- On 12 February 2002, Queen Elizabeth II visited Booth House in Whitechapel, the headquarters of homelessness charity the Salvation Army. Wearing clothes of mourning, the Queen made her visit only four days after the death of her sister, Princess Margaret, Countess of Snowdon. While the monarch focused her conversations on the work of Booth House and the experiences of those living there, the Queen was asked by one member of the public how she was coping with the loss of her sibling.

The country was strengthened by her presence and diminished by her loss.
@@ArronHawkenMine is different so you’re wrong
@@liamb8644 and mine, I’m ‘bedridden’ though I hate that phrase, I’m on my own a lot so often leave the news on the tv just for background noise, whenever ‘The Queen’ is mentioned I automatically look up, only to be disappointed yet again. I have a full size cardboard cut out of Queen Elizabeth next to the tv though so not all bad!
RUBBISH
Why are people ridiculous fawning over another human being who takes the piss on state benefits.
@@Mancunianblue Because she dedicated her life to the work of the nation. You and your multiple children get state benefits for sweet nothing.
A remarkable lady whose service and dedication to duty will never be seen again in our lifetime
our King has that dedication to duty, Anne does, our Queen Mother etc
and William has dedicated his life to duty and service
Along with Princess Diana dedication and remarkable service
@@lsmith9249 correct forgetting Princess Diana no one eclipsed
@@lsmith9249we don’t have a Queen Mother
Whenever the Queen is mentioned now I still think of THE Queen. I can’t get to grips with calling Camilla Queen
I'll genuinely miss Queen Elizabeth.
When?! Most of us have been missing her since the second her death was announced!
you will. don;t you yet then?
And she really looked into his eyes when he asked the question.
Not her usual glance.
At that moment he got close to the Queen - it surely was a unique experience - for both of them.
He may not even have cared that much beyond being human. These ppl were homeless and had their own pressing problems.
@@misst.e.a.187I am sorry but people genuinely loved her. You cannot possibly speak for him. He had compassion in his voice.
Hi I agree with you he was sincere being homeless had nothing to do with it he clearly is a very good person ❤@@christinewhitfeld7939
@@misst.e.a.187 What an extraordinary thing to say, that homeless people do not care about others.
@@ABC_DEF I think that misst.e.a.187 is saying that the fact that she was Queen was not his focus, but that she was a woman in mourning and he had empathy for her as a person, not particularly excitement that he was in the presence of the Queen. That is what I'm getting anyway.
Our late Queen Elizabeth, wasn’t she just the best?? We won’t see her like again. RIP your majesty and thank you for your service.❤
😢She looked close to tears in that first clip.
She had lost both her mother and her sister the same year or so. 😢 And the man expresses so much compassion and kindness towards her, it’s very moving.
@@carocatho within a couple of months
@@carocatho At that point, her mother had gone yet. Margaret went first
@@misst.e.a.187 yes, you are right; I saw the date of this footage later. 😉 But I’m guessing she knew her mum might not recover from this grief and would soon follow her sister to the grave. 🙁
She did I dont imagine too many people asked if she was okay they just assumed she was.
Well done that man for asking how she was doing and HM the Queen really looked into his eyes, that showed how much she really appreciated him asking. A truly remarkable Lady, who always put duty above everything else.
Yes i love your comment and agree. Her Majesty was real I mean as real as you can get. Her passion to serve and show compassion when needed and really go out there and get a sense of what it's like to live In the British public. Seeing things at the salvation army made her see and understand that a community doesnt give up it gets thru the struggle together. She was one of a kind but a true gem for the monarchy when it comes to standards and respect.
@@thegreengrimoiretarot4104 Compassion, you forget Diana.
She found it quite touching when the man asked if she was ok ...her eyes watered...
Wasn’t that just so lovely of the gentleman to enquire on how the Queen was. What a beautiful man he is. So thoughtful and daresay she thought so too. ❤❤😢
The lady was class and not because she was Queen .She had integrity and empathy .Power is not a coat many people can wear .
I think you may mean ‘can wear?!’
The Queen RIP
had no power at all politically or nationally.
I guess you may be confusing power with influence.
Rather poignant what you just said...
Give Meghan a chance. She has poise and she has grace.
@@BillBiggs1😂😂😂😂😂 Right you are, then....
She had such a warm and totally genuine smile. There never was at anytime a hint of being bored, tired and uninterested. A truly lovely, remarkable lady, always gracious and always sincere.
Amen to that ❤
I always feel a pang of sadness now she's gone...somehow the world felt like a better place knowing she was here....
Yes, I do too... I know how you feel.
It felt like all was right in the world. She was sanity and a point of reference. It all does not feel right in the world after her passing. The two rainbows. Balmoral and Buckingham Palace. Rain stopped clouds parted and those two rainbows. A bow to her Royal Highness Our Majesty the Queen. She was such a blessing. She can rest and she did reign til her last dying breath. As she said. She is watching. I can't wait to go home too. ❤
Get a tear in my eyes . Can’t help it .
My feelings too 😢
I STILL FEEL AN EMPTY PLACE IN MY HEART KNOWING QUEEN ELIZABETH II HAS PASSED ON TO HEAVEN! SHE WASN'T FEELING WELL AND I WOULD NOT WANT HER TO STAY HERE ON EARTH IN PAIN! I AM A CITIZEN OF THE USA BUT I'VE KNOWN THE QUEEN ALL MY LIFE AND SHE WAS ALWAYS FULL OF GRACE AND HONOR! IN MY MIND SHE WOULD NEVER LEAVE US. BUT. IN HER LAST YEARS SHE WAS HARASSED AND TRICKED BY PRINCE HARRY AND MEGHAN! TO THINK HER VERY OWN GRANDSON WOULD STOOP SO LOW TO HARASSING HIS BELOVED GRANDMOTHER AND GRANDFATHER! HARRY MUST BE SICK LIKE MEGHAN!
Our wonderful, unique, timeless and gracious Queen!
She was such a strong woman I miss her dearly 😢😢😢 I hope she’s with her sister
Her sister Margaret was a reckless, self-centred hedonist. I liked HM Queen Elizabeth ll and sincerely hope for her sake she has been reunited in death with those who treated her rather better than her wayward sister did!
...and her: husband, father, mother, grandmother, pets...💐
@@mchow2984 ... yes, everyone.
I miss The Queen.
God rest her soul!
I just loved her. She was a class act. I’m not British but American but have much respect for her Majesty! 💗
Me also
Me too. ❤
I still miss her terribly.
What a woman 🌹
She was beautiful
Me too. Always will. God rest her soul.
The Queen had an inexhaustible capacity to never look bored. I admired her for that.
It's fascinating to see the Queen at work, even while still in mourning for her sister. She has certainly mastered the art of "small talk" and saying just the right thing to make a stranger feel at ease. I am sure every person that met her never forgot the experience. I''m afraid we will never see her like again.
I miss our beloved Queen.
May she rest in peace 🙏
She was simply elegant.
She was a wonderful woman, a great Queen and Commonwealth leader, and a dignified, gracious example of an exemplary life of service. Beautiful to see this, thanks.
Not only a Queen - a great and gracious lady.
I really miss her 😢
The most remarkable head of state ever! Isn’t the late Queen gorgeous ❤ these are all her people and she cares deeply.
Yes, I agree 100%, but let's not forget Olof Palme, Nelson Mandela, Francois Mitterrand and Fidel Castro.
Such a strong and stalwart person. Her sense of duty is an inspiration. I miss her 💔
Imagine the pressure of following her reign and trying to keep the British Monarchy and royal family popular and relevant in the 21st century.
The British Queen beloved by many of her people, respected by most of the people across the globe 🌍🌎🌏 Much respect ma’am
THE QUEEN
Her majesty QUEEN 👑 ELIZABETH II never looked more beautiful 🌹 forever in our hearts ❤️ Cheers Stephen
Bless her, she is close to tears here.
The Queen is lovely in this
Even though I'm an American, I miss her so much. She was there before I was born and she has always been an example of grace and duty to me. I wish more people were like her, God bless her soul.
There it was again, the unforgetable sparkle in her eyes.
Seems the world is not the same without Queen Elizabeth ll🕊
I found this so revealing of her innate charm. Such an example to us all. We miss her so much 🇿🇦❤️💐
'And you're from Jamacia? ...Oh your parents were from there' . At least the guy didn't get offended and try to have the Queen cancelled.
Nobody cancels the Queen.
This was a 'normal' time when people didn't get offended about anything and everything as opposed to todays cheap attention seeking brainwashed morons.
I’d have loved to see someone try, they wouldn’t have got far and hopefully nobody would’ve tried to sack her as they did Lady Susan Hussey.
Lol
I appreciate what you’re saying but, since Her Majesty was the Sovereign and Head of State of Jamaica, she was his Queen as much as anyone else’s. He would have been aware of that and was probably chuffed that she stopped to speak to him and was interested in his response. As Head of the Commonwealth, H.M. visited Jamaica frequently and, no doubt, had fond memories of her visits and the people she met.
I get a lot of comfort knowing she is with God in heaven resting in perfect peace and in such beautiful heaven. Bless you ma’am thank you ❤️❤️🌹
She will be busy there as a retired Queen , it's fortunate to know that she is with her daughters and the Queen Mother and staff of Royal Lodge .
The Queen is still well loved❤ miss you alot dear Queen💖
Una bella reina y dama
Sensational woman.
I loved her smile…so real and genuine.
I remember during covid19 crises I was so worried all the time about what will happen to my young family then she spoke to us through tv it really came me down I automatically relaxed here in Canada we miss her so much
She seemed to be very down to earth & approachable here!
Queen Elizabeth was & is an absolute remarkable lady.
I miss you so much, & can’t get enough of watching anything about her.❤
‘is?!’
Her warmth was overwhelming! She was the best of Britain. Rest in peace, Ma'am. 🙏❤️🌹
She was a gracious lovely and beautiful Queen.
I miss her.
Everry time I see the Queen these days the emotion rises.
The Queen is deceased, we have a Queen Consort and no amount of people calling her The Queen makes a jot of difference imo
I shall always miss her. A most wonderful and genuine human being. 😢
Lovely.❤️. Equally kind and attentive, regardless of skin color.❤️
Those people from the Salutation Army are very kind
i stayed 1 year in on of ther center inside Paris in 1985
Respect deserving to everyone Humility and so many others skills qualifies of services no prosélytism never force to pray realy pragmatic communauty
I think you’ve been ‘autocorrected’ it’s The Salvation Army! 😜
Loved that wee woman so sad she’s gone the Scottish people loved her 😢
The Rhodesian people too
THE most gracious, loving, caring, and giving lady. Her Majesty took her station in life from the very start. She did not want to be queen but the choice was not hers (as she saw it) because this is the position that she was raised to fulfill. It just came much sooner in life than she wanted. I have always loved my Queen and was and still proud to be a part of the Commonwealth. You did your job so very well so now you can rest easy your Highness .👼👼👼👼
I am American but I loved and respected QE.
I'm an American and i miss her very much! 😢❤ Thank god we had the TV and you tube to watch this amazing woman rule with love and dignity!
What an amazing interaction between this kind man and our late much loved Queen.
18:31 Thank you Queen Elizabeth and your Husband Prince Philip for your visit to R O Irl .. You were a bridge builder . May u rest in peace 🙏
You reached out and was a great leader .
Such an amazing woman. ❤❤❤
I love how protocol dictates that we should never ask The Queen questions, she does the talking, never ask personal questions etc but the moment a member of the public engages with her sincerely and kindly on any level, as this gentleman did, and she responds easily and gratefully for his concern. What a lady she was.
If you strip all the pomp and circumstance away, it was simply a human moment between two people where one showed kindness to another who was going through a difficult time. It showed the monarch (and Royal Family in general) are people too.
She was such an inspiration ! She lived across the pond, yet she was my queen in spirit! She was loved all across the world !
I love how the Queen very gently shows those guiding her that she wants to talk to people and ask about their lives and experiences when she visits, in addition to learning about the organizations. And I also love the stylized bit she wore on the front of her hat….sartorial genius!
How sweet of that man, to ask her how she was. She probably, remember him ,for the rest of her life.❤
We will never see the like ever again, you are truly missed ma'am x
Oh, I really do miss our late Queen, looking at this old footage of her going about her Royal Duties is just priceless. She certainly has a Twinkle in her eye! Charismatic & level headed. Everyone who has ever been fortunate to have met her all having the same opinion, Queen Elizabeth II was a very well educated lady & could talk to Anyone. That twinkle in her eye & dazzling smile, right up to the end, beautiful inside and out. Truly wonderful & dedicated her life to the Monarchy, The Crown came first. She knew it wasn't going to be an easy life, fulfilling? certainly. I'm 63 yrs old, and I've only ever known our Monarch to be our Gracious, late Queen Elizabeth. It's been a strange time for me because I see this wonderful lady, never destined to be Queen until Uncle abdicated. Our late Queen's Father, the King, had not prepared for this sudden change in family dynamics, he Never thought he would be King & his speech impediment didn't help, that wspistas hard for him to make a speech, he had a good speech therapist but together with the wonderful support of his wife, our late Queen Mother, his life was helped so much from his wife. I bet she was fiery when she was young!!!
“Are you okay ma’am?” What a lovely heart that man has! And the sincere tears in Her Majesty’s eyes shows a beautiful soul. ❤
Love for her people, soft power and respect even from most of her critics. I feel it is no coincidence that the world is a more dangerous and intolerant place now that she has gone. Thank you Your Majesty for being Queen for my entire lifetime.
I miss her so much. God rest her lovely soul 😢
Queen Elizabeth II will continue to be mourned by millions of people across the world - she was loved and respected by so many. 🙏🏻👑😢
So lovely to see these clips from the past she is sadly missed 😢
She was a very likable woman. RIP ❤❤❤❤
Royalty and Grace personified! Love from the USA 🇺🇸. Thank you for sharing Her Majesty the Queen with us our UK 🇬🇧 cousins!!❤
I still cant believe the late Queen as passed away!!!she worked so hard even in her later years, her duty to this country came first.
❤( Rest In Peace )❤
Her eyes glistened with tears. I'll never forget the Double rainbow at her funeral. I'd never seen one before or since.
Beautiful to see her smile and hear her laugh. She was a lind soul
Anyone more amazing than her to be born into this world. !
Losing a sibling and a parent in the space of seven weeks must have been heart-breaking.
I love how the crowd outside aren't screaming and thrashing about. It's just respect and admiration for her. Not fanatical carrying on.
Forever in our hearts, love from a loyal subject who would lay down my life for my family, Queen/King and Countries
(🇬🇧🇦🇺)
She looked so young and radiant in 2002 so full of smiles, she was so interested in what the chap was saying at 10.20 , its hard to comprehend how she could decline so much in the next ten years, so sad with what she had to deal with , especially the loss of Philip and Andrews and Harrys rubbish.. the country and commonwealth is a poorer place without her majesty, god bless you mam RIP you so deserve it
Amazing that the only one to courtesy was the young girl!
Always amazes me to see number of young people who turned out to see the Queen. A very special person who lived a life dedicated to the service of others. Yes, a privileged life, but never an extravagant life.
Elizabeth R always displayed what is good in humanity...seemingly genuine and always made an effort....she is greatly missed.
Britain is so very lucky to have had her steadfast dedication for decades, inspiring the world.
You save my life, you give hope. You was the only person in this planet that gave me the benefits of the doubt. Forever in my heart, you ma'am, you will be forever in my heart. Benedicta tu in mulieribus.
I’ve never been a Royalist but had so much respect for our Queen. I still feel sad when I think about her not being here. A true legend. Rest in peace Ma’am. ❤
What a kind woman. You can see her eyes filled with tears. She was very touched by that man asking her whether she was okay.
Queen Elizabeth was a great lady.🎉❤❤
I miss Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth!!! She had grace snd dignity!
Elizabeth 11 was an excellent monarch and did her duty well❤
Our Queen was a beautiful Lady with a ❤..
3 months later I visited the UK for the first time, I enjoyed the Queen's Golden Jubilee celebrations. 22 years ago now, so many things have changed.
feel it so comfortable whenever i saw queen's footage
That man from Iraq the queen was speaking to has such gloriously rich eye lashes. They're incredible.
Such a difficult job indeed , I'd hate to be amongst all these strangers and engage in a conversation with them, but queen Elizabeth did her job effortlessly, one in a million.
Can you imagine how it would feel when Queen Elizabeth actually took time to speak to you because she wanted to! Priceless!
So lovely to see the Queen of our times. She looks lovely; she has kind eyes.💗💗
She is gracious. God knew her before she existed. She is Queen Elizabeth 2nd, different and unique from the first, but she is not second to anyone. She is a representative of God who sees us being unique and different. She is a history maker's marker.
I don’t care what anyone says, but this lady was tremendous. As promised she worked for the crown and the commonwealth literally until the day she died. Rest peacefully ma’am, you’ve earned it
