Athena is such a sweet baby! Hope her leg heals.
I, too, do not like the alterations for "cosmetic " reasons. I had 2 Australian Sheps who luckily still had their tails. I do understand, however, in their case, how messy the area can become. Miss them both terribly.

A chiropractor cannot assist with a torn something, but I'd glad you were able to give little pup's momma a second opinion, which matched the vets, as I understand it? I get her hesitation - surgery on our pets can be so very expensive and sometimes we're just not in a position to be able to pay for it. I hope the temporary brace helps! Thank you, Doc, for doing what you can - little pup is an adorable little bundle 😊

Dr Willen’s talented hands are like an X-RAY machine, he knew for sure that it was Athena’s right ACL torn. I know it might be expensive but I hope Carmen would decide to do the surgery cause that pain isn’t fun at all. The tape gave her a little support 👍and in the end she was barking at the cameraman/camerawoman. I hope she’ll feel better soon and will come back with an update. Let’s give Dr Doug a round of applause 👏, I know from the experience he’s that amazing and talented, let’s not forget how nice and kind he’s as well. Have a nice 👍 week doc

Hi Doctor Doug, greetings from Oz. I am frequently amazed by the conditions of the animals in your videos. As a 64 yr old almost crippled over the past 3 years i have finally found someone who has identifed the cause of an issue that had left me in pain when standing. A simple orthotic to support my foot arch has me walking again pain free, but the fact that the animals you treat who must also be in pain seem to amazingly continue to move about leaves me in awe. Thanks for all you do.

@2:48 WTH??!! I'm SO glad this dogs' mom did not take the surgeons advice and remove the femur bulb!! Smh
I mean, I'm no Dr but??!! If u remove the part that holds the bone in place, guess whatch'ya get?!! A loose bone floating around inside!! Not just that but look at the x-ray!! Where does the x-ray show the joint is bad?!! Again, I'm no Dr and I've not taken any special courses in x-ray but idt it takes a rocket scientist to see-- the joint looks normal! Stevie Wonder could see this!! Smh
This lil dog woulda had such huge issues after a sx like that. I'm glad the mom landed in ur !
I'm goin back to watchin' how u fix this!!
??why is she breathing like this? I understand why she would pant, but I'm referring to the labored breathing. I think I've heard this mostly in the dogs w short snouts or severely overweight dogs. This girl doesn't have those things. Stress makes a dog pant but this sounds different than just a pant. I am hearing things?? Lol she's got labored breathing doesn't she??
    Anybody else hearing this??

Yeah, she’s toe-tapping. I blew out my ACL twice and each time had it repaired. Also has a dog that blee out her ACL. She had surgery where the vet used a wire to replace it. A fee weeks post-op she got out and ran and snapped the wire. Had surgery to remove it. Then weeks later they did cut the tibial head off, twisted it , and set it. She lived many years aftet that.

I wish I had known about pet chiropractic 20 years ago. Perhaps I could have saved my beloved Aussie Cattle Herder from pain and painful surgery to her femurs. I would have driven her hundreds of miles to have avoided that. I finally found a vet who said she did chiropractic, but our Mitilda was quite old by then, 14, and I don’t really think it did her much good. She was probably way too arthritic by then. I still miss that feisty dog. She chased would-be burglars away from our house, twice, 5 years apart. We rescued her, starving, in a park, and she repaid us with loyalty, bravery ( except in thunderstorms) and herded us as necessary, which was typically when we were rushing to get out of the house on time for work and school 😂.

Be great to do a compilation of follow ups on some of these pets and animals, if possible.
I'm not a big fan of vets, who so readily, can be dismissive of chiropractors, even found on RUclips with their skewered bias.
I like that you mention about second opinions and co-operative/collaborative mindset with vets. Goes back to what Ronald said, trust but verify.
And gave advice what to keep an eye out for long-term.
Ultimately, the marker of success is the animal and the pet owner seeing/feeling a positive outcome and that you have served them well, not prioritising your ego.
I liked the pet owner's reaction when you mentioned keeping check on the dog's weight.
