    Great in depth review Paul. Appreciate you breaking it down like this. Side question, what are the lights you are using in the background of your video??

      Thanks Daniel! Appreciate the kind words.
      Great question. Here my Amazon affiliate/paid links to the background lights:
      Govee Floor Lamp (I have v1, but looks like they just created a v2)
      V1: amzn.to/3WU7Nn2
      V2: amzn.to/4aEQ9a6
      LED Flood Lights: amzn.to/3KhRitA (love how affordable these lights are for their effect)
      Hope this helps! Let me know if you have any other questions 👍 happy to help!

    Firstly thank you for this video really great insight!! I wanted to ask does Skool host videos or would I need the videos to be hosted somewhere else?

    • @pauldittus
      @pauldittus  7 месяцев назад +2

      Thanks so much for the kind words. Great question. Right now you do have to host the videos on another platform like Vimeo, Loom, and RUclips. It would be nice if down the road they offered video hosting.

    Currently in Mighty networks as a member - 2nd community I’ve been involved in- have another friend who used Circle - know another who uses heartbeat - there are so many questions - so for starters, at quest point do you have enough people to ‘morph’ over to a community - I am considering an online community - thanks for the 14 day free trial option- I have another set of friends who have made the decision today to move forward with SKOOL - enjoyed your video

      Thanks for the kind words Vicki!
      I am familiar with Mighty Networks, but have never used it personally. How do you like it?
      I have helped build communities on Circle. It's a decent option with a lot of extra features. Personally I find Skool a lot easier to navigate and setup for beginners and offers a simpler and more streamlined user experience. That said, Circle does offer a unique set of features for those that need them.
      I love that you're looking at building a community. If you want to send me a DM on a social platform I would be happy to chat more about your unique situation. You can find me on most platforms @pauldittus
      I would definitely recommend having a monetization strategy in place. The number of people I believe depends on this. For example, if you have a high ticket coaching program at $2k/month, the number will be significantly lower than if you have a free or low cost ($20 or less/month) community.
      You can also test the waters by asking your current or potential members if this is something they would be interested in and at what price point they see it as being valuable. You don't have to necessarily go with what they say, but it could be valuable information for you to make decisions on.
      Hope this helps! Let me know if you have any other questions. Happy to help!

    Appreciate the review very helpful as I'm looking into different community platforms. Let's say I sell a course on Skool and I have a paid membership to be in my group, can only people that are members of my group buy my course?

    • @pauldittus
      @pauldittus  7 месяцев назад

      Thanks so much for the kind words.
      This is where the simplicity of Skool could make it challenging. I don't believe there is a simple way to sell a course within a community yet. I do believe you can lock content and have it unlocked when someone makes a purchase on another platform, but this would either have to be automated through webhooks or Zapier.
      Someone recently asked a similar question here: www.skool.com/community/paid-course?p=7d7e69f6
      What other platforms are you considering? Happy to answer any questions or suggest something based on your particular needs.
      Cheers!

    Great stuff Paul!! Can you have a group within a group/community? Like if I want firewalls or subgroups?

    • @pauldittus
      @pauldittus  6 месяцев назад +1

      Thanks my friend! Unfortunately, right now there’s not really a way to have a subgroup with a paywall on Skool. What I’ve seen in other communities do is have a free and paid community. One funnels into the other. I would imagine as they keep building the platform they’ll provide better permissions. As of right now, it is somewhat limited.
      Let me know if you have any other questions.

      @@TheModernLeader you bet! Happy to help 👍
      There are other community platforms that do have the feature that you’re talking about, but honestly I feel like Skool has a very unique following and offering. I’m guessing you’ve explored the alternatives a little already.
      I believe one of the biggest differences I’ve personally noticed is that I will more regularly go back to a Skool community vs the other platform.

    Thanks for the review…prices seem on par with Kajabi.

    • @pauldittus
      @pauldittus  5 месяцев назад

      Absolutely! Happy to help. Kajabi is another solid option. Which platform do you like better?
      So far, I personally like how well integrated Skool has the community, classroom, gamification, and calendar together. I'm not as familiar with Kajabi from the admin side, but have used it as a user.
