It's awesome to hear your thoughts Ruben ! I also got mine last year and had to wait until tilta released it's cage for me to properly use this camera (which arrived last week). My use with this camera is purely professional, I shoot commercials most of my time and also music videos. I just did my first work with this camera properly rigged and i can say that this sensor is simply AMAZING. Being able to shoot Open Gate on a full frame camera is simply mind blowing, especially at this price point. I agree on you, colors do look better on this camera and i think part of it, it's due to the OLPF for sure. As far as noise, i found it to be on par with the 6k pro which for me it's fine. I saw a huge difference from the p4k to the 6k pro, but from the 6k pro to the FF, it's pretty much the same, but i found the noise to be smaller than on the 6k pro. But for the type of work that i do, I think it's pretty good, and much better than the red komodo for example, which would also be a cinema camera. Also, at night time, 1250 will perform a lot better than 400. It's better to close down the aperture to expose nicely at 1250 for cleaner shadows. As far as the problem you had with banding, I did find in a couple of shots when shooting at Q5. Even on 12:1, i didn't have any problems, but on q5 i had some (on the 6k pro I always shoot Q5 or Q3). For the type of work that i do (I'm a DoP ,owner/OP) this camera is such a nice tool to use, even though it does have a weird shape, I've grown to understand , as well as constantly evolving my rig, to make it usable on sets. The main problem for me, on this camera (as well as other pocket from bmd) is the 12v power conector. It's in such a weird place that i'm always concerned about it's place when im operating the camera handheld as well as transporting it. But other than that, this is a great camera for sure, the same way tha the 6k pro was, when it was released (which i also bought when it came out)
Good review! For me, coming from ten years with the BMPCC OG, the battery life on the 6K is amazing. I get about 12-15 minutes on the old camera. Now I'm getting about 50-55 minutes per battery. I also use Angelbird, switch a long time ago and no issues. Love their stuff. Started when they supported cards for the BMPCC. Luckily, I don't use lenses with contacts. I use an Urth EF-L adapter and it's rock solid. I too, got stung by the default proxy issue. I like the form factor, I didn't when they introduced it with the 4k, but now, I think that it allows me to walk about more unobtrusively since it looks like a dslr. I've been waiting years for the Pyxis and then this spring handled the BMCC6k in the store and realized that I could walk around with this more easily. Glad they dumped the pocket designation though.

my friend our stars are aligned. i just started using my bmcc6k since yesterday. i got the camera since xmas but stil had to get the converter for my EF lenses. i wanted to get the viltrox im so happy i got the sigma mc21 because i got greedy and didnt waint to wait for the viltrox delivery time . since i see the viltrox has some problems im happy i dodged that bullet. now i got realy frustrated because of banding . i thought only me had this problem i started panicking but luckily your Video saved my life! bless you
I agree with you, for the price is fantastic! I have it rig it up, so keep into account those expenses and a great cinema lens would be ideal. For storage, beside the cf express card I got 3 2Tb NVMe drives with different case size and they work great. Last, battery sucks, so get some battery solution.
Yes, I tried that as well, thanks 🙏. I think I’m gonna be using more s35 in the future because I have the 6k pro, so it’ll be easier to match both like that without having to crop the 6k

Great camera indeed, from a happy owner. As always, very helpful review, made me even happier for owning such a camera. Regarding ISO, I agree that 1250 is better than 3200 native ISO.
1250 gives most dynamic range in the shadows so it's best for lowlights but the 3200 iso is the second base iso that gives more overall dynamic range but I rarely use it
A base iso is the iso that gives you maximum dynamic range. This camera has 2 base ISOsbecause it has a dual gain output, dgo, sensor. Dual gain output means you have 2 separate iso ranges. Base ISOs are 400 and 1250 while the stages range from iso 100-1000 and 1250+
6k is good but too many mega pixels which create cropping in on sensor at high qualities and framerates.. seems to be sacrificing one feature for the next instead of adding more physical buttons that cinematographers are use to

So you blame the camera for not having an adapter or your lack of research for a suitable adapter or that you do not use cine lenses (as you should for a cinema camera) it seems to me that you just want to find something to complaint about.

Great to see you back, my issue with L mount adapter is that no all my PL lenses fit perfectly, I’ve tried 3 brands and now I’ve given up.
