Our first Overlanding Adventure trip around Italy
It was very hard to find wild camping locations, in most of the regions we visited camping outside official campsites was prohibited.
There where even signs on the roads that camping was not allowed.
We visited:
Viterbo, Sala gualterio, Monastero di Santa Rosa;
Tarquinia, at Tyrrhenian Sea, where the sand was not quite black but pretty dark;
Vitorchiano, the old town, with narrow streets, very specific to Italy;
Sorgente termale delle Piscine Carletti, free hot springs, some accessible even during the night;
Lake Vico, is a caldera lake in northern Lazio, central Italy. It is one of the highest major Italian lakes, with an altitude of 510 m;
The Catacombs of Saint Christine, the cemetery of the early Christian Community of Bolsena used from the end of the 3rd century until the first 20 years of the 5th century.
Relatively small (around 1600 tombs), but well preserved, catacombs of Saint Cristina are surely worth of visit;
Villa Lante, with it's beautiful garden;
Ravenna, at the Adriatic Sea
