This EP is absolutely insane, easy contender for EPOTY. The percussion is constantly interesting and manic, the sounds are fresh and crazy but never too much, the cover art and visuals are pretty much unparalleled. Experimentation is on point too, just great and border pushing stuff which is HEAVILY appreciated right now (funnily, it came out right after your “is dubstep running out of ideas?” video). Like, Absolute Zero has a full minute of crazy into before even getting to a drop, Shibui only has one insane drop in the middle, and so on. Just a sick EP all around. Amazing stuff.
Nitepunk has always been an artist I was keeping an eye on, ever since his contribution to KotRT 2, as his sound was ridiculously creative had potential leagues beyond any other artist in the scene. I was waiting for a debut EP from him for quite a while, and what we got doesn't just live up to my expectations, but absolutely surpasses it. This EP is not only my favourite EP of the year so far, but one of my favourite EPs I've heard in a long time. Every aspect of the EP is utterly stellar. The sound design is absolutely incredible, easily on par with the likes of Moody Good, all of the sounds have so much depth and flavour and they hit ridiculously hard. I absolutely love the style of the EP, the strong influences from 90s breakbeat and hip-hop give such a unique and refreshing feeling to the entire project, and it's loaded with tons of energy and personality. The ideas are also great, with Absolute Zero's really interesting progression and Shibui's jumpy groove being really stand-out examples of the creativity in this EP. I love how complex the composition is as well, some parts like Connected's second drop get really crazy. Overall this EP really is one of the best I've heard in quite a while, there really isn't an aspect that I didn't like about it, an absolute masterpiece from start to finish.
This EP is fucking insane. I’m a sucker for vocal-heavy bass music and this EP just hit that sweet spot for me. The sound design combined with the vocals is the best I’ve heard in a while. It’s like a more industrial and faster Moody Good. The drum design and sample choice is great imo. Definitely the best release of 2020 for me so far.
I love the EP, definitely find my self echoing your optimism in regards to this project changing things in the bass music landscape (especially in the storytelling and variety department). I'd have to say that my favourite is "Red Turbulence", I absolutely love the swagger and energy and I feel like the impact coupled with the atmosphere of the intro is second to none.
My favorite track is by far Absolute Zero, such a great and energetic track to start off the EP, I love the experimental blend of breakbeat, trap, dubstep and hardcore throughout the entire EP and I also love how all the tracks transition to one another. Definitely one of my favorite EPs of the year so far!
This EP by Nitepunk is easily one of the best things I've heard in a long time. This EP oozed the fun Nitepunk had making this, and that's something I havent felt in a while. I feel like the fun comes from every inch of the EP. The energy is always there, and always brings me in. It's also super fresh nowadays and really grabbed me. Deadman with Vulgatron was easily one of my favorite tunes of the past few years and this ep confirms it that Nitepunk is one to absolutely watch.
Nice review Connor! Glad you cover ir. I was super excited for this release, really love Nitepunk's music. The EP left me speechless, it's definitely one of the best EPs I've heard in the year! (The best if i'm not wrong) the production is super polished, the immersiveness (not so sure if this word even exists lol) of the whole experience through the EP is something I couldn't put into words as much as I try, also, I cannot decide between Absolute Zero and Shibui, both are my favorites but in different poles if you got me. Nitepunk has done an excellent job, also credits NSD for putting this out :) (I don't have many words in Spanish to describe it and even less to say it in English 😂)
Good music is pretty much timeless. Better late than never. His reviews helps me to explain to my friends how intricate music really is. ( I mostly run out of words because English ain't my mother tongue.) His reviews are priceless and right on the money most of the time.
Hey, just a question. Have you heard naughty talk by hukae? It was released on nsd a while ago now and is very unique. I love hearing your thoughts about tracks.
Really enjoy watching your reviews... Just one question. How come you don't use the original audio from the artist in the highest quality in the video as opposed to playing it through your speakers? Is it due to copyright restrictions or somthing?
What Maahir said, and also if I do it once, I have to do it for every review, and I simply don't have the money to buy everything and use the music. Don't wanna rip
Absolute zero is my favourite track, just makes me amazed of my taste in music getting weirder and weirder ever since first listening to edm 5 years ago
What did you guys make of ‘Red Turbulence’? Which track is your pick of the 4? Let me know in the comments! 💙
I'm an absolute sucker for 90s rave synths and neurofunk, such a breath of fresh air from the usual stuff from NSD, I absolutely loved it!
Red Turbulence my favourite.
Red turbulence ; kinda makes me think of it as the second part of “Golden Claws” gone rogue
Absolute Zero is fantastic
what other artists have bass tunes that touch on that that old school ravey vibe? love it, personally.

So glad Nitepunk's getting some proper attention lately

This EP was literal perfection. This is peak sound design
One of my favourite EP's of 2020!!
Shibui was my favourite off the EP, LOVE the vocals.
7:17 another example of that would be Golden Claws by him
The album art is SICK

The EP was amazing but it's not really my style. Too experimental but i can clearly recognise the quality and detail. 10/10

(I don't have many words in Spanish to describe it and even less to say it in English 😂)
Almost 10k subs. Love you Connor ❤️.

Please do a review of Culprate - Deliverance,KOAN sound - Dynasty EP.
There's literally no reviews of these albums on the internet.
Good music is pretty much timeless.

YES! Thank you!!!!
Au5 new ep plz
Really enjoy watching your reviews... Just one question. How come you don't use the original audio from the artist in the highest quality in the video as opposed to playing it through your speakers? Is it due to copyright restrictions or somthing?
It's either to prevent copyright, or he doesn't have the software to play the song directly

Absolute Zero is so freaking good
An English man attempting a vaguely Mexican accent is the most disturbing thing I've ever heard
Honestly I only really liked Absolute Zero.
