Hi everyone! In the last part, 'Unwanted Shadows,' I turned off the SpotlightIES so I could demonstrate how the stage's shadows block the lighting. Also, around 9:49, I mistakenly said 'set Z to 1' instead of '-1' (sorry). If you're experiencing issues with the scene turning black when loading optical flares, try changing the order of effects in accessory manipulation. Load Optical Flares before Diffusion7. To make the hair shiny, you can also use the Materials in Ray-MMD's Hair Folder but I used the Editor Folder so you can see that it can be done manually and make your own adjustments to your preference. This applies not only to the hair but also to other materials as well as seen in my previous tutorials. It took me some time to finish this one, but it was really fun. Hmmm no clue too as to why optical flares does that when you used it. I suggest you use ikeno's ikLensGhost2 instead. It has the same effect but with a controller that you can use to adjust the shape and brightness of the optical flares.
Yes, you absolute legend! I've always wondered how to remove those pesky shadows in encased stages! Great one as usual, buddy. Do you ever plan on making PMXE tutorials? Those would be awesome, here's an idea: translating the names of morphs and bones so it won't show "subset-x" or "null" by using the PMXE batch renamer and google translate. It's super easy, useful and I'm sure your subs would appreciate it.

did you use the model in the tutorial or your own model? I suggest finishing the tutorial first using the model provided so you can troubleshoot the problem easier when you use your own model
@@theweebdev so i tried putting the materials 2.0 into the material tab in mme and it kinda fixed it, but now the shadow is TOO SHARP, like almost pitch black unless its at an angle, i fixed the transparency problem but its worse
Great tutorial, but I wonder why the shadow of the object moves according to the movement of the camera, not statically according to the location of the sun.

Hmmm this happened to me before when I change to a lower screen size or a vertical screen. Other than that, I don't know what's causing this. Try setting the screen size to 1920x1080 and make a new one from scratch because that's what I used when I made this tutorial. Close all programs except MMD when doing this tutorial
@@theweebdev since i like to do vertical resolution, I found reducing it slightly to 1050x1680 worked out for me. though probably isn't for everyone since its slightly smaller heightwise than the standard iphones today
Hello! I have a problem. I have only “Main” on Effect Mapping in MME. I did it so many times like it was shown in your tutorial but it doesn’t work, there are no FogMap, lightmap etc
That means your MMD can't read your ray.x when you loaded it. Those other tabs shows as part of ray-mmd. You can try these: 1. Put ray-mmd in the same drive or folder where you put your MMD software 2. In the site where you downloaded ray-mmd, download and use the tar.gz file instead of the zip file

I haven't experienced this problem. Camera only changes the angle and light manipulation changes the position of the sun causing the shadow/lighting of the scene to change as well
Hello I have a problem ;c, When I put on the skybox only a gray background appears and when I open ray.x nothing happens, and in the MME part only the "main" tab appears that is nothing works which is very strange ;c I already used ray-cast (ok I didn't know how to use it, but at least things worked) I didn't change pc or anything, can you help me?
If you only have main tab in your MME, that means your MMD can't read ray.x when you try to load it. Same with your problem with the skybox. Try putting the ray-mmd folder on the same place as your MMD software.
@@lllyxt Hmmm try to redownload Ray-MMD and extract it using a different file extractor. You can also try checking the version of the DirectX that's installed in your pc because it could be incompatible 🤔
Someone just mentioned that in this video. You can find it in the comments section. Basically, what she did was change the draw order of items in the accessory manipulation. She put optical flares first before diffusion7

@@thomashartley3067 if your raymmd doesn't work. It has something to do with your MMD not reading where your effects is located. You need to find a location in your pc where when you put the raymmd folder, it can be recognized by mmd like in Desktop or Downloads Folder. There's also a possibility that when you extracted the file, files names were corrupted because the file extractor you used doesn't support Japanese. You can either try using a different file extractor like b a n d i z i p or change your pc's system locale to japanese
Someone in the comments section find a solution for this problem. Basically, you need to load OpticalFlares first before Diffusion7 if you encounter this problem
I'm enjoying the video. But there's one problem. (I used a translator so you may not understand) Lighting effects work well. However, the contrast is too strong, making the characters and maps too black. Are there any things I need to set up before? I'm curious about the solution!
I sometimes encounter this when I try to change to a lower screen size. Try using 1920x1080 screen size in MMD because that's what I used in this tutorial. You can also lessen the size of the "frame manipulation" at the left side so the display screen at the right side of MMD gets bigger
I'm sorry but I can't see what you're seeing in your screen so I can't really determine the problem. I don't have that problem when using Time of Day. It could be many things but without actually seeing it, its hard to tell. Did you use the same stage and model in the tutorial?
@@HoyoGames101 If you're using the same model and stage that was used in the tutorial and you're having green dots then it has something to do with how your pc process ray-mmd since I've been tagged on videos and they all work properly. I'm using 1920x1080 screen size when doing this video so maybe try to replicate the screen size as well and see how it goes

Hmmm.. what's your screen size set in MMD? I made this tutorial in 1920x1080. Sometimes when the screen size is small or in vertical position, it's making the screen too dark or bright. the shadow should move according to the location of the sun which is controlled by Light Manipulation

@@theweebdev I did, I fixed it. I went to accessories edit and moved the flare above Diffussion and the black screen went away.

im not able to see any godrays and everything on my end just seems way darker than yours. Any idea what I could have messed up on?

@@razewithodin Yeah for some reason this skybox is affected by screen size so when I want to make vertical resolution, I use sky hemisphere instead

If you look up for an example, "As you like it MMD PV Kit" on here, you'll see "bassedance" with a really nice looking video! I really struggle looking for tutorials on PVKits but they're soo cool!! :D

For some reason, once i load Time of fog with godray with cloud caster.fx, my skybox turns completely white, is there any way to fix this??
Hmmm.. what's your screen size set in MMD? I made this tutorial in 1920x1080. Sometimes when the screen size is small or in vertical position, it's making the screen too dark or bright. Also, you can try to make the display screen at the right side bigger by dragging the "frame manipulation" to the left
