I started at SWIFT and I’m very grateful to them. They definitely have their problems but they got me started in trucking and taught me the ropes so I’ll always be grateful.
I worked for Schneider National and I do recommend them for their training and Lease purchase. I like picking my loads versus having to get them from your company or calling brokers!!!!!!
Whats up WB!!! The best CDL driver I know and is the best parking magician drives for SWIFT. My top 5 rookie companies would be Knight Transportation, SWIFT, Millis Transfer, Heartland Express, Nussbaum
@@WildBeardTrucking Hey bud. I dont think they do. Think they want 6 months, which is still a rookie and making 66-68cpm 80-90kper year. Thats why I put them down. Thanks bro.
I started my career with Pam transportation I learned the hard way with Pam but I'm thankful for them..Crst took up the slacks and further my career and made me a much better driver, Crst was very patient because I was a pistol bro I'm telling you and not in a bad way but in a good way they gave me the experience for the driver I wanted to be and not to be
Hey brother! Thank you for your videos! I got my CDL 4 years ago at CR England (Terrible experience and I drove only for 3 months) I’m thinking to give another shot but I need a refresh! Do you think Prime Inc should be a good option for me? You didn’t mention Prime Inc in your top 5 list. I have CDL but I need a refresh / train to start driving again! I really appreciate your opinion! Thank you and god bless you! 🙏
i just bing watched majority of your videos, i dont usually comment on any video but had to say your enthusiasm and energy on what you do is outstanding, i am a Canadian driver thats has done all sorts of company jobs. i am about to take the first step forward after 22 years of driving into the lease operator pool. if possible what advise would you have and what 3 main factors would you say is the most important for success. sincerely Big Harv aka Papatrucker.
Appreciate you papatrucker. 1. Work- pretty basic but you have to realize that your multiple weeks off a year are now over. You have to work as hard as you can for as long as you can. 2. Taxes- find a good local tax person. Somebody who will care about you and want your repeat business. I buy everything for my truck off of Amazon and put all my write offs in a spreadsheet at the end of the year. I did a whole video about this. 3. Your dispatcher is your business partner. Treat them well and they’ll keep you fed and advocate for you in the office.
You missed a big one. TMC Transportation. They have a great school program for CDL holders and also if you don't have one yet. Flatbed trucking is the way to go. I am currently in the TMC training program.
Funny! 😂 hey guys! Wild B, I never hear you say anything about Lady Truckers…. Unless “Bro” means everyone! ;) anyways, working on my CDL…parallel is a bit complicated for me….but working on it! Be safe out there!
When I called hirsch a few months ago they said I needed 1 year of experience otherwise I would of come there. I went to another entry level company you didn’t mention. I like the fact hirsch has unique looking trucks. How about companies good to switch to after a year?
I started back in the late 80’s on my own, I already had the license, I got it working for a household moving agent and they required all employees have a combination license whether they drove or not. I ended up at a company that needed a transfer driver pulling doubles and said here’s the keys go learn to drive a semi. Through trial and error I slowly began to learn how to drive, back up etc. I’ve now got several million miles under my belt but the one thing I can pass on to someone else, I never consider myself a know it all or “supertrucker” and I learn something new each a every day. When you become Complacent is when is when you need to step back and look at the bigger picture.
Tyson is usually a good experience. Mainly drop and hooks. But some of those places.....BRUH. never seen so many trailers packed into a small facility. If there that busy they need to buy more property. 🤢 And the smell. I just gagged thinking about it.
I recommend Thomas E Keller trucking! They will pay for your CDL school and it is only a 6 month commitment for it to be fully paid. I was with them for three years after school an only left due tk finding a local job! So i highly recommend them.
@@WildBeardTrucking it’s by the load as a owner op not a company driver pay. But we just did a couple loads utah to Washington $2.70cpm using their trailers
Hey new subscriber here! I start cdl school at TDI in florida may 13th. One company that in looking at that you didnt mention, probably because the require 6 months exp min so not a newbie company, is Heyl. They arent a huge mega carrier bit they are one if the only companies i dont see other yt tuckers talking smack about. My goal is to start with swift(they are convenient for me personally), then go to Heyl, amd at 3 years go to walmart. Obviiusly walmart isnt a starter company as thwy want at a min 2.5 years. But after 1 year youre in 6 figures for salary.

Yes Nussbaum does , they will have to be out for 4 to 6 weeks. Then 4 weeks solo, the 4 weeks running the Rockies
I’m a trainer for Nussbaum
Definitely been to that DC in AR before 😂

I put my application in yesterday. I'm hoping they hire me and if so will be starting last week of April.
I start with them on the 1st. New inexperienced driver.
If you're in the great lakes region ALTL and NTB/Ruan are decent starts too.
Hi Wild Beard
I put you down as a referral... they all started laughing and hung up on me ! What da? 😅
lol who? Did you call Jordan?

US Express isn't bad, a friend of mine went to work for them as a rookie 8 years ago, and still there. Alot of regional and dedicated accounts.

Been getting clean for the past few days gonna start this detox and hopefully start my trucking career here in Texas western tech
Proud of you brother.
Hunts Brothers Pizza is actually pretty damn good for gas station pizza.

Which navigation make & model is on your dash?
It’s an old garmin. I don’t know the make it’s too old for me to even remember.
Glad you have a good sense of smell.
#ooooooohyeah
What about Prime Inc ? Or Steven's?
I started at stevens transport. Excellent training but horrible pay and they always found a reason to deduct money from your paycheck.
American Central Transport in Kansas City MO they where an amazing company to start with
Keep your distance from Swift Northeast Intermodal. Low pay.
We Ride at Dawn 😂
Love you brother.
@@WildBeardTrucking love you too bro
JB Hunt does hire new drivers. You have to call and speak to a recruiter. Hirschbach doesn't hire new drivers. You need experience with them.
Hirschbach hires right out of CDL school.

There’s one account I think it’s family dollar. That’s all I know about.

Also heard they are a second chance company as well.

So true
Hirsbach isn't really a rookie company either , dude. Need at least 6 months. More than JB hunt
