- Earlier this year, we took four of our M Models to the Nordschleife at the Nürburgring to try to break as many fast lap records as we could in one day. Take a look behind the scenes and see how we did.

BMW M2:
Combined fuel consumption: 10.2-9.6 l/100 km. Combined CO2 emissions: 231-218 g/km.
BMW M3 CS:
Combined fuel consumption: 10.4-10.1 l/100 km. Combined CO2 emissions: 234 -- 229 g/km. All data according to WLTP.
BMW M4 CSL:
Combined fuel consumption: 10.1-9.9 l/100 km. Combined CO2 emissions: 227-224 g/km. All data according to WLTP.
Official data on fuel consumption and CO2 emissions were determined in accordance with the mandatory measurement procedure and comply with Regulation (EU) 715/2007 valid at the time of type approval. In case of a range, figures in the WLTP take into account any optional equipment. For newly type-tested vehicles since 01.01.2021, the official data no longer exist according to NEDC, but only according to WLTP. My time on this track is 7:28 with an original BMW M4 F82 in Assetto Corsa, at the moment I'm just a Brazilian, but I'm going to graduate as an airline pilot and I'm going to live in Germany, later I'm going to buy an M4 and beat a lot records on this track, with a BMW M4 G82 CSL I do it in 6:49
I'm addicted to this track, I drive it every day in the simulator, my time is 7:28 with a BMW M4 F82, my dream is to drive an M4 G82 CSL on this track, I would do it in 6:49. I live in Brazil and my dream is to live in German and buy one M4

I love to see it! I own 3 ///M cars e60 m5, e63 m6 , and a 23' g80 M3C xdrive. I'm excited for the future of the Brand moving forward. Porsche & BMW M are the best racing engineers. I really do believe this new M4CS will do 7:13 on the Nurburgring due to AWD. WE NEED BMW M in Formula1 now! it would be great for the brand & clothing, marketing, etc.

At 7:28 the M3 CS IS still just a little slower than Project 8. Oh, well - I still love the car. It is awesome!!!
the Project 8 doesn't have back seats though....?
@@1300zwcorrect and it also has a roll cage. It shouldn’t be in the same class. The true fastest four door four seat sedans here are the M3CS and amg gt63s, which lapped nearly identical times on the same tires. The S Plaid went 3 seconds faster but was on full track tires. If it were on standard cup 2’s probably in the area of 7 seconds slower than the m3 cs and Amg

would the next gen x7 be like the new 7 series?
Why would BMW do this when the temperatures are too cold (cars were running on Cup 2 R/Cup 2 tires)??? Makes no sense to me. The M4 CS (or is it a M4 LCI?) time would have been very interesting as well but in theory, it should be slower than the M3 CS time (M4 CS is heavier).
Also, another stupid question: Why is this video not listed on RUclips? Are the results not good enough? Just wondering.
How do you know the weight of a car not even in production yet? Odd anyone would claim a 4dr is heavier than the 2dr version. Comparing weights of existing models, depending on trim, the M4 is 30 to 60lbs lighter due to lower parts count (doors/windows/mechs)
The exclusive reservation of the Nordschleife is made weeks or even months in advance. So you always need a little luck with the weather.
So the M Prototype is the M4 CS? Cool.
I don't know what this M prototype is but it's surely based on the M4 competition. We will see what it'll look like next year! Anyway... Good job BMW!

90% of all drivers will be faster in the M3CS than in the CSL.
No, the csl is lighter and has a bigger top speed
@@Max-sf9utBut the M3 has xdrive which is why many drivers will be more comfortable in the M3, the CSL is comparatively more edgy. Only the most experienced drivers will be able to extract the full potential from the CSL

@@RC-sr4eo You're right maybe it's the Cs because if you stop the video at 1:44 - 1:45 you can see the 4 exhaust, If it was full electric it won't have any. Maybe is the lci but I don't think there will be a big difference between the lci and pre lci in change to call it M prototype. Also it has that big lip in front, I never seen that on normal M car before only on CS like the G80cs or M4csl. You Also have on the m2cs F87 but that's a bit different than the new generation. Of they are testing new LCI M4csl, engine, Chassis modification, suspension etc
