@@Ezeudu Yeah, let's be real, Mark Davis will find a way to hire another coach with a lot of name recognition, possibly some controversy and not much in coaching department... and a GM who can't draft or sign players properly. (and hearing a Jim Harbaugh rumor made me shudder; even if I could see him being a good NFL coach again, considering everything else going on... well. And it would be a peak Mark Davis choice)
I still remember my Raiders' gravestone from last year, "You seriously hired McDaniels". I don't know what you plan on doing for this year's eliminations, but if we miss the playoffs again I fully anticipate it to say "At least you fired McDaniels".
I imagine Tree won't repeat the same elimination gag from last year but honestly I hope he does. Oregon Trail tombstones are timeless (unlike the Among Us or Squid Game eliminations from a couple of years ago which referenced then-popular memes that have fallen off), versatile thanks to the customized epitaphs, and fit right into the channel's sense of humour/video gaming aesthetic.
Was disappointed in the Diamondbacks loss, but they have a young team and will be a threat for a long time. Congrats to the Rangers on the World Series win!
I'M CALLING BOTH GAMES! Also, just wanna say again how much I appreciate the series, Tree. By far my favorite recap on the site and the one I look forward to the most.
Shocked the battle for MetLife wasn’t a greatest game. Then again, maybe tree was just saving himself from the pain of having to look at that game for more than he had to
Was a bit worried when I came home from work and sportsball wasn't out yet. Then I was reminded that the world series was a thing and everything was all right. Never get tired of hearing 'I'M CALLING BOTH GAMES'.
In defense of the Lions using Gibbs, it looks more like he’s been getting more comfortable each week adjusting to the NFL. Also, did any other team have a better draft class so far this year?
Sneaking in that Nancy Kerrigan "why? why?" clip during Cousins' injury was classic. Still hoping to hear the opening bars of "Green Acres" when Cam Akers scores.
16:47 PEAK football. Dude has a clear path to the QB, instead turns around and goes after the running back, and then the QB throws it there anyways lol.
2 lolcows of the week, Derp song, Battletoads bgm and top tier editing make this a favorite in Sportsball history. You outdid yourself this week, and I thank you
It never fails to amaze me. Week after week QBs are dropping like flies. And that is a difficult position to train recruits in outside of running back and maybe field goal kickers. Surprised a Houston university's decision to wear an Oilers themed jersey when the Oilers name belongs to Tennessee wasn't Lolcow of the Week. But we have had a few straight weeks of college football getting that honour already so time to give it to the pros. I'm also surprised that the NFL trade deadline is just before the halfway point of the season. In an 18 week season you'd think Week 12 would have been a more appropriate time for the deadline.
the Chex Quest reference @3:23 unlocked a core memory of mine...I didnt get the game but a friend did...i remember plying it but dont remember if we liked it or not lol.
The 49ers seriously look like the 2021 Rams. Assembling the avengers on the D-Line, strong start into 3 game skid and not being in control of the division. There’s more but it’s scary how much there is in common
As a Commies fan...the fact that we just got "OOF" when talking about our trades put me in that "I'm laughing, but that not what the tears are from" territory.
I would make the case that a switch has flipped for VJ's defense. I think Sean Payton is forcing his hand in the defense these past few games. You notice he's always standing over VJ? That can't be a coincidence, I think. If I had to guess, this transition started after the Dolphins game, but wasn't concrete until our first match up against KC. Since that time, we've given up *19 to KC *17 to Green Bay *9 to KC. Something feels different. I don't feel ready to hitch my wagon to the "new Broncos" yet, considering how this season and these past 8 years have gone, but I feel like the culture has finally been fixed, and perhaps the playing will come along.
As a Steelers fan, I have suffered extreme amounts of pain. But as soon as I hear “IM CALLING BOTH GAMES” its all ok again. As if, nothing happened this week.
The Packers trading away Rasul Douglas is absolutely asinine. The Packers traded away their best cornerback, a leader everyone could get behind, for scraps, because he lightly bad-mouthed the Packers' idiotic management and coaching. Take care of him, Buffalo. You got yourselves a dawg.
Looking back almost a year on, I’m glad Washington sold the farm after this game. We still have a ways to go, but I think we’ve definitely improved. I have us getting 6-8 wins in the 24-25 season.
As a raiders fan, thank you for your absolute gospel on McDaniels. I look forward to your thoughts on him in next week’s edition after the team’s most telling game all season - their first game without him. You could say it was the giants, but man… we lost to the fucking bears… I’d take beating Alabama at this point.
