Happy to see that my fundamentals as a Boxer carry over lol At one point Boxing matches comprised of a Rd of Swords, Staffs, and then Boxing which was essentially Bare Knuckle MMA at the time. For a long time Boxing masters were also Sword Masters and I've read Boxing was a foundational art to learn the fundamentals of the sword.
It's nice to see someone talking sense, there's a lot of nonsense out there, so it's refreshing to see someone who understands body mechanics, balance, movement and power generation.
Thank you! I appreciate the compliment. The nice thing about this sport/martial art is that everything is pressure tested. If it doesn't work you will find out real quick in a fight. It helps get rid of most of the martial arts "magic" you see out there. Fighting is fighting is fighting.
@@woodchuckknight7820 yes, I've been doing steel combat since '86, (amongst other martial arts), I totally agree. Infact, its a great way to test material from oriental martial arts too,... Although my budo buddies think I'm crazy and won't come and play.
Long way from actually trying this sport but I love seeing its fundamentals. A true martial art, no joke. Thanks!
Thank you man and hope you get a chance to join and try someday

It certainly is. There are some adjustments to how you balance when in armor vs out of armor but the fundamentals definitely transfer over
Thanks so much for the tips and the video. Love seeing these kinds of videos. Not enough out there for Buhurt.
Glad you find them helpful!
@@woodchuckknight7820 They really are. Thanks once again.
