Sally is so excellent in this show. In the beginning, I didn't think her character would be as important as it became. I think Don idolizes women and wants them to fall in love with him, but he doesn't want anyone to really "know" him because the real him isn't worthy of love. I can see Sally almost becoming an Anna Draper place holder. Anna knew Don, but loved him anyway. Now Sally is getting to know him and still loves him anyway. I imagine that would be very healing for Don. Also, growing up in a house of ill repute, no wonder he has a messed up idea of sex. It was the only time he was cared for and nurtured. Poor guy.
I agree. The confession to the Nestle people that his understanding of love came from getting a candy bar for stealing from customers was so wonderfully revelatory.
Don's love language is doing things for the people he loves. He doesn't say it all the time because he'd rather show it. Which I can appreciate because I'd rather see actions than hear words
The ending of this episode is goddamn beautiful. Maybe the most purely hopeful moment in the show? Shout out to The Zombies and to Jon Hamm.

That's completely true. Sometimes, especially with his children and Megan, it is sometimes hard to see it in his actions though, too.
I hated Peggy in this ep so much, what a baby. I also wanted a spinoff show with the secretaries.
They could call it "Happy Girls". As long as Meredith was there I'd watch.
Joan also kinda dresses like she did in early seasons. But I don't think her body type is suited for 60s fashion
That's a good point. I guess she doesn't have to change too much when she looks that fantastic. Unlike Don, she does at least change her hairstyle.
