    I have 49 DT-3T, pretty wore out old Machine i still use today. I've gleamed some useful information from the work your doing on the old Cats, I really appreciate you sharing.

    I love people who try to save these old equipment. I'm not able to work on them like I use to. Your GearAMatic winch was used on skidders, they were a pain in the ass.

      For sure. I’m thinking they not the best for more powerful machines. Probably a good fit on D2. Do you know what kind of master cylinder they had to operate ?

    Don’t know how you would manage without the Clarke marvellous piece of equipment 🇬🇧🇮🇪.

    Thanks for taking the time to work on these old crawlers. Sad to see them just go to waste. Appreciate your videos and the work you do. Keep up the good work and we’ll keep watching the progress. Hopefully you can get it running and operating again.

    Nice pony adapter 🤔.
    Looks like it’s still a challenge to spin the pony. Great video. Track on backwards 😖 DOH 😣 I’ve done that before. How embarrassing 😳 that I never seen it either until it was pointed out. 😊.
    Still in a state of flux after the holidays 🎉

      My portable starter was made to work on D4’s. works well. This D2 has midified fenders so won’t clamp down proper. It’s amazing the drag the mag had. Once removed pony turned freely. As far as tracks, it’s been backward for at least 30 years. Just never noticed when I received it. Way too much junk bolted or welded on to catch it. It’ll make a nice Sunday driver eventually tho

    We always called those pony engines whizzers for the way it sounded like it was whizzing when the electric starter was turning them over.

      They have a few names from different areas. Caterpillar just call them starting engines

    We had a gearmatic on our early 50 treefarmer it uses a two way master cylinder one way releases the brake and the other way engages the clutch I will check out if I have it and send a picture to you and more details we up graded to a newer style

    You make the best videos on utube. how many pounds of welding rod do you reckon were used repairing that D2?

    • @beginlivinglikeaboss
      @beginlivinglikeaboss  11 дней назад +1

      I’m glad you like my efforts. A couple hundred pounds of rod likely! Lol

    Definitely a little rusty in the cyl bores for the age of sitting but could be a lot worse

      I believe the pony was just rebuilt prior to retirement. Bores wiped out nicely. The work begins.

    Not enough tension on the belt it’s. just spinning on the pulley

    • @beginlivinglikeaboss
      @beginlivinglikeaboss  11 дней назад

      There was too much drag created by a stiff mag. Once mag was removed the pony spins freely. Belt tension not the problem.
