Awww, I just love Dr. Smith’s delivery of this material and general demeanor in interacting with audience members; it’s evident that he is in touch with the principles of psychosynthesis as conceived by Assagioli on both a personal and professional level. I especially enjoyed the discussion of subpersonalities, starting at 39:28. Thank you so much for posting this fabulous talk!

'Give a man a fish and you'll feed him for a day. Teach a man how to fish and he'll support himself for a lifetime.' By teaching people the fundamentals of self-exploration, the essential what's, why's and how's, then people can learn not only to address imbalances in their conscious self, but also to connect on a daily basis with their higher self and maintain it. This is why Assagioli's work was and is so important. Yes, it's great to have a 'guide', but at some point you have to become interdependent on the higher self and discover your own truth for yourself.

That was awesome. Experiencing a lot of synchronicities lately and you, first, brought to my attention what synchronicities are so I could realize what’s been going on around me (things that led me to this video), and, second, really helped me picture what psychosynthesis is and how it really aligns with my dreams of being a psychedelic psychotherapist. Thank you to the lecturing professor and the university.

delishimo - sorry for the delayed reply. We didn't get notified of your comment through e-mail. Not sure if you researched this by now, but in case you were still wondering, I thought I would provide this link from the American Psychoanalytic Association that may answer your question: www.apsa.org/Training/Educational_Pathways_to_Psychoanalysis.aspx
Feel free to contact one of our advisors at Bastyr if you are interested in studying psychology as we have an amazing program here. www.bastyr.edu/admissions/application-process/admissions-advising-information
