I definitely enjoyed this video Ashlyn! You must have “ties” all over the place😁. Enjoyed seeing how another farm does their harvest. Keep up the great work!! Hopefully the next video will be at R.D. Take care. Stay safe. God Bless. I think Tony is due for another lengthy repair video 🤣 (Sorry Tony, hope I don’t jinx you.)

One thing about cutting the barley green like that. It probably eliminates the itch factor. Those guys appeared to be very good at what they were doing and it was a pleasure to watch them. Thanks for the great video. Here is to 10K ! Totally doable.

SmartASH! I'm late to the party again! Great video brother. Your more relaxed when your filming and not working. Cracks me up, you always seem to find that balance of randomness and organization. Thanks for making the trip and bringing us along. Take care my Friend.

Ashlyn, do the steers have different nutritional requirements to make weight vs dairy cows for making milk? Blessings!

Yes, and no. Both need high energy in diets, but fattening cattle don't require as much protein. Both do require roughage/fiber to maintain rumen function. You don't feed the cow, you feed the "bugs" in the rumen.

What stage were the kernels of the barley in? Milk, soft dough, etc. Are they going to plant corn in these fields?

You really are not until the choppers potential when straight cutting barely. Like there’s no need for a 1000 JP chopper doing that kind of crop. Acres per hour and tonnes per hour would be greatly less then picking up a 60 -80 foot swath or corn
