I'd like to ask about your banjo, please. It's a Clareen - am I right? I've visited their website, but can't find what I wish to know. Which model is yours? What sort of tone ring does it have? - it looks like an archtop type. It's got a lovely sound, bright yet with a pleasing delicacy to my ears. I've found American banjos such as Gibson's 'Mastertone' and Deering's 'Sierra' to be very heavy instruments, and can't help but feel that a good-sounding banjo doesn't need to be so heftily constructed (about 11lbs in weight). I've read that short scale (17 frets) instruments are apparently favoured by some for Irish music, however yours has 19 - what are your views on this? Thank you in anticipation!
This is a Clareen Oyster with a frosted head which helps with the slightly mellower tone. It also has a bone-in bridge and that helps round out the brighter sounds of the banjo. It’s an arch top tone ring.

I much prefer a 19 fret banjo. The 17 fret are too boxy sounding for my ear!
