So I've recently been researching Helmut Lang and WOW were the media sources so rude about Jil and Helmut before they decided that this was the next fashion craze around 1991-ish, I was absolutely astounded when reading some of them back; because they didn't get it, they felt it was their right to be rude about it (and bearing in mind this was after Jil had proved her company was viable, made good sales and been listed on the stock exchange, so they could see an evolution but were just against it because they felt like they knew better). Obviously theres more to the brand, as you cover, but that was so shocking to me as a reader
