Also, if you're going to make a claim that this little watch can give an accurate reading, which seems to be a gimmick, you should compare with other BP monitors to make your point!
I don't know that I'd say it's very scratch resistant - I mean it's cheap so it doesn't have a gorilla glass face or anything. The rubber around the screen is slightly raised above the screen to help protect it.
Great question - these days, really nothing. The only difference there may be (and you could still use the terms for either) is I think generally now a "fitness tracker" is slim and a smart watch has a bigger screen. But all smart watches now do all the fitness stuff too so they are really no different - just different names for essentially the same thing.
This one did not. I don't think most do because blood pressure is very precarious. You need to be still with feet on the floor, etc. And in fact these will never be as accurate as the Cuff style. These are more for comparing against itself (if you use one of these to take your BP every day, you see the consistent numbers and know if something is way off.)
How dies it know calories? Mine is supposed to track my O2 during sleep but I don't know how to find that. My O2 goes down in my sleep do I need oxygen, I got this to see if I have improvement
the BPM didn't look like a blood pressure reading. Did you confuse BPM with BEATS PER MINUTE?...because that whole number reading appeared more accurate to beats per minute. (e.g. 120/80) is the format for a BP reading....ijs. nice review though.
I got given a cheap smartwatch that at 1st i thought the 120/80 was accurate. Then it had a weird reading, then i decided to remove it and lay it on the bed and it still had a great reading of 120/80. Incredible how this device can magically read my hr without being on. That means it must be the best device to sleep without wearing 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Yeah, it can be hard to know - so many fitness trackers claim to do things... And how are we supposed to know if the readings they're giving us are correct or not?!?
After alot of reading, i took the chance on the amazfit bip. Mainly coz it has 45 days battery life too. My cheap one aswell as most just die in a day or 2. I wasnt expecting much tbh......but i was well impressed. I did a couple videis on it compared to my finger oxygen bpm and new ovron evolv, both of which i also reviewed. The bpm was spot on compared. The battery is AMAZING too. It monitors my sleep and bpm at same time all night and......well, its so comfy to wear, i forget i got it on at night. If yoy search my recent videos, u can see how simple it is. 😉👍, i hate these fake advertisements on tv just to make money. This is a great product however and i give it 10/10.happy new year
I believe it will work - you would just be limited to the information it shows on screen and would have no way to change any settings. It's really meant to be paired with a phone or tablet.
1. Can you turn the Bluetooth OFF? 2. Does it require constant phone connect? 3. What areas of your phone does the app require to access? 6 years old...What other devices have come out since ? :-)
Yes, 6 years so I haven't had this for a while... I don't think you can turn bluetooth off - almost all these devices are like that, which is kinda a bummer since you'd likely get at least a little more battery out of it if you could. Does not have to stay connected to phone - next time you are connected to phone and open app, the data will sync. I am not sure about areas of access especially because this has probably changed. A lot of new devices since then... In the "cheap smart watch" category this one is the one that has most impressed me: ruclips.net/video/3jbW0QlfY3k/видео.html
It works well - about as accurate as most step/calorie counters. The blood pressure part isn't something I'd rely on as being exact but could be useful for general idea when out and about.
Nice clear review of both the band and the Android app. Its too bad it cannot be made to take blood pressure readings while I sleep. If it did my next question would be, "how can you get the data out of the app - into a database for example"
hi Eric ! Looks like some good stuff. I wonder if I'm able to set max / min heart rate during my exercise and let it alert me if I'm outside the range ? If yes, is it via vibration, sound alert or the phone ? Thanks a lot !
There is another version B15S which also have O2 Saturation measurement. Hope you have the chance to take a look at it. Another one I found which seems very good is the No.1 F4. Cheers !!!
I'm sceptical. Primarily because the reading it gave is average blood pressure. I will wait for independent reviews before I decide purchasing something that could easily be guessing the blood pressure measurement. I'm not aware of any wrist based blood pressure technology that does not use applied pressure that can be considered reliable.
Yeah, I hear you. It is possible. However, there are newer fitness trackers with more advanced ECG Chips that actually can not only do an ECG but accurately detect blood pressure. I'm testing one now and was just at the doctor yesterday and it seems to be quite accurate. Will be reviewing it in the coming weeks. It's new with new tech and more expensive but impressive at what it can do.
Try pressing on the HR or BP without wearing it. If it works then it's not legit. I have to return mine to amazon. It looks like it's been programmed to have a HR and BP reading whether you are wearing it or not.
Agreed! I highly doubt this watch can give an accurate reading. Feels like a gimmick. What's the science behind it getting a BP reading...and that too, via a heart rate sensor??
@@luckyblueduck I am on the nursing staff at a local clinic. I have a different model of activity tracker but it also has blood pressure and we are all skeptical. I've checked a few times with a coworker taking a manual reading (more accurate than a machine) and both numbers have been incredibly close. I don't know the science behind it, but I do know it is possible that these are accurate.
In which regards? The Fitness Tracker seems on par with most fitness trackers (none of them are exactly perfect). The Heart Rate seems to be highly accurate. The BP Monitor I wouldn't rely on as an official medical BP Monitor - it's more of an extra thing to use in addition to an actual Blood Pressure Machine.
I would steer away from devices that are not FDA approved for monitoring blood pressure. Perhaps it is a coincidence that your reading matches with the reading you got from Omron BPM, or perhaps it gives a somewhat accurate reading for average ranges. Hypertension is a serious condition in today's times, and one should be very cautious on how they get their BP measured.
Not gonna disagree with you there. I don't think any fitness tracker is going to replace a traditional cuff for serious monitoring, but I think you can use it in addition to, taking note of it's readings and as a way to possibly detect a sudden change. But yeah, this is definitely not something a doctor would ever use to take bp.
Hello, I am very impressed too. Thank you for the review. Where can I buy the little accessorie to keep the band secure? (like the red one you bought).
There's a link in the description to those bands on Amazon. The great part is you get lots of colors, not just red, so you can change it up when you want.
Yeah, I don't know. I've been happy with mine especially for the price... But of course I'm just one person/opinion and you definitely have to take all opinions in consideration.
It's not a great watch. Definitely not on same level as Fitbit or Samsung Fit in terms of watch, but it's super cheap. There is one I reviewed recently that's much better and has EKG feature though the watch part is still not as fancy as the more expensive brands.
That's why I always encourage people to read the reviews. I have owned products like this that have an average 3 stars, but I have great experience with. And I have owned products that have a 4-5 star rating, but didn't work well at all for me. Definitely have to read the reviews to figure out which ones to trust. With technology it's always hard because sometimes user error or lack of knowledge can play a part. Then again, having a great user interface and making a product easy to use counts too so if a company misses that mark, then perhaps they deserve the low rating. Anyway, this tracker worked well for me, but I haven't used it for a while because I got a Gear S2 watch a while back.
To answer your question - no one. I don't accept payments for reviews. Probably 98% of everything you own was made in China... If you have specific issues to share to help others decide to consider it or not, feel free to share. "This product is total crap! Don't buy it." isn't extremely helpful. At any rate, I found it to work adequately well for the price point. I don't expect an inexpensive fitness tracker to be as good as a $250 one...
@@hollywoodfrodo, just check the same link on Amazon, you sir, provided. Plenty of reviews what and how broke. Only to your phone with the app open/running

Calories are guestimates based on your weight/build and how many steps or what exercise you do. It's definitely not exact!

They have Android and Apple and yes, you can use a tablet!

Can you use it with 3rd party running apps, like Runkeeper?
Or maybe "Sleep as android"?
No - it integrates with one random 3rd party app I've never heard of, but so far as I can tell no direct integration with any of the major players.
