Any else find it funny that out of all GM development history videos he done, he still hasn't done one on the standard GM yet? One day it will happen, hopefully.🤞
You know, I'm honestly surprised about the fact Bernard Monsha sticking with the Titans and ending up a half-blind cripple under a fake name on Mars hiding with Zeon remnants is something barely anybody talks about. I mean yeah nothing's really come out of it yet but given his memeworthy status and everything he pulled in 0083, you'd think it'd at least be a "point at him and laugh" moment.
Yeah you know you got the Law of the Land and that's the Constitution, then you got the Law of the Air and that's the Holy See of the Catholic Church, then you got the Law of the Water and that's the British Admiralty. And that's Land Air Water and that's where you get "law" from.
About the Long GM rifle, I've heard the GM sniper II was said to be equipped with one. Same with the hizack cannon, which in gbo2 was made a beam rifle instead of a physical round weapon
To think all this started with me posting a blurry screencap from 0083 to Kakarot's Facebook asking him what variant of GM this was as it didn't look like the Quel.😆
Honestly I love your development histories, and honesty I have to ask for a potential question of the week but first a bit of context, I am a big Zaku fan, like i know they are mooks but their designs have always made me smile and my favorite UC Gundam in Unicorn: So my question is, if I was a Zeon pilot who enlisted at the beginning of the one year war (likely initially in the Dozle faction) and then I made it all the way to the Laplace incident and fought on the side of Mineva Zabi (as my loyalty to Dozle would mean I am loyal to her) what would my various factions would I be joining be and what would my mobile suit lineup be throughout the years if I mostly stuck to Zakus as my preferred machine line and only strayed away when there wasn't a Zaku available during that time or the Zaku would put me on the opposite side of Mineva and her allies? TL;DR: what would a Dozle/Mineva loyalist's alliance trajectory and tech tree look like if they mostly stuck to Zaku based machines (when applicable to being in the same faction as Dozle/Mineva) from the beginning of the one year war to the end of the Laplace incident? (When they likely retire and become a civillian safe in the knowledge that Mineva has Banagher to protect her)
That GM long rifle looks cool as Hell and I actually am interested now in a Chobam assisted GM Custom. Why? Remember what that Tropen did to that Powered? So yeah, pass the Chobam and the Shiki special paint.
The hilarious thing? I was watching your GM Quel video on the difference between the 0083 version and current design. AOZ graces us yet with more things to oogle at. Edit: Y U No talk about the Feddie GM Quel
I love your channel. Not a whole lot of gundam related RUclipsrs out there and if there is, it’s usually just gunpla. And I’m not into gunpla even though I really want to. I just never get the time to get around to it. Love gundam, it’s my first introduction to anime. So it holds a special place in my heart ❤️
It's always weird to me when I read or hear about Titans remnants going to join various Zeon holdout groups. You'd think any Zeke who cared about Spacenoids would just shoot them, but I guess "Federation Bad" trumps any bad blood over gassing 30-bunch and being... you know... the Titans. Then again the Zekes started their war by gassing a colony and dropping it so...
they probably bond over those warcrimes, though its not like the titans are ever portrayed as people that genuinely cared about protecting the earth from zeon remnants in the first place, they were just using that as an excuse to rise in power.
In my school vr game the GM quel rezeon has a veriont called the GM quel neo zeon type which was upgraded with more powerful thrusters a beam saber and a railgun rifle and the quel shield it was a boss in the mission called a blind eye but it got literally walked on by a blinded rebake goalius
What blows my mind about the Gundam universe is how quickly both side of the conflict were able to develop, design, and deploy not just revisions of existing units, but entirely new MS at fleet level densities in such radically short periods of time. They had 3 different GM units in full deployment in under 15 years.
Thank you for this development video. I love learning about the lore. Out of all the MG GM's, Custom, Quel, and Sniper 2 are the ones I really want to get. I have the Sniper 2 in clear, but the Custom feels out dated, and the latest Quel is PBandai.
The Quel has always been one of my favorite GMs, glad it had more history than I thought it did and that I got watch it here. Also, a bit off topic, Kakarot... ever thought about doing Dev History for MSs from A.D.?
I never really understood the point of the GM Quel. We see like two seconds of it at the end of Stardust Memory with the implication that it was going to be the new Titans mobile suit, but Zeta had already fully aired years before and it was never seen there. I know they added it into the compilation movies but those weren't made until more than a decade later. Seems like it would've made a lot more sense to use the Hi-Zack in that shot. Even the "there to sell model kits" excuse can't be made, since the first GM Quel model kit didn't come out until 1999.
Personally my theory was that the early type GM Quel were actually rebuilt GM Kai. You'd have no problem making a GM Kai look like a GM Quel by just swapping the armor. The same could be said for the Hizack, as it could be re-armored to look like a Zaku. The GM Quel is actually descended from the GM Kai anyway. Even though some idiot changed the wiki to say the GM Command. The GM Kai was used as a design basis for the GM Custom after mixing the design data with the Gundam Alex. And in turn the GM Custom was used as the basis for the GM Quel. Making the GM Kai the GM Quel's granddaddy. This also explains why Titans were using GM Kai on Earth in UC 0084. That said, the GM Quel wasn't truly a superior unit to the GM Custom. It had weaker armor, a weaker frame, was slower despite being lighter, and didn't have the level of tuning it's predecessor had. While many of it's new designs were innovative, it's production costs when compared to the Hizack and GM II were likely deemed not worth it. Because the GM II had similar performance with a more conservative and cost effective design, along with slightly higher thrust. The GM Quel's arm frame was good. But that was the only special part of the MS. The GM Custom had no problem being modified for higher thrust with the full burnian units. But the GM Quel's frame warped and had to be reinforced when given similar modification. Even before the Titans were dissolved, the GM Quel was being retired early. If anything, the GM Quel's biggest redeeming quality was that it visually looks better than the GM II. That's about it.
Speaking of early types, is the javelin development history a thing? I can't find a lot of info on the early type (like if it saw combat in the Cosmo Babylonia war)
The long rifle has made a bit of a recent resurgence in Gundam Battle Operation 2 as the Hizack Cannon's main ranged weapon, although it's depicted as a beam rifle
It would be so nice for Bandai to release some standard release HGUC AOZ kits again. I doubt they would do the early type Quel since we already have a normal Quel kit, but maybe they could do the AOZ Hi-Zack design which would simultaneously give us a "revive" of the old Hi-Zack kit. AOZ has a ton of cool mods for the Hi-Zack I'd love to see
I can see why the GM Custom wasn't successful, it didn't have an identity. Sure, it might've been the "best" and "most customisable" GM of its time but, that is it. Just telling a pilot they can do whatever to it, doesn't make it successful. Hell, the design philosophy of this GM is so, open ended it makes it uncustomisable. Without any direction on how to use your creativity, you can't think on how to use it to its fullest potential or even use it at all.
If Sunrise wants to convince me that that all those GM Quel and Hazel variants are canon, they need to officially release Advance of Zeta in the west. Otherwise, what GM Quel Early Type?
I like having my headcanon validated
Feels good, doesn't it?😎👍🏾
I am so glad this one is canon as well. I am of the GM models introduced in 0083
Ain't jinxing or anything
But I sure hope that Bandai Retcon Team doesn't strikes back (again).
I think it funnier to still believe it was art error. Wether it is or not, I'll pick up the phone, because you CALLED IT!
Seems like the folks who make Gundam watch your videos man...
Any else find it funny that out of all GM development history videos he done, he still hasn't done one on the standard GM yet? One day it will happen, hopefully.🤞
GM Custom variants is what I'm waiting for.
Hopefully indeed
I love how since the GM Custom is already an "MP" Alex, the the GM Quel, which is the Custom's succesor, gets to have Chobam armor
The latest chapter in 0083 rebellions manga made him seem pitiable
It's karma and irony at their finest.
Fun fact: the Quel in the GM Quel stands for Qualified to Use Earthly Law
Wow!😲🤔
Seriously. I didn't know.
Now that's pretty specific.
Yeah you know you got the Law of the Land and that's the Constitution, then you got the Law of the Air and that's the Holy See of the Catholic Church, then you got the Law of the Water and that's the British Admiralty.
And that's Land Air Water and that's where you get "law" from.
I was having a bad day, but a development history video definitely makes things better. Thank you so much for what you do.
I second that
About the Long GM rifle, I've heard the GM sniper II was said to be equipped with one. Same with the hizack cannon, which in gbo2 was made a beam rifle instead of a physical round weapon
To think all this started with me posting a blurry screencap from 0083 to Kakarot's Facebook asking him what variant of GM this was as it didn't look like the Quel.😆
GM Custom was not given enough love, kewl to see it's getting more stuff for it, even if it's for a successor unit
It's my favorite GM.
I saw your tweet and it had me rolling. Glad it's official now, always liked GM Quels and more versions are welcome :P
I guess the ReZeon version should've been called the GM Rebel
Just when I had finished re-watching all the other development histories, I get a nice new one to look forward to.

Wake up babe new development history video
I think doing the gelgoog development history would cool
I hope we get this a model kit, I was so hyped seeing the GM Spartan as a HG 1/144.
I enjoyed that bit of irony you mentioned about the mobile suits final fate; I honestly didn't see that coming
The hilarious thing? I was watching your GM Quel video on the difference between the 0083 version and current design. AOZ graces us yet with more things to oogle at.

Say what you want about The Titans, but damn does the GM Quel and Hazel units get me acting up.
It's always weird to me when I read or hear about Titans remnants going to join various Zeon holdout groups. I really like these development history videos. It makes the world feel so much more alive.
That GM long rifle kinda reminds me of the L86 LSW.
I guess the same energy as Doan's badly animated Zaku II face becoming a canon variant, lol.
I need all the MG grunts. Still very patiently waiting for a quel, and gm custom mg reprint!
Right on
Yesss. This one is bad ass.
drinking game: take a drink everytime he says "GM quel"
You want a HG version of the long rifle? 3D printing might offer the answer to your question, Kakarot. Hell i could try designing one.
Nothing makes going to classes more bearable than seeing a new Development History video and then going on Gundam Wiki and researching further
That GM Long Rifle design is really damn cool.
The Quel has always been one of my favorite GMs, glad it had more history than I thought it did and that I got watch it here. Also, a bit off topic, Kakarot... ever thought about doing Dev History for MSs from A.D.?
Hell yeah
Big win
Best GM is Custom and Quel. That new ReZeon version looks really cool!

The Javelin and Jamesgun Development History will be sooner rather than later.
@@kakarot197 I can't wait! Thanks for the update!
The long rifle has made a bit of a recent resurgence in Gundam Battle Operation 2 as the Hizack Cannon's main ranged weapon, although it's depicted as a beam rifle
You called it
The Gundam TR legacy is convoluted and outright insane
Can we please get more of the various Gundam What Ifs?
It would be so nice for Bandai to release some standard release HGUC AOZ kits again. Kakarot must be a newtype to predict this
Ngl, kinda wish they would adapt some advance of zeta mangas so many aoz suits like the hazel and woundwort needs to be seen in their animated glory
I think the arms of the GM Quel early type being the same as the GM Custom was talking about their performance, not how they looked.
Seeing how popular AoZ is...i dont doubt we'll get a pbandai model.
mars is goddamn crazy
I wonder when the Xekueins will get its own development history video.
based
Do weird seeing the aoz red finger tips on a standard gm custom
That long rifle Is a cursed gun
I might get another HG Quel and use the Zeon colors
My favorite grunt suit is the gm quell because it's the most customizable mobile suit of all time don't @ me
We need a Gunpla model of that Red and White colored Quel.
I hope to see one on the different efreet series of suits.
I'd kill for a mg version
I would love to hear your thoughts on the Gundam Kestrel and Gullinbursti and Knoll from Advance of Zeta : the Traitor of Destiny Kakarot197.
If they make a pbandai I'm buying it without question
Hmmmmm a cheese burger gundam now that is a gundam.
Please please please make more development history videos!
GM long rifle looks like a mix of an M60 and L86.
There will always be more Quels.
Long Rifle deserves more!
One thing I have a question about is would Zeta be different if the Titans stick with the gm quel
0:57 it was actually too expensive as it uses parts from the NT-1
Seems the robot damashii quel release was referring this scene though
wish they give the GM quel MG the 2.0 treatment and give it the long rifle
Wish the Dolmel was made canon. It's probably a rights issue.
Whats the story of Zeon Mars? I ddint now they still alive since late UC timeline
I thought the reason why the federation didn't kept the custom was because it was too expensive to make as the armor was too strong or something..
Where did you find the Gm Quel chart? I would love that if you can shoot a link
MA-05 Bigro Development History next please or consider it?
Actually made a HG RGM-79N cannon high mobility variant id like to show sometime if i get the chance 😊.
2:25 Dude... the arms are just rotated is all. They do that. XD
No, the GM Type C and Early Quel have circles on the arm joints, while the Custom and normal Quel don't, so there's an actual difference
Please do development history for the Nemo.
Sorry if it has been covered, but since the GM Quel was pretty good, why did they trade it in for Hijacks?
But, just love that but.
I dont get whats with the weird cockpit hatches. Why are they shaped like that?
As always, the inevitable question is: do you want to... wait I mean will this get a model kit?
Answer: Most likely as a P-Bandai.
I am with you, that is a really good gun.
Does this mean gbo2 potential?
So ... Future addition to gbo2 roaster?
Still waiting for a zeonic front sequel for thr ps5 .
why does weight matter in zero g?
More pbandai AOZ!!!
I smell p Bandai
I can see why the GM Custom wasn't successful, it didn't have an identity.

Im late 😅
If Sunrise wants to convince me that that all those GM Quel and Hazel variants are canon, they need to officially release Advance of Zeta in the west. Otherwise, what GM Quel Early Type?
The main designer of aoz, Kenki Fujioka is half parazlysed due to an accident. He is recovering so there would be a lot more info on aoz in general.
The GM is pretty cool but I thought the good guys used it
