When I write in English, I *'look up'* every word and it feels like my brain might *'break down.'* But I won't *'get off'* this language learning journey; I stay on board.
A friend suggested this RUclips channel for learning English, so I quickly *'shot off'* to check it out. I was overwhelmed at first, but I soon *'calmed down'* and enjoyed it.
I decided to *'get on'* the internet and joined language forums online where I *'came across'* great language exchange partners, and we *'look after'* each other's skills. When I use English, I like to *'turn on'* some music to relax, like now. That didn't stop me from accidentally *'knocking over'* my coffee cup! ¡Gracias for the video!

I'm thrilled my comment *worked up* some good laughs! I won't *give up* on adding humor into this journey, even if it means *dusting off* my notes on 'how to *figure out* not to lose patience when learning English.' I'm *taking on* this challenge with gusto. Laughter is the ultimate reward. Thanks for the good times! 😂🙌@@Riley-gv5rs

I hate phrasal verbs my lovely. Here is what I would probably have said instead :
She decided to -look up- check/consult/search some tips...
The bus suddenly -broke down- failed/crashed/malfunctionned
She quickly -got off- descended/exited from the bus and -shot off- rushed/leapt/darted on foot
Her new colleague, Sarah, helped her -calm down- subside/relax/cool it/quieten
and -get on- proceed/continue/pursue with her duties.
Emily -came across- met/encountered/crossed challenging customer
Sarah's guidance was invaluable as she continued to -look after- mind/tend/attend/support/assist Emily throughout
Emily -knocked over- overturned/toppled/overthrew a tray of glasses onto her phone.
Her phone went black and wouldn't -turn on- activate/light/power/work again
I won't do the same for all stories but I would probably have used a more formal alternative for almost all of them ;-)
Great and useful lesson, thank you Lucy ❤ 😘

I have recently set up a new frienship with a guy in my town. I came across him on facebook and that's when we started to chat. It went very well at the begining but now I am trying to cut back the time we spend together because he turned out to be a bad penny. He wouldn't litterally do anything without me. He is a very nice guy but honestly, I think he doesn't rubb off on me. Thus, I am figuring out a way to brush him off now. I thought that tagging along with him would make me grow on him but it didn't work like that. Just yesterday, we went out riding bicycles together. He suddenly got excited, shot off and cut my way off. As a result, I needed to brake and my hips had violently hurt the bike. I tried not to tell him off but I was so much hurt and I couldn't help myself.
