You know what’s also physically demanding? Actually picking up a shovel and having to work. I’ve had to swing those pumps around and I’ll tell you what, it ain’t shit brother hahahaha. When you have to wheelbarrow concrete in then come bitching to me but if it’s out of a pump you’ve got it easy. But then again, we all know why you’re a concreter… couldn’t read a level nor learn angles so you had to go the one profession more braindead than a bricklayer
If I had a concrete pumper show up and tell me I had to clean HIS pump before he started pumping, I may have to slap him. You should have called that fool out.
As a pump truck operator, I want to acknowledge that I am aware he's probably not 100% serious but no one besides a pump operator sees the stresses and pains of being an operator. We are easily one of the most dangerous pieces of equipment on the job site and we're responsible for our pump hurting people (obviously) plus making a mess and being sloppy looses you work so yeah feel free to be a shithead if you like but being careful will usually be a better deal.
The last part doesn’t always apply to the truckers. Larger firms have “baths” that the lower ends of the trucks can be submerged in to essentially make the cleaning automatic.
Idk about you guys but the person manning the end of the hose is usually always part of the finisher's crew and is named Jose. The actual pump truck driver, Hose B, just stands there with his remote controls watching had or verbal signals from hose handler Jose
“Pull my hose. Keep pulling until stuff comes out. Once all the stuff comes out the hose will shrink and I’ll leave to get lunch.” Yeah, best job ever.
@Charles Larson not everyone is a pussy like you. Pumping isn’t easy . When you dhotcrete walls those hoses are not light . And usually they drag they’re own pump as they go it’s a lot of weight and pressure
Having FINISHED concrete for a while I AGREE with you! BUT, the boss (company owner 30 years in business), would ONLY give you ONE CHANCE to make mess, show up late, not get ready before the mud got there (two brothers ran finish company, other two brothers drove for batch plants and dispatched for them (so our mud was ALWAYS ON TIME)). If you DID NOT, no matter how much it cost them, your pumper would not get a call for 6 months! We brought a pumper in from TWO COUNTIES AWAY, to pump a footing ACROSS THE STREET from a pumper who cost us a day cleaning up!
I threw my hard hat like a Frisbee at a pumper who blew the hopper all over my new truck. I got a 2 week suspension for that. Yes I hit him. Broke the hard hat. I still have it !
I have witnessed this phenomenon. Lol had it happen to my work truck so I took my cure sprayer, pumped it up and unloaded it in the guys igloo water cooler.
Would it be worth putting a ceramic coating on the trucks? Would the concrete just come right off? Do people already do this stuff? I have questions I need answers!
I swear I got a pumper one time that I had to hold back punching him in the face... On the phone the whole time, not listening to us at all. Dumped concrete everywhere, then washed his truck out in the customers backyard. I'd think " no way that guy still has a job"... but apparently this is common

Right? Maintain your own shit. What a lazy fuck?
“pull my hose?” sus 😂
Pumpers love to spill concrete on grass 😂
As a pump truck operator, I want to acknowledge that I am aware he's probably not 100% serious but no one besides a pump operator sees the stresses and pains of being an operator. We are easily one of the most dangerous pieces of equipment on the job site and we're responsible for our pump hurting people (obviously) plus making a mess and being sloppy looses you work so yeah feel free to be a shithead if you like but being careful will usually be a better deal.
My old boss was knocked out clean(could've died) from the concrete backing up inside the hose causing an explosion
I love the choice of words
If a pump truck told us that, he would get sent down the road/fired in new york.
I’d fire his lazy ass too.
but as the pumper u still gotta roll up that heavy ass pipe gotta have muscle
The last part doesn’t always apply to the truckers. Larger firms have “baths” that the lower ends of the trucks can be submerged in to essentially make the cleaning automatic.
Tf I’ve worked construction that pumper would have been on the ground beat by every worker there if they tried some shit like that
“1 hand no looking”, “the finishers”
Idk about you guys but the person manning the end of the hose is usually always part of the finisher's crew and is named Jose. The actual pump truck driver, Hose B, just stands there with his remote controls watching had or verbal signals from hose handler Jose
“Pull my hose. Keep pulling until stuff comes out. Once all the stuff comes out the hose will shrink and I’ll leave to get lunch.”
Yeah, best job ever.
3 seconds of best, its honest work
“ Clean my pump “?? I would have told him to do it himself tf 😂😂
I build pools in Arizona and shotcrete guys are hands down the most in demand trade in the industry. Y’all are the MVPS 🙌🏾
My pumpers aren’t allowed to make a mess I’ll make them clean it up..
No, you won’t. stop acting all hard
@@charleslarson5983yes he will, I’ve seen him.
Why do you have to try and counter what you perceive as “acting hard” by acting hard?
@Charles Larson not everyone is a pussy like you. Just because you won't ever do anything and you would let people step on you doesn't mean everyone else is the same lmao a lot of people are actually about that shit . I personally don't take this bullshit, I'm sure Orlando doesn't either. Grow a pair, don't take the bullshit either.
LOL! Some would say you are a sucker for cleaning the pumpers equipment!
Concrete mixer driver here. In Canada we don’t clean anything other than our own equipment and if you need to clean your equipment with my water you wait till I am done rinsing my shoot and fins then you can use (some) of the water from (my) water tank. If that shit happens here. My truck would of left with the concrete sooo fast. Never would seen me again.
I would’ve told you to sit your fat ass in the truck while the men work and we’ll let you know when you can drive off
Pumping isn’t easy .
My pumer named Rod would lay down clean mud. Bearly had to scread it. And that pumper punked you.
I threw my hard hat like a Frisbee at a pumper who blew the hopper all over my new truck. I got a 2 week suspension for that. Yes I hit him. Broke the hard hat. I still have it !
😂 your in the Union ?
I have witnessed this phenomenon. Lol had it happen to my work truck so I took my cure sprayer, pumped it up and unloaded it in the guys igloo water cooler.
I'm the pumper and my girls the finisher 😉
Dude, the pump truck driver is basically the same except he gets to play with a robot arm all day LMAO
You think the pumper has an easier job than you because you need to clean your truck?
While your standing around, they wrestle a 500lb concrete hose.
No not his Pumpers they show up until the other guys to drag the hoses and those guys just believe that it's their job and that the pump man doesn't need to control anything but the tip
@@Peteyourmeat sounds like your concrete Pumpers got it easier than electricians they usually bring their own hose boys and assist in that work as well or I guess all your guys doing the hose work are just that fucking stupid to do another man's job for him
We get it you hold a hose for a living and its really heavy to you. End of the day your job is braindead easy and ment for people who never went to school.
tedo fuentes the absolute irony of a beaner saying this 🤣
@@yzrippin im a white canadian.. dont make assumptions you just make yourself look like ass
After 35 years as a finisher . I've seen good and bad pumpers. We kept bringing in pumpers we knew . Splashing, that's what plastic is for , protect what you don't want concrete on .
