I'm a Bury girl and I absolutely love black pudding, Chadwicks was the first stop on a Saturday when me and mum would go on the market. This brought back lots of happy memories, walking round the market with a steaming hot black pudding, thanks for a great vid 😊

Honestly guys thanks for this video. Im a Blackburn lass and have lived abroad and in the south for the majority of my life, this was so comforting to watch, i love the northern markets. My Grandparents had a flower stall on Blackburn market. 😊 I use to love getting a sarsaparilla and a bag of cockles 😊

I used to live a few miles from Bury and I've visited the market before. A truly great place. I live in South West France now with my wife and we'll be in the UK after Christmas. We'll visit Bury Market and empty the place. A really fabulous place. Thanks for posting this video...

@EllisWR we have farmers markets, pop-ups that are mobile vendor settings like this, what we call flea markets, and some strip malls that resemble it. We have a river walk that would be most similar.
Yeah it doesn't exist in any kind of scale in North America... it's all just giant supermarkets. All around where we have been living the last half year in Europe, there are markets everywhere... every city has a market.. and big grocery stores are not the norm.
I was taken on the hand cranked roundabout on the outdoor bit in the 60's and 70’s...that's all I remember, I still get into Bury now and then, still have my Bury FC badge from the 80's 😊

used to go to the market years ago and there was a bloke who used to walk around with his rabbit on a lead ! one of the few places where you can lace curtains and decent material as well as all the traditional foods

Bury are clearly doing something right, the 'proper english market' looks great, normal people going about their business, selling and buying. Leeds used to have a brilliant market, coach loads used to visit from all over the country, sadly the council have reduced it to a dump.

Great to see you enjoying my local market. I usually nip down to the fish market early on Saturday - you park two minutes away - (free parking for 45 minutes) and then quickly whip around the market getting fish, cheeses and other groceries and then call at the Scouse bakers on the way back to the car. All in 45 mins. Job done.
Black pudding's a superfood, high in iron. Would you guys consider going across the northern border and try our Scottish Stornoway black pudding for a comparison? Alas, I don't think tripe is easily found, though.
I love the stuff. Gotta say Scottish black pudding is top, same with your haggis I love it. Beautiful up there. Spent a lot of time diving around the lochs and it's just heaven on earth.

Authentic English food, delish pork/steak pies/winberry pie! unfortunately big cities have lost this taste and feeling....loved the proper breakfast sandwich (yummy), got me cravin for one😄..lovely market, wish we had more of these instead of supermarkets!😏
Love Bury market and we go every couple of weeks. I once tried the mustard with my black pudding thinking it was mild like a Dijon mustard didn't know it was home made. Wow it certainly cleared my sinuses.😂😂😂Those sausages may have been from the butchers stall opposite the fish market. They are so good ,they do lots of different flavours and have samples to try when we go on Saturdays. My Dad used to love wimberry pies. Really enjoyed your trip around the market.

I can't believe you were eating the black pudding like it was a cookie lol Great market prices as well, especially the bakery vendor. His pies were so cheap. So much fresh produce as well. So nice to see it's so available for you. I love how you get paper bags when you shop there. So sick of seeing one time use plastic in Asia and the rubbish disposal is bad. The UK is so clean and I can see Alicia always tucking her rubbish away for proper disposal. Well done both of you. Looks like a great day out. @@EllisWRThe weather here is probably better than your English Summer but it's Winter here in Sydney 😂 We also banned single use plastics here but it's very clean here. We don't litter really. You only have to worry about the sharks, spiders, snakes and crocodiles etc 😆 and they only really like tourists 😆
Winter fuel allowance was paid to many who did not need it, but was also paid to many who did need it. It should be paid to everyone who's pensions are below the level of the minimum wage - which is far above the level of most people's pension. A pensioner froze to death in Bury, Lancashire last year - how many more will die this year?

Authentic English food, delish pork/steak pies/winberry pie! unfortunately big cities have lost this taste and feeling....loved the proper breakfast sandwich (yummy), got me cravin for one😄..lovely market, wish we had more of these instead of supermarkets!😏

Love Bury market and we go every couple of weeks. I once tried the mustard with my black pudding thinking it was mild like a Dijon mustard didn't know it was home made. Wow it certainly cleared my sinuses.😂😂😂Those sausages may have been from the butchers stall opposite the fish market. They are so good ,they do lots of different flavours and have samples to try when we go on Saturdays. My Dad used to love wimberry pies. Really enjoyed your trip around the market.

In our town our market used to be thriving. Now there are only 3 stalls. Veg stall, meat stall and a fish stall.

I can't believe you were eating the black pudding like it was a cookie lol Great market prices as well, especially the bakery vendor. His pies were so cheap. So much fresh produce as well. So nice to see it's so available for you. I love how you get paper bags when you shop there. So sick of seeing one time use plastic in Asia and the rubbish disposal is bad. The UK is so clean and I can see Alicia always tucking her rubbish away for proper disposal. Well done both of you. Looks like a great day out. Can I suggest a large shopping tote so you don't drop any bits you buy? I even loved seeing the bus ride home. It's been a long time since my trip to the UK and I just love this! Xx

@@EllisWRThe weather here is probably better than your English Summer but it's Winter here in Sydney 😂 We also banned single use plastics here but it's very clean here. We don't litter really. You only have to worry about the sharks, spiders, snakes and crocodiles etc 😆 and they only really like tourists 😆
I luv honeycomb tripe..its hard to come by in my area these days though..must make an effort to get to Bury for this treat..😋..😋

Winter fuel allowance was paid to many who did not need it, but was also paid to many who did need it.
