AWESOME VIDEO RON. Makes me feel like a total ignorant, but being a newbie in RC i have to learn to live with it. It really helps to have people who know what they are doing around us, to share their knowledge and help us avoid painful mistakes. Saying that, i already ordered a cheap one , ranks around middle of your list. But, i guess i have no doubt now, i need to order a good checker. Batteries are not to play with as i have learned from the many videos i have seen on You Tube. Keep up the great work buddy.....sub earned here....
I just realized that the 3 worst checkers you tested are the ones I have. I will definitely be ordering the latest and most accurate which is either the futaba, JR or the Hyperion or all of them since I keep checkers in the car, office, tool box and in my field box, now when a situation comes up that requires a battery checker I will have one available anywhere, anytime and with accuracy. . . thanks for the video. I feel better equipped. .:)
Ron, really nice video. Made me think about my "cheapo" Lipo Voltage Checker. Did a short test with two 3S Lipos at hand. Fluke 175 "cheapo" Cell 1 - 3.863V 3.86V Cell 2 - 3.862V 3.86V Cell 3 - 3.865V 3.86V Cell 1 - 3.913V 3.91V Cell 2 - 3.897V 3.88V Cell 3 - 3.913V 3.91V OK. The Fluke is not calibrated, but for me, the ~$2 Lipo Voltage Checker will do ....
I probably gave the Venom more credit than it deserves. It did well in earlier tests, but in this final test it had a couple readings that were off quite a bit.
+Ron Lund Good Video... good points made throughout. Generally, when I am using a voltage checker it is a go, no-go decision. I don't try to squeeze the last mahr out of the battery and fly to zero. I like the voltage checker that you smashed. I have not had as many failures as you report. I like being able to have the buzzer on the heli to stop the flight. Now I am not so certain because of the accuracy. I have two of the HiTec checkers and use them a lot to balance out of wack lipos. It does not have the Nicd capability though. I am not so sure of my iCharger 306 and 310 voltages. I think that it is time to buy one of the good checkers (JR) and keep the others for quick checking. I wish that the charger manufacturers had a balance feature... plug battery in, and balance it like the HiTec except a bit faster.
Incredible video by Ron! It started dry, but quickly captured my interest - even for a nitro dude like me! So glad I got the Futaba checker :> Thanks Ron!!!
Hi Ron thanks for all your great videos, I bought an Eznov Neuron 9 axis flybarless system. And I have looked all over the place for a set up video in English. All I have seen are a couple very short sparse review videos in English. And there are some very good quality setup videos but they are all in French. I was wondering if you knew of someone with a neuron who could make a video in English. Or where I might find one. Thanks Much have a great day.
I have several 1 cell lipos can you recommend a meter, the Hyperion is 2 to 8 cell I have one on order for my other lipos. Did you get to test version 3 yet?
Hello, I'm airsoft practitioner, and do not know much about the batterias buy a test of those of TENERGY $ 10 I believe not to be good, but okay, need to measure the batteria at intervals of not running out batteria to games in the middle game. How would I do for a batteria of NIMH type already plug and different not connect this equipment, the connection and Tamiya Connector for airsoft guns. You could give me a little help, Thank you. Very good your videos! Daniel
None of the "On board" checkers work with NiMh. I do have a thing called a GEM2000 that might work. It would have an LED that would indicate low voltage. As for the connector, you would need to make and adapter.
+Ron Lund sounds good. Look forward to your test results and if they match the original I'll buy a few more. I end up giving away my checkers to new guys. LOL
What can I say Ron, we all miss you buddy.

Thanks Ron, I have always liked your no nonsense approach to our hobby! Great test, thanks a lot!
Loved it! Saved me $20 - $30 knowing now that a couple of these are overkill for my purpose. Thank you for sharing these results :)
Ron, really nice video.
Made me think about my "cheapo" Lipo Voltage Checker.
Did a short test with two 3S Lipos at hand.
Fluke 175 "cheapo"
Cell 1 - 3.863V 3.86V
Cell 2 - 3.862V 3.86V
Cell 3 - 3.865V 3.86V
Cell 1 - 3.913V 3.91V
Cell 2 - 3.897V 3.88V
Cell 3 - 3.913V 3.91V
OK. The Fluke is not calibrated, but for me, the ~$2 Lipo Voltage Checker will do ....
good to see you back making videos Ron. your tail rotor basics and Beastx videos were very helpful.
I probably gave the Venom more credit than it deserves. It did well in earlier tests, but in this final test it had a couple readings that were off quite a bit.

Hello Ron, sorry but my english is not to good, which modell of the Lipo Checker would you recommend me, which is the best?
Many THX from Germany!

Hello. I am actually looking for a decent 1 cell checker. Hy home solar rig won't accommodate the multi cell meters. Can you recommend? thanx.
Steve, I would probably use a simple multi-meter.
It looks like the Hyperion 3 is out what do think of it
It isn't nearly as accurate as the old one. Honestly, it looks like they might have outsourced it.
thanks
Great informative video, Thank you very much for taking the time.
;)
thanks for the info ron
The Hyperion is up to Version 3 now, with passive storage discharger and balancer ...

Thank you so much!
You are very good!!!!
Great video, thanks. Looks like the Hyperion unit is getting an upgrade. Do a search for: HP-EOS8SENT3
+Doug Bowman Thanks Doug. I have them on order. I hope they are as accurate as the original. I'll be testing them.

Doug, I did test the V3. It's "Okay", but not nearly as accurate as the old one.
Thanks much. Bummer the accuracy decreased.
GREAT
Poor audio and volume
You know you don't have to read them we can see on the screen
