I've crashed 4 times on dirt (one of those times at 65mph, slowest one was about 25-30mph) with a quadlock setup on the mirror stem and the only thing that was part of the quadlock system that got damaged was the cable. The phone stayed in the case and they flew off, the mirrors were destroyed, the bikes, two different bikes all banged up but rideable. The mount and case itself were scratched up and banged up but still worked just fine. The phone itself was fine just the protective glass was cracked. Still using the same setup as those crashes with just a new cable. Bikes been fixed sold.
Wow wtf, wonder if those particular cases have a design problem, my last 2 cases held on like crazy, or that blue card thing in the case, could that have been holding it slightly out?
@ElementXtra yeah must be the case then, each case is different I guess, I've had an s9+ case and s23+ currently (I think?) Neither have ever came off the mount or out of the case but the s9 case buttons were dogcrap, literally couldn't press the buttons with a glove on, even a motox glove, stupid design. Oh and the s9 case seemed to get sand in it lots somehow, would have to take the phone out and clean it pretty often, this one nothing seems to get in
I've been using a Ram Mount since 2015, and it has never failed. Same mount. Multiple bikes. Multiple phones. Never used the extra rubber bands. Tens of thousands of kilometers. Hundreds of kilometers per hour regularly. Rain, snow and shine.
Hence I don't use their garbage paper mache phone cases. Get the universal mount and a otterbox and glue the universal mount onto the back of the otterbox. Been going 3 years now with no issues.
Yup, that's what I used to do. But the OtterBox case for the pixel 7 has a rubber shell around the plastic that doesn't work with the adhesive adapter. Stuck using quadlocks shit case for now lol
That really sucks, I'd assume it's because it's one of the phones with the curved edges. My current phone's screen is flat and it seems to have a better hold on the phone than if it was curved. It still should not have flown off like that though.
I've had 4 phones with quadlock cases and never even crossed my mind this will happen. My s23u definitely was a super tight fit and needed extra attention sliding it in. Maybe this is a case of user error?
My Quadlock phone case requires a significant amount of effort to get my phone off of it, it would not simply fall off of the case. I worry more about the vibration dampening attachment than the phone case to be honest.
And that's why you should buy their vibration dampener that goes under the phone. Besides, that case probably has some problems, because i have a similar phone, and it's very difficult to take it off. I used to have it on an Africa twin, off roading with no problems, and now on a z900rs, which gives off even more vibrations at high speed, no problem.
My s10+ case sits on tight, i also have the vibration dampener and a windshield covering the phone since i have a sport bike, probably all factors that helped over your situation
Had exact same thing happen to me like 2 weeks ago :/ luckily I had insurance on the phone and was able to replace it for not that much, but still, if quadlock is the best out there, am afraid of the others :/
Oh man I finally pulled the trigger and got a quad lock system, and now I'm second guessing it. Can you supply some info on your setup? Phone type, the age of the phone case, do you use the quad lock phone case as permanently phone case and did it happen on a smooth road or a rough road?
galaxy s20+, case was a little under a year old. and yeah its my permanent case. and it happened on a smooth highway. if the case is super hard to take off ur phone, you should be fine. i hope it doesn't happen for you
I’ve ridden years on heaps of different bikes with quad locks and I’ve never had a phone randomly fly out I’ve also never stored a card behind the phone so the phone can’t actually sit in the case properly which is probs what linked to your phone flying out…..
Maybe claim fault that you maybe never clicked it in properly maybe you thought you had but clearly wasent there secure things no one really has this issue just saying
the issue isnt with the case clipping into the mount. my case had become more loose on the phone over time . ive had it for about a year. the phone flew out of the case itself
Did you try to contact Quad Lock and see if they'll stand behind their product and make it right?
no, i wasn't recording as it fell off so they'd prolly try to say it never happened. i guess it doesn't hurt to hit them up i guess

Damn bro that sucks. I was worried about that happening to me
i hope it doesnt happen to you. the ride home sucks with no music lmao

the blue thing is a sticker, which are very very thin, it could just like you said, maybe the galaxy s20+ cases arn't as tight as other phones

@@z9brigade You gotta put epoxy over the adhesive and carefully position the mount onto the rubber then let it dry/harden for about 6 hours.
@@Waldo1122 thanks for the tip. Never thought to go that far into it. I'll probably end up doing that, thanks.
I use another stupid expensive brand to hold my phone, but mine really hugs the phone instead of a case.

I’ve had my peak design mount for over a year now and I’m absolutely loving it, case is always secure. Definitely recommend it

or maybe not
I'd turn that thing off, riding around with it in such a state I'd be paranoid to have the battery catch fire at any time.
ur right

from what ive gathered, some peoples cases come super tight. while others are not so tight

case is relatively new, from what ive gathered from what most people are saying, the quality of their cases vary from phone to phone
My s10+ case sits on tight, i also have the vibration dampener and a windshield covering the phone since i have a sport bike, probably all factors that helped over your situation
contact support and see if they do something about this. and give us an update on their answer

Ahh u could assume it will bend on higher speed ,as u are on naked
I am still using the ram phone holders, never failed me. My only option since I use a chunky fucking ulefone.
be safe bro
Never had this issue. Hopefully I never do
naked bike problems
Always buy a phone holder where you can physically see the holder gripping to your actual phone.
don't they cover damage to your phone?
i doubt it
never had this happen with mine. that sucks dude.
