It is possible that Ryzen 7 5800X3D with more cache on CPU core could be better for your usage or the upcoming 7000 series CPUs with 3D cache, if they would be priced in reasonable range. With 5800X3D you can use your DDR4 RAM and with 7000X3D series CPU you would need to get DDR5 RAM (and motherboard with AM5 socket which still cost more then AM4(+)).
Before I forget it, you might also need more powerful PSU, with RTX 4090 I would expect you have at least enough power to run that card stable, but with both Intels 13 gen. and AMD AM5 CPUs (at least 7000X series are rated above 100 W TDP, non X version at 65 Watt) you might need to look on a new PSU with more power to be able to possible overclock CPU and other cost that is easy to forget from going from one plat form to another.

@@evostu7814 i wish i would have convinced myself not to get a cpu upgrade lol. i had a 8700k at 5.2ghz and upgraded to a 13700k at 5.6ghz. bench marked 5 games. all the exact same. my biggest gain was 2 fps in strange brigade and i was already pushing 195fps.. what a let down lol
