Sometimes we get wrapped up in the “in” place or thing without understanding what we want our lives to look like. I live in Northern California, and I love crafting. The Joann Fabric in my town closes its doors next week. 30 miles away, another Joann Fabric closed its door this week. My grandmother quilted with other women during the winter. I believe crafting helps relieve stress and possibly provides a pathway to good mental health.
It seems like some of the 'homemaking' skills that those of us who are of a certain age learned are being phased out of the US culture - probably because things are so expensive that everyone has to work until they drop. Fabric and yarn/craft stores are plentiful here in Lisbon.

I think one of the reasons that we've heard the stories of folks dropping dead right after they retire is because of the stress of the unknown. We, in the Black FIRE movement would like to re-define what "retirement" looks like. Instead of it being something that we do right before we die, it should be another chapter that doesn't necessarily mean that we stop earning money. 😉
Definitely take up ballroom dancing. It’s a great way to meet people and you can join in anywhere in the world. You’ll love it. Be careful it’s addictive. I’ve been doing it for 12 years. Btw I’m 60 so you’re never too old.

I have subscribed to your channel and find it to ne very informative, However, I was just wondering. I know the Catholic church is dominant in Portugal. Are there Protestant churches there and specifically are there any churches where Blacks attend? Do Afro-American Blacks meet and greet but not in a church setting? Just curious!
They named a church in Lisbon that has a large or substantial Af-American attendance that was Protestant.
