Cherry shrimp, fire red cherry shrimp and black rose shrimp are all neocaridina dividi. Same with green jade and pumpkin shrimp, Bloody Mary shrimp, etc. They are just different colors.
I noticed that too, which is why I find it odd he focused so much saying some are harder to breed than others. Since they're all just different colors of the same species, shouldn't all their care and breeding tips be the same?
@@fcon2123no se como explicarlo en inglés pero aunque son las misma especie algunas variedades de color más específicas son más delicadas que otras debido a que las reproducen entre ellas mismas y tienen poca variabilidad genética lo que las hace más enfermizas
@fcon2123 no, think about dogs. They are the same species but all are different due to inbreeding over a long period of time and have different characteristics. It is the same logic for cherry shrimps. Except that their breeding time is so short. After a few years of breeding, you would have 15 to 20 different generations of inbreeding.
Your videos are not only informative but damn addictive. I know how hard it is to prepare a whole video but keep posting more and more, do different varieties of series regarding planted aquariums. Best wishes
Thanks for your comment. Yes it does take a lot of time to creat but the tierlist are really fun for me to do. The feedback I’m getting is amazing in the comments
Great tips! As a shrimp enthusiast, I really appreciate how detailed and practical this list is. Definitely adding some of these must-haves to my setup-thanks for sharing your expertise!🧡
Amazing content! Your dedication to promoting responsible aquarium care and maintenance is truly inspiring. Keep up the great work in educating and supporting the aquarium community! 🌊🐟
Very interesting knowledge, I thought at first raising shrimp was difficult, here you explain the tips very completely. And this makes me excited to try it immediately.
The recommendations for freshwater shrimp care are incredibly helpful. Thanks for sharing these essential tips to maintain a healthy and successful tank
These types of Shrimp are perfect for many people to add in their aquarium. Amano Shrimp is the best one. We need to always pay attention to the water conditions for the species to live comfortably. Thank you so much for doing this video.
Awesome video. I had ghost shrimp as my first a couple years ago. They for some reason always lasted a month before passing. Either me or my water parameters were off. I really could start with them again with fish that would pick on them. Hopefully neons or other Tetras/fish species that won’t prey on them.
I'm a complete beginner when it comes to caring for freshwater shrimp. I've kept fish before, and it hasn't been too complicated, but I'm curious about these shrimp.😅
They honestly arent as difficult as people make it out to be! Just keep stable environment with enough gh for them to molt, and note they are sensitive to copper which is in a lot of aquarium fertilizers ☺️ they will self regulate their population accordingly to space and food available. Less is more!
I would love to see this tier list adjusted for those of us who don’t want to breed them. It seems like all of B and C tier would be A or S tier if breeding was factored out of the ranking.
Oh. I haven’t though about ranking species but Gouramis would be a lot easier to do than others because they are so different when it comes to aggression and size
well...... I have 4 shrimp they are the same species and they have transparent bodies but one of them has a black spot above their neck, one has a red one, and two of them have a blue-ish black spot they´re about 2 cm but i dont know if they´re still young or just small. And what really confuses me is that when i bought them it said cherry shrimp. I dont know what to do D:
Ya that’s tough when shrimp are mis labeled. I would try posting on reddit to see if you can get a proper ID. I could do it here but RUclips doesn’t allow commenters to drop in photos for me to look at. I did have a discord setup a while back for subs to connect but no one ever joins it 😅
They are consider different breeds. I did the same with Betta fish and no one blinked an eye. Different breeding requirement, rarity, and some care differences

This is where you are wrong. They were bred in different conditions and have vast characteristics. It is no different than dog breeds.

Thank you for the video :)
I have a mix of jades & green apples in my 36 gal planted aquarium & I LOVE THEM SO MUCH! 🥹🥰
This channel is S tier
Thank you 🥰

Same to you! 😊
i have cherry shrimp (and other neocaridina davidi variants) and ghost shrimp in my 2 tropical tanks and they are my favorite crustaceans ever
Great video!
Thank you! 🥰
I love these tier rank videos and really all of ur vids in general. Idk why but I can't watch any other fish channel I just like yours
One thing I noticed with me versus other channels is the entertainment factor. Other channels are extremely educational but the delivery is dry.
@@AquariumStoreDepot yess exactly, it's toooo educational
Buying them online or at a box store they are costly 😮 especially dealing with the postage. Love the video ☺️😍
Ya they are expensive. If you can find them from a local hobbyist it’s way cheaper
Hoping for nano fish tier list next 🙌
You are psychic because it’s premiering this weekend 👀
Amazing video
Among These Shrimp DriftWood is My Choice 👍
They're all real cuties~❤✨️❤️❤️
Very good video
Thanks
Was waiting for this 😂
lol - you are welcome xD

I guess the only question I've left after your highly informative video (thanks!) is: which one would not become my pearl gourami's next dinner?
Bamboos or vampires
@@AquariumStoreDepot Thanks!
Caradina are easyer than neo just need active soil , distiled water and gh plus to keep them can be kept in neo peramiters also
I've got my first berried red fire shrimp!
Congrats 🙌
What do u think of uv blue light? It fights off algeu but is it good for the aquarium cycle for food etc
I would love to see this tier list adjusted for those of us who don’t want to breed them. It seems like all of B and C tier would be A or S tier if breeding was factored out of the ranking.
Get amano shrimp, the fry need brackish water to survive. They are fantastic, some of mine are pushing 8 years old now.
Especially since half the list are neocaridina morphs that are the same species, meaning they require the exact same care needs.
Where do you buy these shrimp? My local store only has ghost shrimp
Pls rank all the gourami spicies❤
Oh. I haven’t though about ranking species but Gouramis would be a lot easier to do than others because they are so different when it comes to aggression and size
can you do a video on bichirs
I can look into it - I don’t think there are enough species and differentiation to make a full tier list video a short might be a better format
So i take that the "s" tier are the simplest to take care of?
The two S tier shrimp are easy to care for and one of them is one of the most profitable to breed
well...... I have 4 shrimp they are the same species and they have transparent bodies but one of them has a black spot above their neck, one has a red one, and two of them have a blue-ish black spot they´re about 2 cm but i dont know if they´re still young or just small. Do a different Tetra List and Live Bearers List
I can definetly do a tetra lost. Live bearers i need to do more research on to do it justice
Is half of this list just different colors for neocaridina davidii?
Different care requirements, breeding viablity, and profitability
@@AquariumStoreDepotWell said. You understand them so well.
Most of these are just different colors of Caradina or neocaradina shrimp.
every time i buy shrimp they end up dying. What shrimp would you say is the hardiest. I usually buy ghost shrimp but kept a vampire alive for a year
Cherries are good to try. It’s likely your TDS. Have you tried shrimp only or with fish?
Put in some egg shells for calcium
Cherry's are really easy id try them
How did you acclimate them?
Can a red fire shrimp out breed a redtail catfish's appetite?
Why not S tier for blue dream?
Amano got S tier for utility and the variant of cherry got it because it’s the most profitable shrimp to breed
@@AquariumStoreDepot Ok, was curious because you only had good things to say about blue dreams ;)
I Think Floating Plants Are The Best ‼️‼️
Why not group all the neocaridinas together???
Some are harder to breed than others, more expensive, or have more value selling to others
Why did you try to pretend like the different color Variations of Neocardina shrimp are all different shrimp?
They are consider different breeds. I did the same with Betta fish and no one blinked an eye. Different breeding requirement, rarity, and some care differences
For me the list is reversed, neos are too easy 😂
For the neocaridina comments, think of different dog breeds!
Thank you 🙌
