Thank you for providing some great videos for x-ray, I wished I found them beforehand. I am a current Rad Tech student, usually for long bones, the standard is two views. For joints, like the elbow, they would be 3 or more. Would love it if you can do your take on the medial/lateral obliques on elbow!

Hello Dr.Morton, I am a freshman in BS of Physical therapy, i would like to ask how I could differentiate the left elbow from the right elbow in the lateral view. I have a reporting with my team in a few weeks, and my upperclassmen have told us that we shouldn't base on what is written on the xray image but rather base on the bone structures to identify the left from the right elbow, however as we were doing our research we have not found any sites that discusses about the difference between the right and left lateral view of the elbows, your response is highly appreciated Dr.Morton

So, the positions demonstrated on the IR are the ap and lateral forearm... but nonetheless this helped with anatomy.

Ugh…that’s an AP view of a FOREARM and not an AP elbow guy……also that Lateral view is also of a forearm.
For both X-rays, soft tissue most be shown and the distal humerus is cut off…AWEFUL X-rays
