Thanks for your video! I have been considering a grand seiko for a while. I have a Rolex submariner currently. I love it, it’s the perfect one watch collection. I am a mechanic, I work on equipment and I wear my submariner every single day. My concern with grand seiko is their pinned bracelets. With my Rolex it’s screw pins on the bracelet that are locktited in place. I’m worried over time with a grand seiko that the collared pins will wear out and one day I’ll find my watch on the floor. I am also wondering because my submariner on hot days my wrist as normal swells just a little. Rolex has their on the fly adjustment which works beautifully and doesn’t change the feel of the watch these GS have the pinned micro adjustments which means I would either have to set the watch a little large or bring a tool with me to make micro adjustments. I love everything about the GS watch itself it’s just the bracelet that has held me back. Even the DateJust I bought my Mom has a real cool on the fly link that can be deployed to expand the watch a little bit. I think if GS fixed their bracelets I could easily see myself all over grand seiko.
Thanks for watching. I definitely feel you on that I am the same way and my wrist can fluctuate a lot during the day. It’s the reason I stopped wearing my Longines Hydroconquest a lot, no adjustability or micro adjustments without the use of tools. I just put that watch on an aftermarket strap and I fixed that problem. You don’t want to spend this kind of money though just to then go have ti buy something else. Especially since the bracelet is so well finished. I do think this watch would look cool on a NATO though
Very true but spec for spec I think this watch offers a lot when compared to the explorer II. I agree though Rolex will never be dethroned from being thought of as king
It's a nice watch, but it doesn't pop anywhere as much as the either of the Explorer II dials. It's better than the Tudor Black Bay pro. Let's be honest, that bezel and that bracelet is purely a copy of the Rolex. Definitely not GS's finest moment.
Having bad hands on with both this and a polar explorer II about a week apart I agree that it is not as legible or pop like the explorer dial which of course is going to be important when out in the field. I can agree with that I’d def say this is above a black bay pro but probably under the rolex explorer II. While very nicely done and highly finished you can’t argue it’s pretty much a homage watch to the explorer II. They have a lot of other more original GMTs , one of which I’ll be putting up in the near future
One concern with Grand Seiko is the ultimate service. I shudder at the thought of sending a beautiful GS to the butchers at Seiko Service in Mahwah NJ. I sent them two Seiko and came back in terrible condition.
As someone else mentioned grand seiko had their own separate service center it’s like if you own a Volkswagen Beatle or a Lamborghini Aventador you get them serviced at two different places and they are two completely different companies even though they are owned by the same larger company.
@@WatchUnwind I get it, I respect the hustle but I also respect Rolex. What about forming the title as a question instead as to not directly attack another brand, and also create discussion?
Spec wise it a lot of bang for buck the same goes for omega, breitling, Panerai, oris, blancpain, any other brand than Rolex. Some grand seikos actually have been going over retail lately like some of their time only 37mm watches when they first came out and certain special editions
There are more youtube clips now than there were 10 years ago

I'm loving this Seiko and also like the hunter green. Really like the independent adjustable hour hand. Excellent review, thanks!
Thank you and thanks for watching
Looks beautiful and very solid! Great video brother!
Thanks for watching I appreciate, very cool watch I’m glad I got to play with
GS will never deliver a 'death blow' to Rolex for ONE reason. Marketing, Joe Egg has been brainwashed into thinking Rolex is king.

This is a very complicated case, dude. You know, a lotta ins, a lotta outs, lotta what-have-yous. Grand Seiko definitely holds its own though.
💯

Grand Seiko has their own service center in the states.

Exactly thanks for sharing this on my page. This watch space is all about learning together and making conversation
Yup, and Toyota delivers a death blow to Porsche....
Haha, come on you don’t think spec for spec in regard to price this is a serious alternative to the explorer II?
At LeMans they regularily do
Great video bro
Thank you
GS makes great watches but for some reason I just don’t connect to the brand. And I have too many watches already 😆! Best regards
Oh man couldn’t agree more! Love their work but I also can’t connect with the watch!
I have heard that for a few people. I’m sure that are brands that I don’t content with too but if you seen one in person you might change your mind
Tacky title
If I simply put the model name no one sees the video on their algorithms

@@KurtGodel-po3zl good idea because I definitely do respect Rolex. I own some, want to own more, and treasure them.
if you sell it the day after you will get not more then 4.500 so where is alot of bank for buck bro??

Thanks for watching as always
