Time takes the present away, and also takes tomorrow away. The sadness of this song is overwhelming. This is how you play this beautiful song in this lovely old Church. How poignant it is.
I have listened to your whole "Transcriptions" Series today, in order, they are a very beautiful set. Each time you upload one, I wonder what the next one will be. The simplicity and beauty of the melody of "Tomorrow's Song" makes it very memorable and touching, the tone of your lute and the mood you create are haunting. It replays vividly in my mind, creating a myriad of emotions. I look forward to your next performance in this wonderful Series Alberto, thank you.
What a stunning Baroque lute sound. There is no lute out there that sounds better than yours Alberto, no matter what you are playing. Your communication of emotion is peerless. This is a wonderful piece, BRAVO!!!!!!!
I'm really glad you chose to play this piece as part of your "Transcriptions" Series. It is not only a very beautiful melody, but there is a quality to the tone, sound and affect of your Baroque lute here that I haven't heard before anywhere else in your repertoire. If you hadn't played this piece I may perhaps never have heard it. I can't describe it in words, but it is very distinctive, and very beautiful.
Played in this setting, the melancholy of "Tomorrow's Song" is profound. I can't separate your interpretation from the setting of the Church, with its great beauty corroded by time, suggesting the inevitability of the passing of time, that time is eternal change. There is a great feeling of wistfulness and regret in the music, that nothing can be held, that no matter how beautiful something is, it will pass. That's why your interpretation is so sad to me. This song is one of those that seems to be for all times and places. It is wonderful
Alberto, this is so stunning. The song, and your interpretation and performance of it, are exquisite. The dusky sound and tone of your Baroque lute express shades of meaning and emotion I haven't heard in this song before. It sounds to me to be the perfect instrument for its performance. Tomorrow, that unknown place of dreams and sorrows, so simple, so beautiful, and so moving. Thank you for your perfect, heartfelt performance, and for the lovely piano graphic.
