It is a modular rack system so yes a full roof rack. Boards have there own brackets that attach to the rack chanels. Everything is available at direct4x4.co.uk and 10% off Everything if you use code JKOVERLAND 🤟
@@JKoverland I'm on leave till the end of September then away again for 4 more months. I meant to say if you get to Croatia I can recommend Split for a day out, amazing history there.
Was there last week but just passing by with my overland Patrol Y61. Dolomites are simply breathtaking, heaven on Earth. I have a rooftop tent (sadly it was not on the car this time) and next year I will definitely camp somewhere in the mountains. Enjoy your stay!
Awesome video again you two . What a beautiful area ,the views are spectacular . Glad mollys doing well , she’s looking well set up now . Thanks again for sharing your wonderful travel memories with us your over landing friends . Cheers from Steve Stott in Sutherlin Oregon U.S.A. :) :) 🍻👍🏼
Hey Steve 👋 we are so pleased we did go to the Dolomites. Wonderful and ended up staying longer than planned 😁 hope you are keeping well my friend! J&K
Altitude has a massive affect on vehicle performance, as the air thins the horsepower you make drops, I was in Peru a few years ago at 5000 metres and the vehicle was really struggling, just getting slower and slower. Then you get out to admire the view and the lack of oxygen hits you like a brick wall.
Good to know, my Hyunday Galloper does the same millage at the same speed, 24 MPG at 50 MPH, my engine is similar to the 4d56 tdi, but made in korea so is the D4bh turbo intercooler
It's a treat to follow your trip, the mountains are spectacular...and the steep roads remind me of the trip we did in june to Tuscany. We drove a 1995 defender 110 with camping trailer up the mountains so I know the feeling of keeping it cool and dealing with the queue behind you ;) As you travel south I would like to recommend the plitvice lakes Croatia, dubrovnik Croatia, and Lake Shkodra Resort in Albania. Really nice campsite... you guys have fun and live the dream!
It's a fantastic place to explore and take the road less traveled! 😁 we are now the other side of the Dolomites looking back up and sort of missing the cooler climate. At least can't be named the que master here on the flat roads.
I tend to do around 55-57mph on motorways, nice steady economical speed but you aren’t getting in the way of trucks and causing a rolling roadblock as they overtake. Truck speed is a relaxing speed to drive at, you can do it all day long and be chilled at your destination, do the same journey at 70 and your concentration levels have to go up as you are constantly overtaking stuff, looking for gaps to pull into, plus you use more fuel and potentially run at a higher temp.
Sounds similar as we don't hold up the trucks. I find they tend to be a bit slower out here on the b roads that we take and not on the tolls so it works really well :) she likes cruising around 50-55
You guys look like you are having a great time. Beautiful country to be in. So excited for you both. If you need an option for camping or a hot shower if/when you get to Mostar, Bosnia or Bracc, Croatia let me know. I told my Dad about you guys. He’d be happy to welcome you in. Plenty of space at both options for camping or brick and mortar accommodations.
I have a Gen 2 Pajero, which is in great condition thankfully. Was thinking of a road trip from UK to Italy, how have fuel costs been for you? I took mine from Leeds to Scotland recently on a camping trip, the diesel prices are painful atm :-(
Are you using roofs bars instead of a rack? how have you mounted your traction boards?

Looks amazing. Great views and roads too, Molly seems to taking in her stride.
All the best.
Thanks mate :) it's pretty special around these parts. How is the work season going?

I've noticed a little harder to start at above 2000m didn't think that height would make a lot of difference but I can tell. Can understand 5000m 😄
That was some climb, unreal scenery 😃
Has been a few climbs like it here 🙈 worth the reward! 😍

Hi guys, great video, I’m planning a trip to the Dolomites this summer. Any chance you could let me know where you stayed in this video please.
Beautiful trip, like it very much!
Btw. what kind of CB-radio do you use?
Thanks! It's a Midland CB handheld unit:)
My mother always told me “50 is thrifty” when I started driving many years ago 😊
I love that! I'm going to have to use it now hope that's ok! 😂👍
