I've been hiding under a mushroom since the pandemic. I know enough to know how to vote for the good of the planet for all the good of may or may not do. I don't watch the news and I stay away from social political media. I play in the garden, spin my wool and make warm quilts. My husband is battling cancer, and I haven't time for the worries of the world. Stay strong, Colette. Your input in the world is one of my holds on what is good in this world. I'm researching as we speak, my great uncle who died age 19 in 1917. His 'body' was found in 1920. My life has changed so much since 2020. I now live as simply and peacefully as I feasibly can. I often think back to the 'good old days'. At 70 now and all of the older generation gone, I do get quite nostalgic ❤
You are so right it is too easy to be pulled down by the unconscionable goings on in the word today. My mother would have said that "the world had gone to hell in a handcart!" yet this morning I looked out of my window at the bird feeder and saw that a jay had discovered the nuts and was having a right old feast. It lifted my spirits and so I have turned away from the papers and media and spent a very wintery couple of hours down on the allotment. Nothing much to do but surrounded by trees, a little river and the birds. Home refreshed for a lovely cup of tea.

For the last few years, I mostly have removed myself from as much negativity as possible. I tune into my faith and nature. I tune out the noise of "talking heads." I stay aware and informed. However, I am not overwhelmed. I won't say I never become anxious, I just attempt to pull myself back from it. You have continued to be a source of peace and common sense. I agree wholeheartedly that it is essential to find the peace and joy in life right now with delight and enthusiasm for all of the many different things that are healthy and creative. We all are interintwined energetically and are in this together harmoniously and joyously sharing our love and care. Keep the energies of believing in the process of change and revitalization of our species with evolving into a more positive and humane civilization. We are witnessing the magnificence of life around us and our existence with love and a position of empowerment and not letting circumstances distract from the kindness of our journey together with love and harmony. Hi Colette, I love your channel, it is a place of sanctuary and escapism from the madness of this modern world. I know of 2 great uncles from New Zealand who were killed in WW1. They were brothers and were in their thirties and had to leave their very young families behind, and for what for it makes you think! As you know Colette, I have become a recluse with my Madge. I am so happy to be this way. I do not want to go out into a world of infection, and folk that do not care about one another. However, where I live in West Devon, folk are so much kinder to each other. I treasure each day I have, and do my best to live a kind and caring life. It hurts me when others are unkind, but I can only lead by example of being loving, and hope it may rub off on those that do not know the harm they cause with their unkind words and actions. There have always been challenges when humans are involved, who are never happy with what they have or who they are...I find joy in waking up in the morning with 24 beautiful hours ahead of me. I walk in the woods each and every morning with my dog. I am not in line with what is going on in the outside world, I look at it but don't attach to it, because for the most part I don't understand nor do I want to get sucked into the vortex of that madness. I have virtually walled myself off from the “news”. I was becoming more and more convinced that the world was not worth caring about. But in the end, our many wildlife encounters and the beauty of deep winter in northern Michigan slapped me back to MY reality. I have stopped watching the endless news footage of war and destruction; of posturing and cruelty in our political system and am consoling myself with our herd of deer, our ducks, wild turkeys, opossums and raccoons. My four rescue cats need nurturing and in turn they nurture me. Healing will be slow and filled with setbacks. But I can see a wee glister of hope as the calendar shifts itself once again. We , your followers and admirers, must stay stein and committed to healing ourselves and our broken world. I am glad I am not the only one who feels this way about the world today, it's such a shambles no matter where you are, due to greed, power, corruption, hate and politics - it's bloody awful. I am trying to centre myself each day with the beautiful garden I have created. I sit at my altar each morning, light my candles and incense and give thanks for the day - living from day to day, trying my hardest not to partake in the human world around me. Unfortunately, I work for the Government over here so it is very hard not to worry about things as I am bombarded with reports of what is going on... but I try my darnedest to put it into perspective and just live in my little bubble with my family and doggo... I have had the same feelings about the world. More and more I agree with you Colette. For me the way forward is to find myself a small place where I can have create my own food forest and live as much of the land as possible. Alright I do some times despair for my children and my grandchildren (when they come along) and the world they will have to navigate. For now I turn my back on things like politics and think of all the things I have to be grateful for, I do this so I can live in gratitude and positivity as much as possible. I have gradually opted out of general society, just surrounding myself with my kind friends. I spend much time in my garden and my cosy cottage, since my dear husband died 6 yrs ago and take great comfort in the cycles of the seasons. I enjoy your channel immensely as we seem to be singing the same tune. No mainstream TV (apart from things I choose either streamed or dvd) no Bull***t from the nasty side of humanity. I'm 100% with you and have felt this way since COVID. We too are focusing on our beautiful environment and treating people with kindness, with counting our blessings and being grateful for every day. I find that my body is more in tune with the Celtic calendar so tend to go with that more. Thank you for the joy and comfort you give. I have not watched the news since the so called election day here in the US. After almost a week of unbelief and sadness I decided tha at 70 I may not live for the next 4 years and he may not either. There's not a thing I can do about it and I need to be at peace. So I too have turned more to the beauty that surrounds me on the land that I've been blessed to steward these last 41 years and pray I will be around for many more to protect it and love it. Oh Colette! How right you are. I don't watch the news and live in a kind of bubble with my husband and Spike the cat. I garden, knit, bake and read. At 70, I find this world a desperate place and avoid the outside world as much as possible. How did we get to this? We are so blessed with the beauty all around us, with Mother Nature and yet we've managed to screw it up completely. Keep on with these videos as they provide a focus for those of us who feel like you. They allow us to connect with you, with each other and to feel that we are not alone. I agree wholeheartedly that it is essential to find the peace and joy in life right now with delight and enthusiasm for all of the many different things that are healthy and creative.
We all are interintwined energetically and are in this together harmoniously and joyously sharing our love and care. Keep the energies of believing in the process of change and revitalization of our species with evolving into a more positive and humane civilization. This craziness of our governmental and institutional greediness, aggressiveness and unimaginably cruelty with displays of murderous actions is appalling and not sustainable.
The world is watching and crys for peace and learning to live together harmoniously and to protect our Earth and all that exists.
It is a crying shame that we have to learn from this time of upheaval, chaos and insanity with weapons and militaries attacks on innocent people and the environment. Obviously, we have not learned from the past craziness of generations of animosities and horrendous acts of war.
We are extremely powerful, more than we can even imagine. Our light and love are the most powerful thing that ever existed. Use the power of love overcoming the way that is not acceptable and is awakening the world to respond with loving kindness, compassion, nurturing, honesty, integrity, civility and caring for all people equally with generosity of heart and mind. Taking the side of peacefulness and nurturing for ourselves, others and the Earth and all life. We are witnessing the magnificence of life around us and our existence with love and a position of empowerment and not letting circumstances distract from the kindness of our journey together with love and harmony. Please know that this is a very difficult time but we can change the world with our own individual voices, actions and intentions in being together harmoniously and peacefully regardless of the circumstances that surround us right now.

Hi Colette, I love your channel, it is a place of sanctuary and escapism from the madness of this modern world. I know of 2 great uncles from New Zealand who were killed in WW1. They were brothers and were in their thirties and had to leave their very young families behind, and for what for it makes you think! I give thanks every morning for my existence and gratitude before I go to bed as well, it's a ritual everyday that keeps me close to Mothrr Earth. Many blessings to you and dear little Patsy ❤❤

As you know Colette, I have become a recluse with my Madge. I am so happy to be this way. I do not want to go out into a world of infection, and folk that do not care about one another. However, where I live in West Devon, folk are so much kinder to each other. I treasure each day I have, and do my best to live a kind and caring life. It hurts me when others are unkind, but I can only lead by example of being loving, and hope it may rub off on those that do not know the harm they cause with their unkind words and actions. There have always been challenges when humans are involved, who are never happy with what they have or who they are...I find joy in waking up in the morning with 24 beautiful hours ahead of me. I walk in the woods each and every morning with my dog. I am not in line with what is going on in the outside world, I look at it but don't attach to it, because for the most part I don't understand nor do I want to get sucked into the vortex of that madness. I have virtually walled myself off from the “news”. I was becoming more and more convinced that the world was not worth caring about. But in the end, our many wildlife encounters and the beauty of deep winter in northern Michigan slapped me back to MY reality. I have stopped watching the endless news footage of war and destruction; of posturing and cruelty in our political system and am consoling myself with our herd of deer, our ducks, wild turkeys, opossums and raccoons. My four rescue cats need nurturing and in turn they nurture me. Healing will be slow and filled with setbacks. But I can see a wee glister of hope as the calendar shifts itself once again. We , your followers and admirers, must stay stein and committed to healing ourselves and our broken world. I am glad I am not the only one who feels this way about the world today, it's such a shambles no matter where you are, due to greed, power, corruption, hate and politics - it's bloody awful. I am trying to centre myself each day with the beautiful garden I have created. I sit at my altar each morning, light my candles and incense and give thanks for the day - living from day to day, trying my hardest not to partake in the human world around me. Unfortunately, I work for the Government over here so it is very hard not to worry about things as I am bombarded with reports of what is going on... but I try my darnedest to put it into perspective and just live in my little bubble with my family and doggo... I am grateful that you are still on RUclips Colette - I love watching your videos, it brings me a piece of Ireland each time I see them - I also love your thoughts on different subjects - blessings to you lovely lady xxx

I have had the same feelings about the world. More and more I agree with you Colette. For me the way forward is to find myself a small place where I can have create my own food forest and live as much of the land as possible. Alright I do some times despair for my children and my grandchildren (when they come along) and the world they will have to navigate. For now I turn my back on things like politics and think of all the things I have to be grateful for, I do this so I can live in gratitude and positivity as much as possible. Oh Colette you are so right, listening to you the past few years is like being inside my own head. I have also felt this so strongly as i despair. I have gradually opted out of general society, just surrounding myself with my kind friends. I spend much time in my garden and my cosy cottage, since my dear husband died 6 yrs ago and take great comfort in the cycles of the seasons.
I enjoy your channel immensely as we seem to be singing the same tune. No mainstream TV (apart from things I choose either streamed or dvd) no Bull***t from the nasty side of humanity. Mother Earth is my guide. Thank you for struggling . You are not alone in your thoughts. I can assure you 😊

I'm 100% with you and have felt this way since COVID. We too are focusing on our beautiful environment and treating people with kindness, with counting our blessings and being grateful for every day. I find that my body is more in tune with the Celtic calendar so tend to go with that more. Maybe it's an age thing but I no longer value the same things I did when I was younger and feel more contented, but dispare at man and in particular politicians. Blessings to you too.

Thank you for the joy and comfort you give. I have not watched the news since the so called election day here in the US. After almost a week of unbelief and sadness I decided tha at 70 I may not live for the next 4 years and he may not either. There's not a thing I can do about it and I need to be at peace. So I too have turned more to the beauty that surrounds me on the land that I've been blessed to steward these last 41 years and pray I will be around for many more to protect it and love it. Oh Colette! How right you are. I don't watch the news and live in a kind of bubble with my husband and Spike the cat. I garden, knit, bake and read. At 70, I find this world a desperate place and avoid the outside world as much as possible. How did we get to this? We are so blessed with the beauty all around us, with Mother Nature and yet we've managed to screw it up completely.
Keep on with these videos as they provide a focus for those of us who feel like you. They allow us to connect with you, with each other and to feel that we are not alone.
