Skoda Octavia Mk2: Car Alarm (How To Switch Off Internal Sensors For Pets)
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 10 июн 2021
- The Skoda Octavia Mk2 car alarm has internal sensors that can be triggered if a pet moves around in the cabin (or you do). But never fear!
There’s a simple way to arm the alarm but exclude the internal sensors. It then sounds if a thief breaks in but your pet - and you - can move without setting it off. The video explains how to:
• arm the car alarm in the typical manner (Skoda Octavia Mk2)
• recognise what triggers the car alarm
• temporarily turn off the interior car alarm sensors.

My Skoda superb loves setting its alarm off at night in high humidity. It makes a reliable hygrometer. Cheers for the video!
No worries. I've had similar issues recently with a different car. The cause was a faulty boot latch.
I have a car like that. So pleased I found your advice. Will be very useful for me & will be used a lot in many circumstances.
Glad to hear it.
Thank you so much. I’ve been looking for this video for ages
No worries, Callum. Glad it helped.
Really useful to know and very well (and amusingly) explained. Thanks.
Thanks. Glad you enjoyed it.
What do you like about the Skoda Octavia? Let me know in the comment section.
Another useful video well presented.
Thank you, Nta16. The Octavia has many handy little features. Best wishes.
Absolute legend, thank you 👏
No worries, Will.
Thanks for the video my car alarm was just randomly going off with no one in the car, I pressed the button and it’s stopped going off and annoying the neighbours 👍
Good stuff. Glad it's sorted.
Very helpful
Glad the video helped. More Octavia content to follow.
Thanks! The manual was totally confusing about that! Great car though!
No worries, Pete.

Thanks!
You're welcome.
My wife has a 62 plate Skoda Fabia 1.2 Elegence which she's had for nearly 10 years. Just recently and occasionally the alarm intermittently goes of randomly at night but it never seemingly activates during the day. We thought that cats under the car or a fox that visits was causing this but I think not. Is there a way of just locking the car (with the key in the lock) without activating the alarm system? I can lock my Volvo this way. It's been back to the garage several times but found no faults. They even replaced the car battery, For weeks no problem, but last couple of days its a pain in the arse at 1:30 in the morning.
My gut feeling is probably not. However, I don't have a Fabia here of that era to check. It might be worth asking at a Fabia specific forum. Good luck!
Great 👍 🚘
Thanks. Glad the video helped.
Have you done video on variable boot floor?
Cheers
Hello. I haven't covered the boot floor, but there's more Octavia content to follow.
pressing the lock button twice should turn on safe zone and turn off the internal sensor. No idea if its on the mk2 but i think it is
Thanks. That's interesting. I'll see if it works on the Mk2.
@@CarSpyTVand does it? And also, I've got mk3 and I don't have that button.. Actually not sure if I even have the alarm..
I did the same you did but keep alarming did you have any idea
The following link might help. See: www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/415575-anti-theft-alarm-keeps-on-going-off-for-no-apparent-reason/
Or for when you're asleep in your car and accidentally trigger the alarm..
That sounds like the voice of experience!
@@CarSpyTV unfortunately, yes 😆
Don't suppose you have a video on how to remove the grill?
I'm afraid not. However, you may be able to find the Octavia Factory Service Manual that explains such things. Good luck.
Hello my name is Jimbo I have a problem with my Skoda mk2 the alarm 🚨 kept going off in the night so I removed the alarm fuse number 35 and now the alarm doesn’t go off but the hazard lights flash for 5 minutes every 2 hours , how can I fix this please 🙏🏻 my friend
Hi Jimbo. Briskoda (linked below) has information about both issues on its forum. The alarm might go off because the car’s battery is low, for example.
If it was my car, I check the forum and see how other people solved such issues. Good luck.
