    Funny part about calling Geoff a baritone. He says he's a baritone, everyone else says he's a bass.
    Even funnier ? He's also singing the bass line. 🙃

    This was my introduction to both VoicePlay and Geoff Castellucci, so it was a double-whammy for me the first time I heard it! I'd seen the movie a number of years before, but that movie (recommended!) has got so much stuff in the details that it's one that takes a number of watches to be able to pick up all of the details, and VP didn't skimp on any of the details when they did this video!

    I love watching reactors the first time they hear Geoff! The last note in this one is so classic. Your reaction was priceless!

    Great reaction! The guys are so good at bringing acting into their videos. They have a lot of Halloween videos This is Halloween, Hellfire which they just released, Knock Knock... there's just so many. I hope you can get to them all!

      Lol I doubt I'll be able to get to them all this Halloween season, but they definitely already seem like a safe bet for any Halloween themed reaction.

    So many good things this group has done! You are in for a hell of a fun rabbit hole! Some of my favorites from them 'My Mother Told Me', 'Valhalla Calling', 'Drunken Sailor', 'Moana Medley', 'Little Mermaid Medley', 'Creep', 'What's This?', 'This Is Halloween' both from Nightmare Before Christmas, and they recently put out Hellfire today, from the Hunchback of Notre Dame.

    They really are so creative and theatrical. This group is one of the few I've seen sing in character voices and pull it off. Also, don't miss "Hellfire" that they just dropped today. It's completely amazing! 😍
    I'd definitely suggest watching the movie. It's still in my top 5 favorite movies of all time. It's just a really good movie and totally appropriate for Halloween month!

    Voiceplay released their new Halloween video today..... Hellfire.
    It is epic and amazingly beautiful.
    I also never saw the movie but love all of Voiceplay videos from it..... Kidnap The Sandy Claws, This Is Halloween, What's This?. Aling with a bunch more awesome Halloween videos
    Geoff Castellucci, the bass, is releasing his new Halloween video tomorrow. Also from Nightmare Before Christmas.
    He doesn't many highs, lows and in between.
    Geoff has his own channel where he sings solo with instruments. He also has some Halloween videos.... Headless Horseman, Monster Mash and Ghost Riders In The Sky.

    Subscribed in hopes of more VoicePlay reactions! They are truly amazing! Geoff is definitely a bass singer but can singer baritone and tenor as well and everything in between. He has a solo channel where he clones himself to do the harmonies. Halloween you should definitely check out his cover of Monster Mash.

    I have never seen the movie either, probably won't. Doesn't matter, because it's Voiceplay and they are so, so good!! Santa was played by Geoff's brother in law, but his voice was done by Eli (ellie) the bald tenor.
    Their new one comes out today. Geoff started doing solo work when Covid shut the world down. His new one drops tomorrow.
    I subscribed when you did your reaction to their cover of We Don't Talk About Bruno. I will always be here for them and Geoff.

    Nightmare before Christmas is one of those animated films that is focused at LEAST as much on adults as on children. I think you'd really like it. Bass is actually the lowest range, with baritone above, but don't worry about it. (Layne, the beatbox, is actually playing Zero the dog.) BTW, did you know that J None, the guy in the skeleton t-shirt left VP and is now singing bass for the Navy in DC? He still comes back, on leave, to perform as a featured singer. Eli (the tenor) currently does have a second job as a voice actor. Loved your reaction, liked/subscribed.
    They dropped Hellfire today, and it's stunning. Their halloween songs are always first rate.

      I think someone had mentioned when I reacted to "We Don't Talk About Bruno" that J None was in the Navy so it's nice to have a connection to the group lol. Gotta support my shipmates after all!

    You absolutely must see Nightmare Before Christmas. You will understand how great Voiceplay's versions are when you do.
    Yes, Oogie Boogie is sung by a bass with five octave range, bass to high tenor.

  • @bjspeck4337
    @bjspeck4337 11 месяцев назад +1

    Oogie Boogie is very good. Geoff does non-acapella solos also in the same month. It is from the Nightmare Before Christmas and is called Jack's Lament. Geoff is a bass with a 5+ octave range. In Wicked a pre-Wizard of Oz and it is amazing. Invite your son to see In the Hall of the Mountain King soon. Trolls and cauldrons with things thrown into the pot that changes their voices. It might be something he'd like to watch with you.

    Male voices go like this: Tenor, high;, Baritone, lower; Bassm lowest.. Geoff can go from bass to tenor, he has a five octave range. Don't worry about the movie. I'm 79 and haven't seen it . I don't care for that style. But this video is amazing.

  • @Tarkus_
    @Tarkus_ 11 месяцев назад +1

    You absolutely should watch and/or react to the movie. It's a classic, and it is indeed a fun movie. It's not a horror movie. More like a dark comedy, but also a holiday classic (for two different holidays!).
    I would also strongly advise that you react to VoicePlay bassist Geoff Castellucci's cover of Monster Mash before Halloween. It has a GREAT music video!

  • @Kaotiqua

    Nope, Geoff Castelluci is definitely a Bass, though his range runs to baritone. You're correct that range is not everything, but it does account for about 85% of voice "ranges". He is definitely impressive, isn't he?!

    Technically Geoff is a Baritone who can sing Base. (According to Geoff) But then he does have a 5 octave range.

  • @johndeeregreen4592

    Bass is a vocal range and vocal type... Geoff is a bass, who has a stupid large vocal range.

    • @johndeeregreen4592
      @johndeeregreen4592 11 месяцев назад +1

      Over 75% of all men are baritones; the bass vocal type only accounts for 5% of the male population.
