  • Chen style Tai Chi has more in common with Kung Fu than does Yang style Tai Chi. The Chen style features a more energetic performance, involving slow and fast, passive and aggressive movements punctuated by short pauses and explosive startups. This style is more appropriate for intermediate and advanced Tai Chi students, who possess the speed and flexibility to perform fast movements and leaps. This form is performed by Grandmaster Yong So of TaiChi-Interactive.com

    you have to take into account that as styles are passed down, the forms can change either subtly or drastically. As long as it works; thats the only thing that matters.

    I believe this is a version of the Yi Lu form that doesn't go all the way to the end, not the Chen 36 competition form. At least, it looks a lot like my Yi Lu form which is very different from the Chen 36 I've learned.
