Neither of you has seen the movie it seems. If you have questions, consult a website with the entire plot of the movie in detail. The Joker tricks Batman into saving Harvey Dent. Batman chose to save Rachel but the Joker switched the addresses they were being kept at. Rachel dies, Joker hits 2 birds with 1 stone because both Batman and Harvey Dent were in love with Rachel. And just like that he destroys the two most powerful protectors of Gotham.

Just a piece of trivia:
Heath Ledger (RIP) for that scene actually was being really beaten up by Christopher Bale in that scene. Every hit, every slam was 100% REAL. The reasoning was to make it seem as real and intense as possible. Bale had reservations at first but Ledger convinced him. What followed was one of the best movie scenes between Batman and Joker to ever be shot in all of Batman's cinematic history.
Greatness. This scene is simply an actor being timelessly great.
When I saw this in the theater everyone was all serious when watching this scene but I ain’t gonna lie when Bruce punches Joker and he laughs I honestly started to laugh with him in the theater. It’s awkward being the only one legit laughing in a room with 100 other people 😂

The Dark Knight trilogy is worth a shot. Rises has Catwoman in it but she's more of an antihero. But the interrogation scene is one of the greatest scenes ever. And it's okay, Ashtyn, to ask questions so no harm no foul. Nice reaction Jon and Ashtyn.

The Joker switched the locations of where Dent and Rachel were. Batman was going after Rachel but ended up locating Dent instead so he had no other choice but to save him while painfully realizing that Rachel was gonna die no matter what they tried
