we had a vehicle stolen in Cali , then moved out of state the following year .... recieved past due registration notices for 2 years for a vehicle that was reported stolen!! Finally had to call them to get it squared away by sending copies of the police report. Fn crazy
of course you could have put a change of address at the DMV for your Vehicles, wait 6 months or like I did, register it in the new state. when the new Registration comes in, write on the renewal moved out of state. send in the renewal form. AND Circle the out of state Address in bold red ink.
We did that. 3 different times we received renewals and did that exact thing. Included copy of new registration in new state. Still didn't work. The lady on the phone apologized and said this happens often. So California is aware but hasn't figured out or trained people how to do this when they receive paperwork. I'm just glad I talked to the lady and got taken care of. Thanks for watching 👍

$618 for renewing a trailer registration?! Wow! I paid $90 to the Alaska DMV for title, plate and a permanent lifetime registration for my trailer. And I was in and out of the DMV office in seven minutes.
I never had the problem, Registering out of state. the problem I had moving back to the Commie state, they wanted extra fees and proof my Truck was CaliFOREIGNia Emissions Compliant. so we walked out to my Truck opened the Hood, all that was required was a dumbass sticker on the Firewall.. which in my Intellect, I told the woman, I could have went to pick and pull and peeled one off and glued it to the firewall making it state compliant..
Ya same with atv and dirt bikes bringing into California they also looked for sticker on airbox lid. I could have just got lid off another one lol.. I hope I never have to move back. Truck cost over $800 to register in CA and only $145 in SD. Thanks for watching 👍
We have had friends move out and never had an issue. But we have heard from many that have had the same issue. Some have been dealing with for several years it's crazy. The lady at the dmv apologized and did say this happens often. Thanks for watching 👍

Yeah, no thanks. It's kind of like Illinois, ok to travel through and spend as little money as possible there because it doesn't go very far.
