Job hunting can be hard and frustrating sometimes, but it's all part of the process. We can do it ❤
I'm glad I'm not the only one who bangs my head in frustration 😅
Hi Joz.
I'm a fellow animation industry worker (freelance short films director), although not in the US, nor at the level you're used to (never worked in a big studio like Nick), but all I hear from animators or anyone else working in the industry all over the world is that it feels like the darkest times of the history of the industry.
I myself have been unemployed for more than 3 years now (also, I'm not exactly in the right place for that, being in a small country that doesn't really have a vibrant animation scene), so with the whole AI debacle, now, I can kinda attest to the sentiment.
I've discovered your channel just a couple of weeks ago, and it's a breath of fresh air to see someone who's in it and not being all doom'n'gloomy about it. Thanks for sharing your daily life with us. I'm sure it's also making you a world of good to still keep the creative juice flowing through crafting and editing these vids as it is to us to watch.
Keep going !
Wish you the best for the job hunting (although I'm guessing that would be the end of your YT endeavors, since we all know working in animation is a living nightmare in terms of workload. Maybe it's not such a bad thing to be unemployed, after all ^^).
Also, about what kind of videos we'd like to see from you, just go at it with your own gut instinct. It's your channel after all, this is not a democracy, you're the artist, and it's your world, your storytelling you're showing.
After all, as Miyazaki once famously said to Pete Docter, "I don't think about the audience" ^^
Honestly, I just kind of assumed I'd have a lot of free time long term. Not sure what would happen to my channel if I returned to work, but that's a debacle for future me. Thanks for sticking around to watch my videos!
@@jozdrawsinprada You're very much welcome. Thanks for taking the time to make them and share them with us.
I think both types of videos are great. Your voiceover videos not only provides a deep thoughtful message, but the imagery within the frame include a form of visual storytelling and correlating to the voiceover message. You do this very well.
The videos where you talk in front of the camera is great because it’s more free flowing with less structure. You get to express how you feel about any subject no matter how big, or small, or deep the subject is. Nuances. 👍👍👍
I think the exact same thing. I like doing both, but choosing to go one route would likely end up boring in my opinion. Really appreciate hearing your thoughts! Thank you for watching!
I agree. 💙
If it helps the job market in general is terrible right now, even for non-art careers. You have a social presence and RUclips which is more than what most people have. Keep doing what you are doing and I’m sure you’ll find what you need ❤
Yeah, the sunny side to it is that I'm not alone 😅. I'm very thankful to have an audience on RUclips despite being so new. Thank you for the support!
@@jozdrawsinprada yesss just subscribed 🥰
You are wonderful. Thank you for being you
I can only try! Thank you for watching.
Really great video from start to end. Loved it!
Glad to hear! Thank you 😄
No pressure when it comes to doing your content. It really doesn’t have to be perfect. If I were to choose, you talking in front of the camera indeed feels more personal, but you have a good combination of everything.
Still feeling it out, but maybe a good mix is best as you said. I appreciate your input! 😁
You’re welcome!
Hi Joz. I really enjoyed the way you put together this video. Looking forward to more videos from you!
Thank you! Looking forward to release more videos 😊.
It’s interesting how similar the struggles are for composers in the music industry. This video resonates with me in that regard. I’m right here with ya! Haha
Aw man, even music. Everyone is getting hit hard in this economy. Well, here's to hoping things look up for all of us soon!
i really appreciate your vlogs! they have been a refreshing source of comfort and grounding. plus your editing skills are top notch! i have been wanting to break into the animation industry for quite some time now, but as i get older my priorities have changed to find stability, and so it's been difficult but also somewhat exciting transitioning to another career. who knows, maybe i will attempt breaking in again in the future when hopefully the industry is in a better state for new artists. best of luck to you on your journey!
@@artbyingrawr I'm actually still learning to edit so I've got some ways to go! But thank you, I'm flattered to hear you enjoy my editing 😄.
A new field could be fun. You never know. Good luck to you as well!
